The Most Powerful Wealth System
Chapter 37. Speechless
CHAPTER 37: 37. SPEECHLESS
"Riki!" Deva came rushing over, approaching Riki who was sitting in front of a room door.
Riki looked up, looking paler than usual.
"How’s Vicky?" Riki asked. Deva crouched down in front of Riki, checking on him. But before Deva’s hand could touch him, Riki quickly pushed it away, "I’m fine, just answer my question."
"Vicky is asleep, I gave her sleeping pills."
Riki furrowed his brow, "You... why did you do that?"
"Don’t worry, it was the medicine Vicky put in my drink, then I switched our drinks. She’s in one of the rooms. I had to leave her quickly so I could meet you."
Riki breathed a sigh of relief, "Thank God. Let’s go quickly. I can’t stand being here—oh, let’s take this too."
"Red wine?"
Riki nodded, "Yes, there’s one bottle left. I don’t like wasting money that I earned with great difficulty. By the way, Deva, you drive the car."
"Alright."
They hurried to the parking lot. They got into Travis’s car because Deva’s car had broken down, and Travis used Riki’s car to go to his villa with Sean.
Their destination was Travis’s villa. It just so happened that Anton’s family was vacationing at their own villa, which was close to Travis’s villa.
Besides, after so many problems, they needed a break.
"Wait a minute, Deva, let’s go to the drive-thru up ahead, I’m hungry," Riki asked.
"You’re hungry? After eating so much at Jayden’s restaurant?" Deva asked.
"I threw it all up earlier."
Deva furrowed his brow, "Are you not used to alcohol?"
They had arrived at the drive-thru.
Riki ordered several burgers, spicy chicken wings, and iced tea.
After finishing his order, he answered Deva’s question.
"First, I don’t like alcohol... I was forced to drink it because of David. The second reason is because of David... ugh, I can’t talk about this now. So, please hold back your curiosity so you can drive this car safely to the villa."
Deva chuckled, seeing Riki looking so weak, as if he hadn’t eaten in two days.
"Don’t laugh! I’ll make you work hard tomorrow. We’ll investigate my uncle and aunt’s family."
"Sorry, I just think you’re so funny. It turns out you can act like this too, because the first time I met you, you seemed like a tough and mature young man. But it turns out you’re just like any other teenager."
Riki clicked his tongue in annoyance, "Maybe it’s because I look old."
"Eyy, no. You do look older than your actual age, but not that old."
"It’s the same, Deva!"
They fell silent when their order was finished. Deva insisted on paying for everything. Riki didn’t mind being paid for. Something free always tastes better.
The car drove back onto the busy streets.
The city was never quiet, always bustling with people of various social statuses.
In the past, Riki would have been one of them, still working late into the night. Struggling for a little money, so he could make the girl he loved happy.
But Riki was too stupid back then.
He shouldn’t have been thinking about women when he couldn’t even feed himself properly.
Deva just stared silently at Riki, who was eating his burger while daydreaming, staring blankly out the car window.
Deva thought Riki had a lot on his mind at that moment. So, he just stayed quiet, letting Riki get lost in his own thoughts.
The car had entered Travis’s villa.
Deva turned to Riki, who was getting ready to get out.
"Let me carry some—oh, okay."
Asking to carry some, Riki instead handed everything to Deva. Riki himself only carried his smartphone and a bottle of wine.
Travis came out of the villa, looking at the two of them with a surprised look.
Deva was carrying some fast food, while Riki was carrying a bottle of wine.
"Do you guys still want to party or what?" asked Travis.
"Is Sean asleep yet?" asked Riki.
Travis shook his head, "We’re watching a horror movie."
Hearing that, Deva chuckled, "So you’re scared and—"
"I’m not scared!" replied Travis, making it obvious that he was scared.
Deva laughed even harder, until Riki said,
"Let’s talk about David. I think you guys should know this now."
"Are you sure you don’t want to wait until tomorrow? It’s already midnight," asked Travis.
"No, I’m sure now is the right time, so I can sleep soundly until tomorrow."
They entered the villa.
Sean was sitting in front of a large television, relaxing as he watched a horror movie. Instead of being scared, he laughed as if he were watching a comedy.
"Oh, Riki, Deva!" Sean greeted them as soon as he heard them arrive.
"We need to talk, Sean. Can you stop watching the movie?" asked Riki.
Sean immediately turned off the television, "Sure! I’ve been waiting for you, did you find out anything?"
Riki took out his smartphone and searched for the video he had saved. Then he played the video so they could all see it.
Riki himself didn’t want to watch the recording a second time. He preferred to eat the rest of his burger and spicy chicken wings.
"Oh shit, this is crazy! Why couldn’t those two siblings think clearly? Are they both psychopaths?" muttered Travis, after they had finished watching everything.
Sean couldn’t say anything.
Deva himself was also speechless.
"Hey, say something!" urged Travis.
"You guys have to deal with this problem quickly, because all the evidence has been gathered, so I think it’s more than enough to punish them. People like them can’t be left alone," said Riki.
Sean suddenly stood up and walked away, heading for an empty room in the villa.
Deva ruffled her hair, frustrated with the situation, which for some reason was getting more and more chaotic.
"I’m sure Sean must be very shaken after finding out that David— I know that people have their own uniqueness, they can like the same gender, but... should he make death threats like that? He even intended to kidnap Sean. This is too much!" said Deva.
Riki grabbed his smartphone again and showed them something.
Travis and Deva furrowed their brows, surprised by the collection of videos Riki showed them.
"What is this?"
"I got it from David’s phone. He collected videos he got from hidden cameras," said Riki.
In the videos, there were many videos of Sean. There were videos of him changing clothes, in the bathroom, and even videos of Sean sleeping.
All the indecent videos David had collected about Sean made them speechless and angry.
"Bastard! Why did he do this! It’s a good thing Sean doesn’t know!"
"But I think he should know, Travis."
"And make him even more frustrated? I’m sure his mental state is already shattered. David has been like an older brother to Sean all this time, Deva."
Riki just stayed silent and let the two men argue. Then he left and went to the room Sean had entered.
As Riki had expected, Sean wasn’t asleep yet. He was just sitting there, curled up under a blanket.
"Sean?"
"I’m fine, Riki. Don’t worry about me."
How could Riki not care, if Sean was acting like that?
"Alright, but let’s sleep... don’t just sit there like that," Riki pleaded.
Sean smiled slightly, then lay down.
"I’ll leave you alone, because it seems like you need some time by yourself," Riki said.
Sean didn’t answer; he just turned his back to Riki.
That night was indeed very chaotic. But luckily, Riki was able to sleep soundly.
In the morning, he was awakened by the aroma of pancakes and soft butter.
Riki sat up, trying not to fall back asleep, because he had many plans he had made.
Once he was fully awake, he reached for two gold envelopes on the nightstand. They were clues from the system about his father and mother.
Riki had deliberately kept them, because he wasn’t ready to open them yet. But now he felt he was ready.
First, there was a second clue about his mother’s death.
Riki opened the gold envelope, then he was confused when he saw a photo inside.
It was a photo of Sandra, Anton’s mother, with Riki’s father. At that time, they were both very young. They were in a bar, with Riki’s father looking drunk.
However, the photo also had a letter with it. The letter contained an explanation about the photo.
— Sandra met Edwin at a bar when she was sad because her husband was cheating on her. Edwin listened intently, until he didn’t realize he had drunk too much. In his unconscious state, Edwin didn’t even know that he and Sandra had slept together that night. Sandra became pregnant afterwards. Anton is Edwin’s son.—
Riki’s eyes widened.
What kind of ridiculous explanation is this? No.
It was impossible that Anton was his brother.
No, no and NO!
This must be a lie.
[All of that is true, just think of it, why did Sandra kill your mother? Of course, because for years, she had been holding back her jealousy. So, she had planned to kill your mother long ago]
The previous CCTV footage showed Sandra giving something to her mother while she was lying in the hospital.
But what if it turned out that Sandra had been giving something to her mother for a long time before that, and that something was the cause of her mother’s illness?
Riki glanced at another gold envelope containing clues about his father’s death.
He wasn’t ready, but...
Wait a minute, Riki heard Sean’s voice from outside. Riki left the gold envelope and went out of the room.
