The Real Heiress Rules the World

Chapter 213 ying the Game Backward
Helen had clearly been restrained by some kind of spell, there was no point trying to get information out of her. So Sloane decided to flip the script. Judging by Helen’s attitude toward her, it was obvious that whoever was pulling the strings didn’t want to see her doing well. That only made Sloane more determined to shine–to live well, to stand out–until the person behind it all lost their patience and slipped up.
The moment news broke that Sloane had been dumped by the Hawthorne family, the first person to lose it was Helen from the main branch. Her youngest son had just had his arm snapped by Sloane, yet she’d faced zero consequences. There was no way Helen could let that go.
As soon as the engagement was called off, Helen rushed straight to Madam Mathilda.
“Mom, Sloane got dumped by Lucas,” Helen announced the second she stepped through the door, her voice filled with schadenfreude.
“That quickly?” Madam Mathilda asked coolly, her tone heavy with displeasure.
Helen nodded, a smug edge to her voice. “Yep. The Hawthorne Group officially called it a mutual cancetion, but everyone knows Lucas was the one who wasn’t satisfied with her as a fiancée. He ended it.”
She practically hissed through gritted teeth. “Finally, that little tramp got what she deserved!”
Mathilda frowned, her tone unwilling. “The Hawthorne family ending the engagement is bad news for us. We won’t be able to count on their connections and resources anymore.”
Helen let out a coldugh, ced with contempt. “Mom, seriously? You still think that useless girl was going to bring us any benefits? She’s a jinx. Ever since she came back to the main house, the Rivers family hasn’t had a single peaceful day.”
“Don’t hesitate anymore!” Helen pressed, seeing Madam Mathilda hesitate. “Now that Sloane’s been dumped by the Hawthorne family, she’spletely useless to

Mathilda furrowed her brow, her voice carrying a trace of uncertainty. “But Sloane still carries the Rivers family blood. If we publicly cut her off, what will people think of us?b” /b
Helen scoffed again, her tone sharp and venomous. “Who cares what they think? Sloane’s a disgrace who doesn’t deserve to be part of the Rivers family. We’ll just release a public statement saying she was immoral and disrespectful, that’s why the Hawthorne family called it off. That way, everyone will me her and not us.”
Mathilda sat in silence for a moment, then gave a slight nod. “Fine. I’ll leave it to you.”
“Got it. I’ll take care of everything–perfectly.” Helen left, practically beaming.
“Useless trash,” Mathilda muttered coldly, leaning back in her chair with disappointment.
Soon, the Rivers family’s main branch released an official statement cutting all ties with Sloane.
The wording was harsh, using her of being “morally corrupt and cruel to her own kin,” and iming her behavior had seriously damaged the family’s reputation. Therefore, the main house had decided to publicly sever ties with her.
Mathilda no longer showed the slightest concern about Sloane. She didn’t even bat an eye at Helen’s escting efforts to retaliate. In her view, Sloane held no more value and wasn’t worth the effort.
The main branch’s reaction exposed their vile, two–faced nature for all to see.
When Sloane saw the statement, her expression didn’t flicker in the slightest. She had expected this move from the beginning, truthfully, this was exactly what she wanted.
The Rivers family’s main house was nothing more than a group of opportunistic hypocrites.
Their announcement had achieved what Sloane had hoped for, with the main family cutting her off, their interference stopped entirely. Atst, she had some
peace.
But unexpectedly, it was Larry who showed up at school looking for her.
