The Player's POV
Chapter 23: Bug [1]
CHAPTER 23: CHAPTER 23: BUG [1]
— I have never felt this happy in my entire life.
— I always thought that life was only black, which symbolized despair.
— But since meeting those two, I have felt more light.
Because Kael had promised Caster that during this time, he would always stay at the orphanage, taking care of the children, so he could not return to the city, enjoying the pleasures it brought.
But, who said that the orphanage was not fun?
It was true that this place was not very special, but if someone knew how to enjoy it, this place could be even better than an amusement park.
Day 2.
Today, these children wanted to help him prepare breakfast.
And because they all used the world’s most dangerous technique - puppy eyes, he could not refuse them.
But it seemed like this time, this was the worst decision he had ever made.
"Oh my god Ash! What happened to your fried egg?"
It was black, not slightly black, but like charcoal, like ink.
No one could eat it.
If someone ate it, they would definitely get terminal cancer, or, they could even die instantly.
"Huhu, I’m sorry, this is my first time cooking so..."
That wasn’t the end.
When he turned back, more than half of the fried egg had disappeared.
"...What the fuck?"
Without delay, Kael glanced around, then realized that Lily, not far away, was putting the eggs she had stolen into her mouth.
"Lily! Wait! Stop! Don’t be reckless! It’s dangerous!"
He immediately stopped everything, ran straight to Lily, took the egg from her mouth, and threw it into the trash can without hesitation.
What followed was a typical lecture from parents when their children did something wrong:
"Lily, listen, you can’t do that, understand? Because it’s dangerous, and that burnt egg is poisonous. No one, including me, can eat that without getting hurt."
At that moment, another problem arose.
BOOM!
A loud explosion rang out not far away, startling everyone, causing the children to cry out in fear.
Kael had forgotten to turn off the stove, and worse, he had always left the heat on at maximum.
In just a moment, everything had become noisy and chaotic.
The entire kitchen was destroyed... almost.
He had never felt so helpless before.
And who would have thought that the reason would be taking care of children?
He had thought that clearing the Tower of Glory game would be the hardest, but it seemed like he had found a worthy opponent today.
Beside him, Caster and Hans were covering their mouths, their bodies trembling, trying not to laugh out loud.
Many veins appeared on his forehead.
"Damn you two! If you have so much free time, then come help me!? Don’t just stand there being two useless people!"
Day 3.
The huge bathroom was filled with the laughter of children.
And of course, there were only boys here, no girls.
"Hey, Kael, why are you suddenly not allowing boys and girls to bathe together? After all, that is normal in this place."
Caster asked, his eyes truly pure and innocent.
And Kael, who was having to wash this kid’s back like a slave, had to pause and ponder for a moment.
If the person who had just asked that question was a middle-aged man, fat, smelly, dirty, he would have called the police right away.
But because the owner of the question was an innocent child who had never understood the nature of life, he couldn’t do that.
"You’re still young now, so I won’t explain. When you grow up, you’ll understand. And then, you’ll realize that what I’m doing is right."
That was a great answer!
Was Kael a genius!?
"...Well, if you don’t want to answer, that’s fine. But I advise you one thing: Prepare yourself."
"Huh? Prepare for what?" He tilted his head in confusion.
"...Everyone here... isn’t as easy to subdue as you think."
"Huh?"
The next second, the door to the bathroom was flung open.
And from outside, all the girls ran in one by one, shouting excitedly.
Without saying a word, they jumped straight into the hot spring, soaking with the other boys, playing happily with each other.
Making a mess of things.
By the time Kael reacted, realizing what had just happened, it was already too late.
"All you boys! Close your eyes! Don’t look, or you’ll be arrested for harassment!"
They didn’t do as he said.
On the contrary, the children became even more daring.
Splashing water on him.
"Hahahaha!"
"Give in, you monster!"
"We will defeat you!"
"Never underestimate children, monster!"
Kael had never been treated like this, not in the previous world, nor in this one.
He was so angry that his face turned purple.
If he didn’t fight back, these kids would definitely get even more aggressive.
"Well done, brats! Because I didn’t do anything to you, you think I’m easy to bully? You’re wrong!"
Not wasting any more time, he jumped into the bath, and began to use his experience, as well as the difference in strength, to fight back against these kids.
"Water fight!"
On the shore, Caster just stood there, watching everyone have fun.
A smile appeared on the corner of his lips, which even he didn’t realize.
He felt very satisfied and happy.
— I wish time could stop.
— Because then this happiness could last forever.
— But unfortunately, that couldn’t be true.
— All fun must come to an end.

Day 4, only a few minutes left until Day 5.
Even though Caster had been rescued, the countdown to Doom Bringer’s appearance was still there, and it was still running as if nothing had happened.
"Hey Kael, what exactly is your plan? That Tower Creature is about to appear, but all we’ve done up until now is play."
"Do you hate playing that much?"
"That’s not what I meant. Having fun is fine, but what about Doom Bringer?"
Kael placed a hand on his friend’s shoulder, soothing the worry in his heart.
"Don’t worry, I have a plan."
And the possibility of his plan succeeding was extremely high.
In the Tower of Glory, the reason Caster transformed into Doom Bringer was because of a problem that arose today, causing him to transform.
But since that experiment had ended long ago, obviously, he wouldn’t transform, and Doom Bringer wouldn’t be able to appear.
Here was the problem.
The mission to clear this floor was to defeat that Tower Creature, but because Kael had intervened, Doom Bringer wouldn’t be able to appear anymore.
If that was the case, what would happen?
How would everyone complete the mission of the 20th floor if Doom Bringer wasn’t born?
To be honest, he didn’t know either.
And that was his plan.
A problem would arise in the Tower, a bug.
The Tower wasn’t a perfect creation, just like any other ones, there were errors and bugs, but they were so small that no one could notice them.
But Kael could.
If the error was not discovered, nothing would happen.
But if the error was found, causing chaos to the entire system, something would definitely occur.
And it would not be small at all.
[Time before Doom Bringer appears.]
[3.]
[2.]
[1.]
[0.]
Nothing appeared.
[Error.]
[Error.]
[Error.]
The entire 20th floor was immediately dyed red.
And Kael just sat there, enjoying, and waiting.
[The source of the error is found.]
[Climber - Kael Draven, I regret to inform you that you will be forced to meet the Tower Creators right now.]
A smile appeared on the corner of his lips.
The next moment, he was teleported to another location.
