The Pregnant Treasured Little Wife: Master Lancaster's Nightly Coaxing
Chapter 89: Gasping for Life
CHAPTER 89: CHAPTER 89: GASPING FOR LIFE
"Serena Yeats, even if someone comes to save you, you won’t survive. Come down with me; we’ll be companions!"
The words fell.
The man was just about to reach the factory door.
"Bang..."
The iron door of the factory fell down with a crash, pinning him beneath it before he could react.
"Katherine Sinclair, calm down..."
Serena Yeats hadn’t finished speaking.
Katherine Sinclair lifted the fruit knife in her hand and stabbed towards her.
Serena Yeats immediately passed out from the pain, her clothes stained red with blood, droplets falling to the ground, one drop, two drops...
More blood flowed out.
Katherine Sinclair pulled out the fruit knife and stabbed Serena Yeats again.
"Bang!"
She was kicked away by someone.
The intense pain twisted her face into a grimace.
"Ah!"
She screamed in agony.
The other two hooligans saw their partner trapped under the door and ran away long ago.
The bodyguards came in quickly.
They got the situation under control.
In no time.
The two hooligans who ran were captured and brought back.
When Elias Lancaster saw Serena Yeats tied to a chair, his heart felt as if it would burst from pain.
Serena Yeats’s clothes were torn, one foot without a shoe, a pool of blood on the ground.
Blood kept flowing from her abdomen, and her body was covered in bruises.
Elias Lancaster’s trembling hands untied the ropes binding her, embracing her gently.
"Baby, don’t be afraid, we’re going to the hospital now."
Elias Lancaster picked her up and strode out.
Just as he reached the factory door, he ran into Ronan Keaton who arrived.
Ronan Keaton couldn’t believe the sight of his critically injured sister in Elias Lancaster’s arms.
"Move aside."
Elias Lancaster shouted coldly.
Ronan Keaton immediately stepped aside and followed after recovering.
In the car.
Elias Lancaster, full of concern, looked at the person in his arms. Excessive blood loss made her face pale.
She was so broken that he dared not apply any pressure, fearing she might break apart.
"Drive faster, hurry."
He felt her life slipping away.
He couldn’t imagine what he’d become if she died.
The bodyguard drove towards the nearest hospital at the fastest speed.
Elias Lancaster laid Serena Yeats flat on the seat, took out the medical box from the car, and with trembling hands, treated her wounds.
A simple disinfection and bandaging, trying to stop the bleeding first...
No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t stop the bleeding.
His eyes turned bloodshot, tears falling down.
Trembling, he spoke to the bodyguard ahead, "Drive faster."
The bodyguard glanced at the GPS, "Master Lancaster, the gas pedal is floored, we’ll be there soon, five minutes to the nearest hospital."
Looking at Serena Yeats’s lifeless form, Elias Lancaster felt soul-crushing pain.
He didn’t want to see her like this, sick and injured; he only wanted to see her healthy, happy, and joyful.
The anxiety on the way made the short five minutes feel like an endless road, torturing him.
Just as he was about to explode.
They finally arrived at the hospital.
Elias Lancaster got out of the car with her in his arms and rushed her into the emergency room.
Sitting outside, he stared blankly at the blood on his hands, his mind full of Serena Yeats’s nearly lifeless shattered form.
Until a hand heavily patted his shoulder, bringing him back to reality, looking at the person next to him with vacant eyes.
Seeing it was Ronan Keaton, he lowered his head again.
"It’ll be fine, Minnie will be okay."
Ronan Keaton’s comfort was feeble.
Elias Lancaster said nothing, continuing to stare blankly.
A moment later.
Brandon Grayson and Jensen Sterling also arrived.
Upon seeing Elias Lancaster’s state, they were momentarily stunned.
They prayed silently that nothing would happen to Serena Yeats, nothing at all...
Not long ago, Elias Lancaster secretly invited them to help organize the wedding.
If something really happened... they couldn’t fathom what Elias Lancaster might do!
Elias Lancaster’s reddened eyes stayed fixed on his hands; he didn’t know what Serena Yeats would face inside the emergency room.
If possible, he would rather take Serena’s place suffering this torment.
Those around sensed something was wrong with Elias Lancaster, and no one spoke, all watching the lit emergency room lamp.
Every minute, every second of waiting was extraordinarily agonizing.
Someone came to report the situation, Elias Lancaster only responded with a hum.
No one knew if he actually listened.
Suddenly, a crisp ringtone shattered the silence.
Everyone turned towards the sound.
Ronan Keaton glanced at his phone and then Elias Lancaster.
"I’ll take the call."
Then, he walked away.
Ten minutes later.
Ronan Keaton returned, crouching beside Elias Lancaster, looking at him.
"We can’t hide it anymore; my parents are on their way now. You were at the amusement park today, and so were they. They just wanted to watch Minnie from afar, couldn’t have imagined..."
Ronan Keaton licked his lips.
"Elias, I hope you understand my parents; we’ve searched for so many years, finally have news, and then such an incident occurred. We couldn’t even recognize her..."
Ronan Keaton choked up saying this.
Elias Lancaster quietly listened, still silent.
Brandon Grayson and Jensen Sterling, from confusion to conclusion through Ronan’s words, understood clearly.
Brandon Grayson’s heart surged with excitement, recalling little Minnie Keaton’s adorable form.
Back then, she was tiny and cute, trailing behind him calling Shane.
Thinking of Serena Yeats’s current state, he felt remorse, wondering why he hadn’t realized earlier; she was right before him all along.
He turned to Elias Lancaster.
Elias Lancaster remained unmoving.
Internally, he didn’t know how many times he called Serena Yeats "baby," "wife."
After a long while.
The J Keaton Family arrived; just as they were about to speak, Ronan Keaton stopped them.
Ronan Keaton took them to the side.
Elias Lancaster only dully glanced towards their departing direction, saying nothing.
Time passed, minute by minute.
It’s been three hours, and no one has come out yet.
Everyone kept waiting.
Brandon Grayson had many questions but knew now wasn’t the time; he sat beside Elias Lancaster.
"I’ll have someone bring some food, you should eat a bit; once she’s out, you’ll have to care for her."
Elias Lancaster looked at the emergency room door and nodded.
In the next moment.
The emergency room light went out, and the doctor emerged.
Elias Lancaster dashed forward and asked, "Doctor, how is my wife?"
The doctor took off his mask and said, "The surgery was successful, the patient lost a lot of blood and needs rest, first to the ICU, then she can be transferred to a ward once she wakes."
Elias Lancaster sighed with relief, his body swaying slightly.
"Thank you!" His voice was hoarse.
Then.
They saw nurses wheeling out a hospital bed.
