The Prime Minister Seduced Me to have Babies!
Chapter 70: Catching Eels
CHAPTER 70: CHAPTER 70: CATCHING EELS
Liu Lang blinked, "Catching eels."
Yun Jiao got interested, "Let’s go, I’ll go with you."
San Ya ran out from inside, "I want to go too."
Just as Yun Jiao was about to leave, she saw Jiang Erlang standing at the door of the west wing on the opposite side, staring at her with a gloomy face. She ran to the kitchen to get the newly bought chopper and, not caring whether she would scare the two kids Liu Lang and San Ya, stuck it in her belt and then walked out.
Mrs. Chen stood at the door watching, and after the three of them walked far away, she worriedly went inside and said to Jiang Youzhi, "I see that black-hearted scoundrel Erlang is still targeting Yun Jiao like this. This way is not a solution."
"You can be a thief for a thousand days, but you can’t guard against thieves for a thousand days."
Jiang Youzhi lay in bed both angry and anxious, but he couldn’t move his legs.
He closed his eyes and clenched his fists. Jiang Erlang, when his legs healed, he would find a way to deal with him.
Yun Jiao held San Ya’s hand and followed Liu Lang to the riverbank.
Liu Lang dug up a few earthworms for bait, cut them into pieces, and strung them on the hooks. Yun Jiao took the fishing rod, "Let me fish, I’m good at it. You go catch eels."
Liu Lang said with a grin, "Alright, sister-in-law, just wait to eat eel."
He took off his shoes and socks, placed them aside, walked a bit further, and went into the shallows.
San Ya ran over with a bucket in hand.
Yun Jiao was still worried about the safety of the two children, so she kept looking at the float and then turned to check on them.
From a distance, she couldn’t see clearly, but she saw Liu Lang feeling around in the water for a while and then putting something in the bucket, followed by San Ya’s excited shouts, probably indicating they’d caught eels.
Just as she was thinking this, she saw the float sink, and Yun Jiao was thrilled, lifting the fishing rod forcefully upwards.
A carp slightly longer than a chopstick leaped out of the water.
Yun Jiao reeled it in, took the fish off, threw it on the ground, and then threaded another piece of earthworm, tossing the fishing rod back in.
It seemed there were not many fish in this small river, and only after quite a while did she catch another bream and a crucian carp.
Looking at Liu Lang and San Ya, they had already wandered further and further away.
Yun Jiao shouted, "Liu Lang, don’t go too far! It’s about time we head back."
"Coming!" Liu Lang’s voice came from the distance.
Soon enough, Liu Lang and San Ya came back over.
Yun Jiao peeked into the bucket and exclaimed with delight, "So many!"
Liu Lang smiled proudly, "This is nothing. If our family still had fields, there’d be even more eels there."
Yun Jiao tossed a few fish into the bucket as well, and just as she was about to leave, she spotted a turtle crawling by the river. With a swift step, she went over and grabbed it.
The turtle’s four paws were waving around, and San Ya touched it, causing the turtle’s head and paws to retract into its shell.
San Ya reached out her hand, "Sister-in-law, I want to play with it, give it to me."
Yun Jiao handed the turtle to her and picked up the fishing rod to head home.
At home, she separated the fish and eels into two different basins for keeping.
Seeing that it was almost noon, Yun Jiao rolled up her sleeves and was about to make lunch when Guihua came over with a basket.
On top of the basket were two bunches of greens and a few carrots. Under the greens was a piece of meat.
Yun Jiao had an agreement with Guihua, since there was no room at her house, to keep the remaining two chickens at Guihua’s place. Every day, Guihua would buy a pound of meat and bring some greens over, while Yun Jiao would give her ten coins a day as a reward, and the cost of the meat was accounted for separately.
She still had the mindset of a lady from her previous life, accustomed to paying for others’ time and labor.
