Chapter 212 The Legendary Queen
Jill froze the moment she heard Sloane’s words; her eyes went wide with shock.
“You ended it?” Jill finally found her voice, disbeliefcing her tone. “But why?”
Sloane took a sip of her bubble tea, her expression calm, as if she were talking about somethingpletely mundane. “No big reason. I just felt the engagement was too much trouble for me, so I broke it off.”
Jill was momentarily speechless. The look on her face shifted from stunned, to confused, and finally to something more like helpless resignation. She scratched her head and muttered, “But Mr. Hawthorne’s so amazing. You were really okay letting him go?”
Sloane chuckled, her tone teasing. “Didn’t you just isay /ihe was a jerk and you’d never idolize him again? What, are you actually a fan?”
Jill immediately looked a little embarrassed. “I just thought he was the one who wronged you…”
“But honestly, it’s probably a good thing the engagement’s off,” Jill said, raising her brows. “That whole ‘marry for good luck‘ thing was way too unfair to you. Sure, Mr. Hawthorne is incredible, but you’re no slouch either! You’re a top student, a core member of ckhawk, and a future legend in the making! If Lucas lets you slip through his fingers, he’s the one who’ll regret it.”
She threw an arm around Sloane’s shoulders. “Anyway, I’m with you–no matter what.”
Sloane’s lips curved into a faint smile; warmth shimmered in her eyes.
“Then do something for me.”
Jill immediately nodded, pounding her chest like she was taking an oath. “Don’t worry–I got this.”
Jill worked fast. That very night, a bombshell post exploded on the school forum.
The headline was impossible to miss: “Top of Her ss, Triple Major, ckhawk Core Member–Stonebridge’s Legendary Queen, Sloane!”
The post included snapshots of Sloane’s transcript, her ss schedule, and her contributions to ckhawk. It even featured a few pictures from her time at training camp. The moment it went live, it lit the student body on fire.
“Oh my! Sloane’s triple–majoring inputer science, physics, iand /iarchitecture? How does she even have the mental energy for that?”
“She’s not just top of theputer science department–she’s a core member of ckhawk too! That’s insane!”
“I used to think she only got into Stonebridge because of Lucas. I take it all back— she’s a beast. From now on, she’s my goddess!”
“Sloane’s definitely the belle of theputer science department!”
“Excuse me? She’s taking architecture sses too, she’s our department’s belle!”
“You’re both wrong. She’s studying physics as well. Clearly, she belongs to the physics department!”
The debate on the forum got more and more heated. Students from all three departments were fighting over which one Sloane truly “belonged” to. Someone even started a poll to settle which department got to im her as their campus ollien. /li/ol
night, Sloane’s name became the talk of the entire school. Her academic d, her talents, her looks, even her broken engagement–became hot topics one buzzed about.
Once they got out of the crowd, Jill shot Sloane a proud wink. “Well? Not bad, right? Now the whole school knows how amazing you are!”
Slope gave her a thumbs–up. “You crushed it.”
vu’ve always kept such a low profile. Why the sudden switch?” Jill asked, ed.
