Ginnie ignored Larry’s warning, her smile undeterred. “Mr. Whitney, there’s no need to be so distant. I’m just saying-we could work together. Help each other get what we want.”
Larry frowned, his tone skeptical. “Work together? What do you mean?”
Her smile brightened, her voice smooth and coaxing. “You like Sloane, I like Lucas. If we team up to break them apart, we’ll both benefit.”
Larry’s eyes chilled, his voice low and sharp. “Whatever happens between you and Lucas is your business. But if you think I’ll let you use me as your pawn, you’re dead wrong.”
He turned to leave.
But Ginnie wasn’t giving up that easily. She followed, trying again. “Larry, we both know Sloane and Lucas have aplicated past. If we do nothing, they’ll end up back together. And when that happens, you and I… we won’t even have a chance.”
Larry suddenly stopped.
Ginnie thought she was getting through-until his hand mped around her throat.
Her face drained of color as panic set in. She gasped, stunned. “M-Mr. Whitney… what are you…?”
Larry’s gaze was icy, his voice deadly calm. “I told you, I don’t care what goes on between you and Lucas. But if you so much as try to drag Sloane into your schemes, I will make you regret ever being born.”
She wed at his hand, struggling for breath. “I-I get it… please… let go…”
With a sharp motion, he released her. Ginnie dropped to the ground, gasping and coughing, her face ashen..
She stared after him, shaking with rage. “Psycho! You’re all psychos!”
Meanwhile, Lucas spotted Sloaneing back and quickly approached her, worry written all over his face. “Where were you?”
“Just walking around,” she replied without pause, brushing past him toward Jill. “Jill, why didn’t you wait for me?”
Jill had been held back by Samson earlier and had dropped her n to confront Lucas, but she wasn’t
exactly feeling charitable toward him anymore either. She grabbed Sloane’s hand and led her aside for a private chat.
Lucas could sense something had changed. Sloane was keeping her distance-and he had no idea why. Every time he tried to talk to her, she found a reason to excuse herself.
From a distance, Ginnie watched the tension between them with glee. Sensing the opportunity, she suggested cheerfully, “Why don’t we all join the vineyard treasure hunt?”
To celebrate the opening of the estate, the stall had prepared a light-hearted game a scavenger hunt for wine-themed trinkets hidden around the vineyard. The group that found the most items would win a

Samson, catching on to the awkward atmosphere, immediately jumped in. “I love it! Sounds like a great idea!”
He gave Lucas a meaningful look. “So… how are we dividing into teams?”
Lucas nced at Sloane, who remained still. He was about to approach her when Ginnie suddenly stepped into his path.
Her bright eyes locked onto his. “Lucas, let’s be on the same team, okay?”
