The Red Dragon Just Wants To Do As It Pleases
Chapter 390 - 243: Ecstasy (Part 2)
CHAPTER 390: CHAPTER 243: ECSTASY (PART 2)
He decided to ask his father about the situation.
However, he found the place empty—what looked like the ruins of an ancient desert civilization, a corner seemingly exposed by the wind.
Slacking off at a time like this! David instantly fumed.
Jealousy
Just as David was about to head back and, incidentally, send a Magical Messaging to denounce his Silver Dragon father, he heard a human voice, "Mr. David Uthos."
David, who was poised to take flight, twisted his head. He saw a bald man in a white robe emerging from a stone tunnel. The man said to him, "You’ve come at an inopportune time. Instructor Attilicia returns to the New Continent for several days each month. Today happens to be his ’day off’ this month."
This ’old dragon’ certainly knows how to enjoy life, David thought. So much for magical researchers ’not achieving anything without working 007 hours’!
Then he heard the Neisser apprentice continue, "He said if you came looking for him in a hurry, intending to take him to task, to please check your Magic Communication first."
"Ah, this..." David suddenly remembered. He found his father, Attilicia, too long-winded on a normal day, always wanting to prattle on about every little detail. To prevent information overload while he slept, he had deliberately blocked the old dragon’s Magical Messaging.
It was just like in his past life when he set his phone to automatically go into do-not-disturb mode at nine o’clock in the evening. Absolutely no one was allowed to interrupt his pre-bed leisure time or his sleep. All company matters were met the next morning with a, ’Haha, sorry, I fell asleep. Just saw this.’
After all, if something truly urgent happened, the company would find another way to reach out. If it wasn’t that urgent or necessary? Why the hell would someone call in the middle of the night? Are you in a rush to announce a death in the family?
And given his industry and professional experience back then, it was always the latter situation, without exception.
This allowed him to avoid eighty percent of the post-work annoyances from an already unpleasant job. Thinking back, he felt it was generous of him not to have set it to activate immediately after work; he was really giving his boss face.
But now, with his mind exceptionally clear and active, as David opened the Magic Communication log from his father, a cascading flood of messages instantly overwhelmed his thoughts.
When he saw one particular message, he couldn’t contain himself:
"Son, well done! You became a father even sooner than I did! When are you planning to come back?"
A father?! Me? When did this happen?
David’s mind quickly zeroed in on that absurd episode when he had returned from Barto Hell, right when he was in heat.
Instantly, a sense of unreality washed over him.
Did I really hit the jackpot on the first try? Is my ability that heaven-defying?
So, who is the child’s mother?
Nifadora?
Shadila?
Or Lizrite?
Lust
As David contemplated this, the corners of his mouth uncontrollably stretched towards his ear-bases.
This sudden, inexplicable joy surprised and astonished even himself.
But perhaps it made sense. If this had happened to him back when he was an NPC on Blue Star in his past life, it would likely have been a completely different experience.
He might still have felt happy and joyful, but being utterly unprepared, he would probably have been caught off guard, perhaps even anxious about the future due to a lack of confidence.
But now? Time to go see those Dragon Whelps!
He also finally understood why rich people liked having children—they simply didn’t have so many miscellaneous worries!
At this moment, he possessed ample confidence and strength to face all things, known and unknown. He could easily prepare sufficient resources and options for each of his children.
All that remained was to revel in the positive feedback from his biological instincts and the deep mental satisfaction it brought.
He had even thought of names for the children...
Wait a second, now that he was a dragon, did he even need to bother with names?
The next moment, David, laughing wildly, soared into the sky. He left six dazzling blue trails of light in his wake, vanishing over the horizon before the white-robed apprentice could even finish speaking.
Oberon, left standing there, opened his mouth:
He had just been about to say that Instructor Attilicia had constructed a new Teleportation Gate for easier travel between the two continents.
Though, even if David had known, he probably wouldn’t have cared much.
Thanks to Tiamat’s new divine boon, which had once again augmented David’s propulsion abilities, this transoceanic journey took him less than two days.
He jetted from one side of the sea to the other, flying directly to Port of Wallens in Luwalden. After locking onto a familiar Silver Dragon’s silhouette, he descended straight down.
「Upper City, Port of Wallens.」
Attilicia, who had just stepped out of the Teleportation Gate moments before, was distributing the varied monthly gifts he brought to the three differently colored Hatchlings before him.
Regardless of what the gifts were, valuable or not, there were always three identical sets.
Attilicia had initially stumbled over this. No matter the gift, the proud eldest would always pick first. Then, the second child would envy the eldest and want the same. The third would grow irritable for similar reasons, leading to the three half-sibling whelps fighting, much to Attilicia’s exasperated amusement.
In the distance, at the vastly changed Governor’s Harbor of Wallens, Nifadora, her figure restored to its former state, reviewed administrative documents, occasionally glancing towards Attilicia and the children.
It had to be said, even though the Dragon Whelps were already three years out of their shells, seeing the children—who were Chromatic Dragons—getting along harmoniously with their Silver Dragon grandfather, Attilicia, still felt surreal to Nifadora.
It was as if the Chromatic Dragon Queen, Tiamat, had played a colossal joke on her.
No, Chromatic Dragon Queen Tiamat *had* indeed played a colossal joke.
On the very day the three Hatchlings emerged from their shells, almost simultaneously, Tiamat herself had bestowed divine boons upon the Dragon Whelps. This astounded and deeply pleased Nifadora, who had never personally witnessed Tiamat’s avatar in her entire life.
Greatly moved, she had since become a secret devotee of Tiamat. After all, setting up a small clay shrine only cost a few copper coins.
But just then, a sound like a summer thunderclap boomed from the sky.
Then, the crying voice of Svetlana, the second child and a daughter, was heard: "Mama! Mama! Save me, save me, save me! I’m going to be eaten by the blue Evil Dragon! WAAH!"
The third child, Lizrite’s daughter Octavia, was the most protective. She unleashed a Fire Dragon Breath and, without a second thought, dived into the fray, biting fiercely.
Then came the childish yet proud voice of Satilaesa, Nifadora’s daughter, "Who are you? I advise you not to act rashly. Do you have any idea who my father is?"
Hearing this, Nifadora couldn’t help but tremble with suppressed laughter; she had already sensed who the newcomer was from the familiar aura.
Then she saw the Blue Dragon, David—who had forgotten to ’change his skin’—deftly snatch up the little Red Dragon whelp, which was relentlessly biting him, by the scruff of its neck with one claw. With the tip of his tail, he gently coiled around Satilaesa, who had shown no intention of fleeing, and lifted her before him, taunting mischievously, "Oh? And who might your father be, hmm? Do tell."
He then stared with curiosity and inquiry at the small dragon before him, who was surprisingly ’bright yellow’.
"And why are your scales yellow?"
Could it be that red plus green, mixed like on a color palette, resulted in this color?
"So, your mother is Nifadora?" David suddenly chuckled, delighted.
Hearing this barrage of questions, especially the last one, Satilaesa looked momentarily taken aback, but then she smiled with conviction. "So, you are my father? Lord David Uthos?" A hint of immense pride laced her tone.
Now it was David’s turn to be stunned.
"Father?" The green Hatchling, who had been crying earlier, suddenly stopped. She looked enviously at David’s blue scales, and then, like a chameleon, her own scales shifted to blue, turning her into a Blue Hatchling.
"?" David’s eyes widened slightly.
"Daddy?" The Red Hatchling, initially confused, now bit down even harder, like a little tiger cub. Her voice held a trace of grievance and petulance. "Then why did you scare us? I’ll bite you, bite you, bite you! Hmph, you made me so mad!"
Feeling that uniquely adorable fury, David, finally realizing what was happening, threw back his head and roared with laughter.
At this moment, he also finally understood why Tiamat had been so overjoyed.
If it were him, he’d be overjoyed too!
