In the distance, Samantha and Mason seemed to have heard the noise from this side and quickly pulled apart.

Samantha adjusted her cor and hair, stepping out from the shadows. Upon seeing Sloane and her mother, she quietly sighed in relief.

“Mom, Sloane, are you both out here to sober up?” Samantha’s cheeks flushed slightly, and her lipstick was smudged without her realizing it.

Helen saw Samantha and immediately wore a loving, gentle smile, pletely different from the fierce look she had earlier when facing Sloane. “Sammy, why didn’t you put on a jacket beforeing out? Be careful, you might catch a cold.”

As she spoke, she affectionately walked forward, holding Samantha’s hand tightly and teasing, “Look at youi, /iyour lipstick is all smeared. Go and touch up your makeup.”

Samantha, upon hearing this, instinctively raised her hand to touch her lips, and her face turned bright red. She shyly lowered her head. “Mom…”

“Hahaha! Sammy, don’t be shy!” Helenughed even harder.

Sloane, forced to watch the mother–daughter disy, rolled her eyes in irritation.

Only then did Samantha notice Sloane’s presence and turned her gaze to Helen. “Mom, about Sloane’s marriage…”

“It’s settled,” Helen nced at Sloane. “Madam Aubrey wants everything to be simple so she can marry Mr. Hawthorne as soon as possible.”

Samantha’s eyes brightened. That meant Lucas didn’t have much time left. Thinking about the promise Mason had made to her earlier, she quietly rejoiced.

Earlier at the banquet, Aubrey had only appeared for a short while, but she exuded an impressive aura. The diamond bracelet on her wrist alone was worth a small fortune.

Samantha imagined a future where she could live that way, wishing Lucas would die immediately.

Sloane saw the expression on her face and knew exactly what she was thinking. She was sure to be disappointed. A sense of relief washed over her as she waited for the drama to unfold.

The Hawthorne family’s banquet ended quickly. The Rivers family, although unaware of what had happened, had achieved their goals and left happily.

The Hawthorne Mansion remained brightly lit, with some rejoicing and others worried.

Lucas, who had been diagnosed with little time left, had regained consciousness.

“Benjamin, how is Lucas?” Lucas‘ grandma, Tessa Whitmore, gripped her cane tightly, her eyes full of anxiety and anticipation, her voice trembling slightly.

The doctor, Benjamin Hughes, stunned, stared at Lucas in disbelief. “This is truly a miracle! Lucas‘ condition has stabilized, and his vital signs are gradually returning to normal. With proper care, he will slowly recover.”

It was hard to believe that the person who had been given a life–threatening diagnosis just the day before had not only woken up in a single day but was also rapidly recovering. This was a medical miracle.

Upon hearing this, Tessa cried tears of joy, sping her hands together and muttering, “Thank goodness! May the universe bless him!”

Andrew, standing nearby, was also moved to tears. He quickly walked to Lucas‘ bedside, his voice choked with emotion. “Mr. Hawthorne, thank goodness you’re okay, You’re alright!“.

Even though Sloane had already said Lucas was fine, it wasn’t until Benjamin’s diagnosis that Andrew finally felt relieved.

Mason’s face was pale, his back teeth clenched, but he forced a smile and said, “Lucas, you’re awake, thank goodness.”

Lucas‘ sharp gaze locked onto Mason, and a faint smile curled on his lips. However, the smile didn’t reach his eyes. “Mason, I heard you’ve been handling thepany affairs while I’ve been out. Now that I’m awake, I suppose you won’t have to work so hard anymore.”
