The Red Dragon Just Wants To Do As It Pleases
Chapter 228 - 182: That's My Rental!_2
Let's not even mention the influence of restraining the Spider Goddess Rose during the divine war.
Christoph, their ancestor who had single-handedly blasted through most of the Gloomy Region as a Dragon back in the day, had only recently descended with his retinue of Dragonkin vassals.
It was fine for David Uthos to sustain some injuries; Red Dragons never cared much for such things.
But if this Red Dragon descendant, whose talents were clearly no less than Pafila's, were to die in their academy, his brain destroyed by the waters of the Styx River...
Then the trouble would truly be immense!
Master Sofito and Euniselen exchanged a solemn look, nodded, and then called out to everyone, "Follow me."
The next moment, a scene unfolded that perhaps no student present would ever forget.
Dozens of renowned Elf scholar-professors simultaneously opened Teleportation Portals and vanished, following the planar coordinates to where David had been banished.
The sight was magnificent.
However, as soon as they arrived, they found themselves in a vast ocean, with no horizon in sight.
The dean had indeed banished the Red Dragon to the Elemental Plane of Water.
Everyone had initially thought this would prevent their opponent from appearing in his more destructive Red Dragon form.
But as soon as their vision cleared from the Eagle Eye Spell and they took in their surroundings, they were stunned. The 'Silver Dragon' had reverted to his true Red Dragon form. His maw seemed to contain a rising sun, and the ice lances from "Sagim's Icy Domain" that had bristled from his body like a porcupine's quills, along with the surrounding ice crystals, were rapidly melting.
"Zenasaneya!" For a moment, the newly arrived Elf professors erupted in curses.
BOOM! The Dragon Breath that had been building in David's mouth erupted with a deafening roar.
It was like a thermobaric bomb detonating in the ocean, its power comparable to hundreds of tank shells exploding simultaneously.
The seawater around David instantly vaporized as if by magic. Countless streams of rising vapor and deep-sea water, heated to over a thousand degrees, were then violently pushed and squeezed in every direction by David's Shackle Release Spell—a display of power comparable to a divine cataclysm.
The Elf magic professors who witnessed this were utterly dumbfounded.
A classic defensive spell from the Abjuration school, yet this Dragon had forcefully twisted it into a large-scale weapon of mass destruction.
「Back at Dewensen Academy」
The grounds, recently quieted by the departure of numerous professors to other planes, had been filled with Elves—some excited, some anxious—murmuring amongst themselves. Suddenly, they all felt an inexplicable wave of dread.
They saw the dozens of Teleportation Gates simultaneously erupt like geysers, spewing forth colossal columns of steaming water.
The professors who had seemingly departed for the Elemental Plane of Water returned just as abruptly, most looking rather bedraggled; some stood, others leaned for support, and a few lay prone on the ground.
One teacher, who had been closest to the blast and whose magical armor had been shattered, hadn't had time to recast his shields. He'd been forced to temporarily transform into a thick-skinned seal. Even so, he looked as if he'd been flash-boiled to medium-rare, a faint, charred aroma wafting from him.
Before the Elves could even process the incredible outcome of the battle, another portal, "Festantantiles's Teleportation Portal," ripped open in mid-air.
Dewensen's dean tumbled out like a cannonball, sent flying by a hard smack from a Dragon's tail. He rolled several times across the already cracked courtyard before finally managing to regain his footing, his feet plowing two deep trenches into the stone. He adopted a Martial Monk's clenched-fist stance; through his torn robes, one could glimpse brawny muscles almost as formidable as a warrior's.
"Tamsen's Shape-Shifting Magic!" Attilicia, the discerning Dragon father, instantly recognized the rare transmutation spell that temporarily granted a spellcaster the abilities of a martial class.
But the dean, who had just been using that very spell to contend with the Dragon's might in the Elemental Plane of Water, now stared intently at the young Red Dragon who had also stepped out of the portal. The Dragon's scales were torn, his body covered in blood, yet he seemed utterly indifferent, a faintly crazed smile playing on his lips.
"A Red Dragon? David Uthos, that Silver Dragon, was actually a Red Dragon in disguise?" Some of the slower students were only now piecing it together.
As for the unfortunate soul David had sent flying at the very beginning, he simply rolled his eyes back and blissfully fainted.
"Brother..." Tania, perched on Attilicia's shoulder, finally managed a slight smile seeing David was 'alright'. However, looking at her older brother, covered in wounds sustained while defending her, her eyes couldn't hide her distress.
"Sigh." Nearby, Yolanda, the Dragonkin Succubus, let out a deep sigh.
It seemed her intervention would ultimately be unnecessary. This battle, which had its lines drawn by tacit agreement beforehand, had reached a point where David, the young Red Dragon, had already won. The facts had proven it: the Dewensen magic professors, operating under relatively restrained conditions, seemed to have no effective way to deal with him.
If the situation were to escalate further, Yolanda believed that an institution with the thousand-year legacy of the Magic Academy certainly had the means—and more than one—to quickly neutralize the threat posed by David, this Son of the Crimson Calamity.
But before that could happen, David was also perfectly capable of single-handedly demolishing Dewensen Magic Academy and dragging dozens, if not hundreds, of unfortunate souls down to hell with him.
For instance, there was the 'Godslayer Slash' David had once demonstrated before his father—though his father had judged that David would die if he ever truly unleashed that strike.
Then there was the terrifying Dragon Breath from earlier; David had only unleashed it after being transported to the Elemental Plane of Water.
But according to her information, given David's combat habits, Dragon Breath was usually his opening move...
