CHAPTER 439: CHAPTER 83-2

Will shook his head. He offered a few indifferent words of comfort and then galloped to catch up to Oriel.

Moya’s actions made Chen Jiuge somewhat uneasy. To prevent any accidents, Chen Jiuge decided to launch a full-scale attack this time.

After several major battles and obtaining Law Crystals, the strength of Chen Jiuge’s troops had significantly increased. Combined with the reinforcements from the Yaksha Clan and the Myriad Beasts Sect, their military might had reached its peak.

The Yaksha Clan boasted over 2,500 Heavenly Immortals and more than 5,000 True Immortals.

The Myriad Beasts Sect had 800 Heavenly Immortals but no True Immortals.

Chen Jiuge commanded 4,000 Heavenly Immortals and over 5,000 True Immortals.

The deployment of nearly 20,000 cultivators was naturally a significant event, and the target camp detected them the moment the army appeared.

The camp’s commander, Gus, was extremely hot-tempered. He wanted to lead his troops to strike immediately but was advised against it by his Deputy General.

"General, we must retreat! With nearly 20,000 cultivators, including 7,000 Heavenly Immortals, we are no match for them."

Gus continuously exhaled scorching hot air, clearly enraged.

"Damn it, I’ve taken a loss this time! Kill all those prisoners! Leave no one alive!" Gus ordered ruthlessly.

"Yes, General."

Before the Deputy General could leave the main tent, hundreds of wide-area Divine Skills rained down from the sky. Chen Jiuge had launched these in advance, specifically to prevent the True Demon Clan from escaping or harming the prisoners.

This camp was large, housing over 3,000 True Demon Clan Heavenly Immortals and nearly 10,000 True Demon Clan True Immortals. Without the reinforcements from the Yaksha Clan and Myriad Beasts Sect, capturing this camp would result in significant losses,

Chen Jiuge mused.

Watching the scattered attacks, Gus roared, "Do you really think I’m scared of you?"

A pitch-black Wolf Fang Club appeared in his hand. He gripped it tightly, the muscles in his arms bulging, as a black torrent surged skyward, instantly annihilating a Heavenly Immortal who couldn’t dodge in time.

Chen Jiuge looked down at Gus, shocked. His strength is worlds apart from the previous camp commander!

"Divine Skill—Myriad Forms Spear Destruction!"

Seeing Gus about to strike again, Chen Jiuge immediately unleashed his own Divine Skill to intercept.

A black War Spear materialized from the sky, forcing Gus to defend.

"CLANG!"

The ground beneath Gus’s feet instantly caved in, fracturing the earth for several hundred meters around.

Looking up at Chen Jiuge, Gus sneered, "Not bad strength. No wonder you dared to attack my camp."

Eight black beams shot out from Gus’s eyes. Chen Jiuge’s pupils contracted; he quickly dodged using his Infinite Divine Power.

He touched the fresh wound on his face, his gaze hardening. This guy is incredibly strong!

Yaksha Jing, who wanted to help Chen Jiuge, was intercepted by Gus’s Deputy General. Meanwhile, Yue Jun had to manage the other attacking Heavenly Immortals; these were the army’s strongest elites, and they couldn’t afford to lose too many.

Compared to the overpowering Wolf Fang Club, his War Spear felt slightly lacking. Feeling the faint tremor in his hands, Chen Jiuge’s eyes blazed with fighting spirit. It has been a long, long time since someone physically outmatched me.

Enveloped by the black Death Shura Dharma Image, Chen Jiuge resembled a Demon God who had strode out of Hell, his War Spear now wreathed in a black, deathly aura.

"You are the strongest True Demon I’ve ever met," Chen Jiuge stated.

Gus casually hefted his Wolf Fang Club, returning the compliment, "And you are the strongest cultivator I’ve ever met."

"Divine Skill—Netherworld Eight Extremes Judgment!"

"Divine Skill—Black Shock!"

The Other Shore Flower conjured by the Long Spear clashed with the black, rock-like manifestation from the Wolf Fang Club’s strike.

For a moment, Chen Jiuge could hear nothing but the sound of their collision over the din of the battlefield. In Gus’s eyes, only the brilliant light from that impact remained.

It might have been an eternity, or perhaps just an instant.

The black Death Shura Dharma Image continued to disintegrate. The Wolf Fang Club in Gus’s hand slowly crumbled to dust, and a torrent of blood erupted from his body.

The clash left both combatants seemingly evenly matched. Overall, Chen Jiuge’s injuries were slightly lighter, but his Dharma Image had disintegrated, and his Mana reserves were almost depleted.

Although Gus appeared heavily injured, he still possessed a sliver of strength to act.

By now, Chen Jiuge’s army had charged into the camp. The True Demon Clan, now facing a pincer attack, was being pushed back relentlessly. Even Gus’s Deputy General had his head ferociously plucked off by a grinning Yaksha Jing.

Gus gave Chen Jiuge a complex look. "You’re quite impressive. I’ll remember you. My name is Gus, and I will be back."

Watching Gus’s figure slowly fade, Chen Jiuge frowned. A Great Teleportation Talisman? They can still be used here?

"It must be a Great Teleportation Talisman from their True Realm," Yue Jun stated gravely. "The Runes from our Star Sea Realm and the Heavenly Realm cannot be used here."

"Junior Brother," Yue Jun continued, his expression still grave, "we must be more careful from now on. This Gus’s identity is clearly not simple. We might be targeted."

"That’s unlikely. We’re just a scattered force here; the true main battlefield isn’t this area," Chen Jiuge replied, shaking his head. "The number of Heavenly Immortals and True Immortals from the myriad clans numbers in the hundreds of millions, if not more. Although only a fraction of them appear on any given battlefield, even that is a terrifying figure. With our small numbers, how could we possibly be specifically targeted?"

Unless... this Gus is some kind of prince of the True Demon Clan? That’s not entirely impossible, I suppose.

With Gus gone and his Deputy General slain by Yaksha Jing, no one remaining in the True Demon Clan encampment could contend with Chen Jiuge and his top fighters. Within a few hours, all hostile True Demons were annihilated. Of course, some scattered individuals managed to flee; not everyone was keen on fighting to the death.

"Brother Chen, take a look at this!" Mo Yu hurried into the command tent, excitedly holding a report.

"What is it that has you so excited?" Chen Jiuge asked, curious.

As he read the report, a look of shock spread across Chen Jiuge’s face. "1,372 Asuras?!"

"Yes! Nearly 300 of them are Heavenly Immortals. I also implemented the system of exchanging Law Crystals for Divine Skills, Secret Techniques, and other combat-enhancing resources. Most of the soldiers are willing to make the trade," Mo Yu said excitedly.

"That’s to be expected," Chen Jiuge nodded. "As the battles intensify, high Cultivation doesn’t always equate to strong combat prowess. Survival is paramount."

"These Law Crystals... set aside a portion as reserves. Use the rest to support those True Immortals who are close to a breakthrough. Of course, they’ll have to repay them after they advance. You can determine the specifics of the arrangements," Chen Jiuge instructed.

"Understood. But Brother Chen, what about those Asuras?"

"I’ll handle them personally. Take me to them."

These 1,000-plus Asura captives hadn’t surrendered merely to cling to life; in fact, these Asuras were among the strongest. This was because, according to the True Demon Clan’s perverse logic, the stronger the cultivator, the better their "taste."

Thus, these 300-plus Heavenly Immortal Asuras were from the cream of the crop of the annihilated Asura forces, and the same held true for the True Immortal Asuras among them.

As a Divine Son of the Asuras, Chen Jiuge’s very appearance instantly calmed the agitated Asura captives.

Roco, who had been chosen as their temporary leader, respectfully rose and saluted. "Divine Son, I am Roco, a subordinate of Divine Son Luo Longxiang."

"Luo Longxiang? Is he also nearby?" Chen Jiuge asked in surprise.

Roco shook his head. "Not exactly. We received Divine Son Luo Longxiang’s summons to come from the outside to provide support. However, we encountered the True Demon Clan en route and... were captured."

As he finished, Roco’s face was flushed with shame. To be descendants of the God of War and yet be captured... what an utter disgrace!

"I see," Chen Jiuge said, shaking his head. "But you appeared in a bad location. This is the most peripheral zone, and there are numerous True Demon Clan camps beyond it. With your current numbers, I’m afraid you wouldn’t be able to fight your way out."

Seeing Roco’s hesitation and unspoken plea, Chen Jiuge shook his head again. "I won’t escort you to him. I have my own mission: to eliminate the nearby True Demon Clan camps and weaken their overall strength in this region."

"You have two choices: join me, or attempt to make your own way."

Roco looked disappointed but said nothing more. He respectfully saluted Chen Jiuge once again and returned to the group of captives to discuss with his comrades.

Their discussion was evidently intense; it wasn’t clear what was said, but a few Asuras were even pinned to the ground and beaten. Finally, Roco, sporting a fresh black eye and limping, came back before Chen Jiuge.

THUD.

Roco knelt decisively and saluted. "We have decided to pledge our allegiance to you, Divine Son! We hope you can lead us to take revenge!"

Roco’s actions represented the will of the vast majority of the Asura captives. For an Asura, death is not frightening. Humiliation means losing face, but it isn’t fatal. However, the True Demon Clan treating them like livestock, like mere food—this has grievously wounded our pride! How can we, the once proud and arrogant Asuras, tolerate being reduced to this? It is absolutely unbearable!
