CHAPTER 395: CHAPTER 245: BLUE DRAGON’S ELECTRIFYING JOY (PART 3)
If he had been the first to discover this, he probably would have exercised caution and studied it further before proceeding. After all, time was the one thing dragons had in abundance.
But since the boss has already explored it and still frequents it so eagerly, there must be a safe path and profit to be made!
Under Patricio’s tireless ’efforts,’ he finally found an ’entrance.’ The door, however, was firmly closed. By order of Dragon Dad Attilicia, it had been artfully aged to appear incredibly mottled. Engraved on the wall were patterns with flowing Mana Energy lines, sparking the dragon’s imagination.
Patricio didn’t dare approach. Instead, he followed the habit of almost all dragons: when in doubt, spit first!
A blast of Thunder Breath erupted, striking the gateway. However, contrary to his expectations, his usually all-powerful Dragon Breath not only failed to break open the door, but he himself was sent flying by a potent rebound of Mana Energy. Half his head went numb!
It wasn’t an electrical shock; it was the result of chaotic Mana Energy rampaging through his blood vessels.
Looking back at the door, there wasn’t even a single scorch mark?
Just as Patricio, humbled by this major setback, was preparing to cautiously retreat, the numbness in his head began to subside. His mouth, already healing thanks to a dragon’s vigorous restorative powers, actually felt... a little bit... pleasant?
Patricio savored this unique, novel sensation. He licked the horn on his snout and then unleashed another blast.
It was just as he’d thought!
Since he had nothing better to do anyway, he was like a young calf on a Blue Star ranch that, while scratching an itch on a fence post, accidentally brushed its sensitive underbelly against an electric wire. In doing so, it discovered a shocking and dangerously addictive new sensation.
After a long while, the young Blue Dragon, having completely exhausted his blue energy essence, lay collapsed outside the ancient city’s gate. But that exhilarating sensation, which made every scale seem to expand and tingle, was deeply etched into his mind.
Just as the still-unsatisfied Patricio was preparing to return to his lair for the time being, a stone dais suddenly rose from the desert in front of the stone door. Upon it sat a vial of deep-blue potion.
Patricio was stunned silent.
He carefully coiled the tip of his tail around it and uncorked the vial.
A potent aroma of Magic Power rushed straight to his head, as intense as if a native from Blue Star’s African regions had just opened a vial of the legendary ’essential balm’ from a certain ancient red nation.
"HISS! This stuff is incredible!" Patricio, nostrils flaring, felt he had struck gold.
After all, on the desolate Old Continent, especially in the resource-starved Kudaro Desert, such rare alchemical concoctions—likely dragon-made—were high-priced items. If I take this back, I could easily sell it for dozens of gold pieces, right?
At this thought, the dopamine reward system in his brain kicked into overdrive.
Moreover, he belatedly realized something. Expelling all his Dragon Breath in a short burst during such a high-energy impact, although it might shake or even slightly damage his internal blood vessels, would, upon recovery, actually increase the Mana Energy capacity within his veins. Wouldn’t it?
While such a subtle change was hard to detect, what if he came here to unleash his breath like this a few times every day? By the time he reached adulthood, wouldn’t he be incredibly powerful!?
This also made him involuntarily think of David’s almost absurdly powerful Thunder Breath, which in turn sparked a suspicion:
Could it be that David has already found this city? No, that can’t be right!
He distinctly remembered David was from the Anauroch Great Desert on Toriel!
Wait a second!
The Anauroch Great Desert on Toriel?
The Sky City of Neisser?
Aha! I think I’ve cracked the case! Patricio’s face suddenly lit up with an expression of profound realization.
He even faintly suspected that his ’brother’ David had traveled all the way from Toriel to Elariya...
Could it be, specifically for this?
Patricio narrowed his eyes slightly.
But now, hehe, he too had found the path to success!
This was a Blue Dragon’s version of discovering the electric fence—shockingly addictive!
He’d hit the absolute jackpot!
