The boy in white turned toward the sound of the call. As soon as he spotted Jill, his face lit up with a gentle smile, and he walked over at a calm, steady pace.
He carried himself with quiet confidence, his features clean and attractive, his eyes full of a soft, almost unceable warmth.
When he reached them, Cameron looked politely toward Sloane, a question in his gaze. Jill beamed proudly as she made the introductions. “This is my awesome new friend, Sloane Rivers. Sloane, this is Cameron rk–he and I grew up together.”
Cameron gave a warm smile and nodded to Sloane. His voice was smooth and gentle. “Hi, Sloane.”
Sloane smiled back. “Hi.”
“Ohe on, enough with the polite hellos already. Let’s go celebrate or something,” Jill said, already tugging Sloane along.
“Wait….” Sloane suddenly remembered Samson, who’d vanished who knows where.
“Sloane.” Speak of the devil–Samson came walking up at that exact moment.
“Uncle Samson?” Jill immediately straightened up at the sight of him.
Samson looked surprised to see her, then chuckled. “Jill? What are you doing here?”
“I was waiting for Cameron,” she answered honestly.
Cameron nodded and smiled politely at Samson. “Mr. Samson. I just got back to the country. I missed the original entrance exam for Stonebridge, so I’m taking the special one today.”
Samson raised a brow at the formal greeting, then said, “With your ability, you’ll have no problem passing
Cameron gave a modest smile.
Sloane quietly watched the exchange, frowning slightly at their choice of words

and the way they spoke to each other.
Noticing her confusion, Samson exined briefly, “Jill’s my older brother’s daughter.”
Sloane nodded slightly at that, not pushing for details.

Jill, on the other hand, looked between them with bright, curious eyes. “Uncle Samson, how do you know Sloane?” And from the way they interacted, they seemed pretty close too.
Samson could tell she was already cooking up some wild theory and flicked her on the forehead. “What kind of nonsense are you dreaming up in that head of yours?”
“Ow!” Jill yelped, stumbling back while rubbing her head.
Cameron shifted like he wanted to step forward—but in the end, stayed where he
was.
Samson gave Jill a look. “She’s Sloane.”
Jill blinked. “I know that.”
They had just introduced themselves, after all.
Samson rolled his eyes, but Cameron caught on quickly and said gently, “You mean ithe /iSloane Rivers? The one engaged to Mr. Hawthorne?”
Jill’s eyes went wide with shock. “You’re the one who’s engaged to Mr. Hawthorne?”
Sloane found her expression amusing and smiled. “Yep. That’s me.”
“Oh my god! Oh my god!” Jill squealed, circling Sloane a few times in disbelief. Her face screamed this is insane. “I can’t believe I just made friends with Mr. Hawthorne’s fiancée. This is unreal!”
Samson couldn’t take her over–the–top reaction and rolled his eyes again. “Alright, that’s enough. Quit embarrassing yourself and go do something useful.”
But fill wasn’t the least bit offended. She linked her arm with Sloane’s and said,
“Uncle Samson, we already made ns to go celebrate. So I’m taking Sloane with
ine.”

Samson didn’t object right away. After thinking about it, he said, “Then go to Eastgate Lounge. It’s ours–safe enough.”
Jill lit up even more. She asked, eyes gleaming with anticipation, “Does that mean we can use the VIP room?”
