Chapter 66 Forum Frenzy

Chapter 66 Forum Frenzy

Cameron held his phone up to Jill. On the screen was the forum post that had the entire school buzzing.

Someone had used Sloane of using her connection with Lucas to secure her special admission spot. They even imed she’d gotten the test answers from him in advance. The post pointed out she’d scored 745 on the special admissions exam -higher than this year’s SAT valedictorian.

The post also dug into her past, exposing that she’d dropped out of middle school and using her of a chaotic private life. There were all kinds of nasty, unverified allegations.

“Bullshit!” Jill scrolled through the post, her face burning red with fury. “This is total garbage! Sloane is nothing like what they’re saying!”

She balled her fists and turned, ready to storm off and confront whoever had written it.

But before she could break through the crowd, a ripple of noise spread.

“They’re here–the academic office is here!”

No one knew who shouted it, but heads instantly swiveled toward the approaching staff.

With serious expressions, the faculty quickly pinned the results to the notice board. In a sh, the crowd went dead silent. Every eye zeroed in on the single sheet of paper.

Jill forgot all about the post. She rushed to the front and scanned the list–Sloane’s name was right there at the top, with a massive 745 next to it. She was about to cheer when she sensed the mood around her shift.

The murmurs began immediately.

“So it’s true–just like the forum post said. A 745? That score’s insane. It can’t be real.”

“Right? If the leaker knew her exact score, they probably know more than we do. I

bet Sloane really did cheat.”

“No way someone who dropped out of middle school could beat the SAT valedictorian. It’s just not believable.”

“If you have the answers ahead of time, anyone could ace the exam.”

Jill’s face turned scarlet. She shouted back, “You’re all talking crap! Sloane earned that score fair and square!”

But her voice was lost in the sea of suspicion and gossip.

She opened her mouth to argue again, but Cameron pulled her out of the crowd.

“What are you doing? I need to tell them off!” she snapped.

“Calm down,” Cameron said gently. “You’re wasting your breath arguing with them. We should be finding out who made the post.”

Jill frowned, then nodded slowly. “Fine. How do we do that?”

Cameron led her to the side, eyes sharp. “The forum uses real–name registration. Even if the post was scrubbed, if we can get into the backend database, we can figure out who posted it.”

Jill’s eyes widened. “But how? The backend is locked down–that’s the school’swork control center!”

Cameron paused, then said, “I know someone. Li Ming, a senior in theputer science department. I’ll isee /iif he can help.”

“Oh my god, yes–go now!” Jill’s eyes lit up as she gave him a little shove.

Cameron sighed. “Alright. I’ll go. You find Sloane and wait for me. I’ll meet you bothter.”

After ending the call with fill, Sloane looked up to find herself surrounded by a group of students. Her eyes narrowed.

“Something you need?”

“You’re Sloane?” the girl at the front stared hard at her.

The rumors said she’d grown up in the sticks–a dark, ugly country bumpkin. But

the girl in front of them had porcin skin and delicate features. Give her a few more years, and even campus beauty Dreame Zimmerman might be

overshadowed.
