    When Lucas brought Sloane back to the vi, Molly and the butler were already standing at the entrance waiting. The moment Sloane stepped out of the car, Molly’s eyes turned red, and she rushed over with excitement.

    The butler beamed beside her, nodding enthusiastically. “Ms. Sloane, it’s been three years. You had us all so worried.”

    Sloane smiled gently, her tone warm. “Molly, it’s been a long time.”

    Lucas stood to the side, watching her greet Molly and the butler, a quiet warmth rising in his chest.

    Just then, Madam Tessa came hurrying down the stairs. She’d already gone to bed, but the moment she heard Sloane had returned, she threw on a coat and rushed down.

    “Sloane!” Her voice was filled with joy and concern. “You’re finally back! Come, let me see-did you lose weight?”

    Sloane stepped forward and took her hand lightly. “Madam, I’m doing well. Please don’t worry.”

    Madam Tessa looked her over carefully, eyes full of tender affection. “You child… gone for three years without a single word. And that poison-has it been cleared? Are you still feeling unwell anywhere?”

    Sloane smiled, her tone light. “The poison’s been cured. My body’s recovered well. I just needed some time to recuperate, which is why I didn’te back sooner.”

    Lucas stood off to the side, and guilt tugged hard at his heart. In his excitement; he hadn’t even asked whether her poison had been cured or how her body was doing. Now, hearing her speak so casually of something so serious, he felt his chest tighten even more.

    Madam Tessa patted Sloane’s hand, her tone filled with relief. “Good, good, that’s all that matters. Molly’s already gone to prepare something warm to eat, and your room has been made up. Rest first-we’ll talk

    tomorrow.”

    Sloane nodded. “Thank you, Madam.”

    Molly walked over with a bowl of steaming soup, her face glowing with joy. “Ms. Sloane, have some soup first to warm up. I’ll go prep your room. I promise it’ll be exactly the way it was.”

    Sloane epted the bowl with a smile. “Thank you, Molly. I appreciate it.”

    Molly waved her hands. “It’s no trouble at all. We’re just thrilled you’re home.”

    Madam Tessa watched Sloane sipher soup, eyes brimming with affection. She turned to Lucas and said. “Lucas, stay and talk with Sloang. I’ll go rest. Let you young people have some time.”

    Lucas nodded. “Good night, Grandma. Rest well.”

    After she left, the living room grew quiet, leaving only Lucas and Sloane.
