CHAPTER 27: DINNER PARTY.(2/2)
Even in the cold winter, Grace sat on the couch with a red, sweaty face, while Chris licked his ice cream right beside her. Neither of them had any idea Korean food could be THIS spicy.
"I should have made it less spicy, but I thought you could enjoy traditional foods with real spices."
"It’s alright, we did enjoy it, didn’t we, Grace?"
"Shhhh... Haaah!... Yeah.
Mrs. Kim smiled at Grace, who could barely talk. Min-So was trying her best to give Grace the chocolate- and mint-flavored ice cream, but Grace was refusing adamantly.
"She actually doesn’t like chocolate flavor, you can give her vanilla or something."
"Oh! Okay."
Min-So ran inside the kitchen once again. Chris also didn’t like this particular flavor, but he was trying to get rid of the tremendous heat that was attached to his tongue, and only pressing the ice cream on it will make him look more manly. Controlling your tears was no joke.
"So what do you guys do at a dinner party?"
"We play music? Then play games like charades.
"Music?"
"Yeah, music to relax the mood."
Nodding her head, Mrs. Kim stood up, then went to her small amplifier-type thing, which was placed on a floating shelf just above the fireplace, and then she tuned in music, which shocked both Chris and hyperventilating Grace.
🎵 Who let the dogs out?
Who, who, who, who, who? 🎵
"Not liking it?"
"I mean, this is not bad, but..."
"Eomma, you need to play a gentle song to change the mood light."
Min-So came just in time with a strawberry-flavored ice cream for Grace, giving her the ice cream, she instantly ran to the amplifier to change the song.
"Any suggestions?"
She turned to Chris and Grace with a smile after turning the sound down. Chris looked at Grace, who had recovered a lot, and Grace turned towards Min-So with a smile, her smile looked like she was up to something.
"Play Gangnam Style."
"Gangnam Style?"
"Really, Gangnam style?"
Both Chris and Min-So were stumped, while Mrs. Kim just sat back down calmly because she apparently has no idea what the hell this song is.
"Yeah, play it."
"Alright."
As the song tuned in, Min-So sat beside Grace and started gossiping, which didn’t feel right for Chris, he was also a bit jealous because he always assumed Grace’s only friend would be him in this life.
"Chris"
"Mrs. Kim"
"My name is Eun-So, so tell me about what you do to earn that much money."
"I sell electronics appliances to big consumer shops. Last night I sold about 10 pieces of 75-inch screens to Amazon for about $10,000 in cash, which is on top of my desk."

Close, I might be able to upgrade it today.
"Screens? Means what? "
"TV? Television, Samsung. I mostly sell Samsung and Sony screens."
"Oh! Nice, I can get you a great deal if you want, real Korean Samsung I can import."
"Ah! I sell real ones, and I am already in a contract with a Korean company for 3 more years, I can’t get from another person or company right now."
"Korean? Good, good. You like Korean drama?"
"Yes, I do. I’ve watched several of them."
"I wanted Min-So to be an actress, but she’s more into dancing. Look at her, she even took her new friend in."
Hearing that Chris turned right where Grace was seated, and although it was uncomfortable to watch Grace disgracing herself, she was actually dancing and vibing with Min-So, who was clearly a very, VERY good dancer.
What the fuck is happening?
His mouth went agape, paper thin. Min-So, who was supposed to be very small compared to Grace, was not looking that small anymore.
Eun-So just smiled and clapped, although she looked like she was all complaints, but when it mattered, she did support her daughter, she was even convincing enough for Grace to continue embarrassing herself.
08:32 PM.
"We should get going. It’s late, and tomorrow I have to deliver 30 screens. The payment just got in—$30,000 in my bank."

Seeing there were three of them in front of him, Chris lied first and then showed them his newly installed banking app, where the last transaction was a few seconds ago from an official Amazon account.
"You’re a hardworking person."
"Yeah, he really is. When we were kids, he used to carry me around in the playground when I was very tired."
"Wow, you are so lucky, Unni."
"I know, right?"
With how cringe they were behaving, Chris controlled himself not to facepalm himself. He knew what "Unni" means, it means "elder sister" in Korean culture, and what was shocking him was how easygoing Grace had become.
*BEEP*
"Let’s go, Grace. Thank you, Mrs. Kim and Min-So, for being so kind to us. Our cars are here."
Chris had texted his friend Noah to pick up his car, while Grace had her driver. Everyone in the living room could see two cars were waiting for them, so Mrs. Kim didn’t keep them anymore. Grace had to promise Min-So that she would someday come to a sleepover.
"Noah, Thanks, man, I really appreciate it."
"Keep it. Hey, can you lend me a few bucks if it’s not too much trouble? I think I’ve got a date."
"Congrats, man, Sure. How much do you need?"
"T...Two Hundred Bucks?"
Scratching his head with his developed, muscled hand, Noah asked, he was a bit embarrassed, but he was confident in their friendship.
"You know what? I will give you $500, but you have to follow me back home because I will get $10,000 in cash from Amazon."
