CHAPTER 454: CHAPTER 269: RED ALERT 2

The three Hatchlings were still a bit puzzled. David, however, rushed over, his face full of astonishment as he anxiously looked at Nifadora and asked,

"Are you going to..."

Then he finally remembered something and blurted out,

"The Athas plane?"

If not for their many years together and his deep understanding of Nifadora’s temperament, he would almost feel like a parent whose child, after finally getting into university, had grown distant and was now seeking an ’amicable separation.’

Nifadora turned elegantly, smiling just as she had when they first met in front of the Dragon Nest, and said,

"That’s right. My sister Shadira and I have been stagnating at the crossroads for too long."

As she spoke, she used the tip of her tail to take out the Heart of Emerald—the one her mother’s Illusion had given to David, and which David, unable to figure out its purpose, had carelessly tossed to Nifadora:

"So, we plan to follow our mother’s wishes and head to Rich Green Wilderness, the verdant mirror plane of Athas—the world of the Cataclysmic Sun. There, we will meet our ancestor, the Emerald Dragon Mother, Arethalexandra, and receive enlightenment from the Emerald Dream.

"There, we will clarify all the legendary paths that our Green Dragon lineage has explored in the past and find the right path for ourselves.

"If the journey goes well, by the time we return, we might just be legendary Green Dragons.

"So, if you don’t want to end up like your father, unilaterally tormented by the great Pafila, you better work hard, my little Red Dragon brother. After all, among us Chromatic Dragons, tradition dictates that whoever is strongest leads everything."

"..." Attilicia, still busy preparing for the journey in the distance, felt his ear-flaps twitch. He sensed he’d been slighted but hadn’t heard the specifics clearly.

Faced with Nifadora’s ambiguous attitude—a mix of provocation and flirtation—David’s Arrogance immediately flared:

"Don’t worry. You’ll never get the chance to turn the tables and become a female Dragon Lord in your lifetime."

However, his anxious heart slightly relaxed. The Athas plane, though declined, was still a famous main material plane, too far-flung for the High Elves’ influence to extend. Yet he felt somewhat indebted. Originally, he should have been the one to accompany Shadira and Nifadora, even though he had long since ceased to need any enlightenment from the legendary paths of the Emerald Dream.

"Then I wish you good luck, my Lord David Uthos," Nifadora said, nodding to David along with her sister.

"Good luck to you too, Nifadora, Shadira."

The groups of dragons, each pursuing their own destiny, thus parted ways, spreading their wings and flying towards their respective destinations.

This journey alone took David and his dragon companions just over a month. The tedious travel inevitably led David to curse aloud in Wrath multiple times. But aside from keeping their heads down and hurrying along, there was no other option.

Dragon Island was geographically isolated, much like Iceland’s relation to Europa on the neighboring Blue Star.

These Metal Dragons, determined to avoid repeating the past mistakes of the High Elves, adamantly refused to establish any Teleportation Circles on Dragon Island. They also strictly prohibited any other dragons from doing so.

From this perspective alone, Attilicia was carrying a frozen Elf Chosen of God and was equipped to set up a small teleportation device. If the Metal Dragons caught him, charged him with ’threatening Dragon Island’s public safety,’ and sent him directly to trial, it would be no injustice at all.

He was a typical radical, left-leaning Silver Dragon—quite rebellious.

And so, they flew for nearly a month non-stop, munching on tough Dragon Food while battling the northwest wind. Finally, Dragon Island was in sight.

"Damn it! Now I see why Dragon Island decrees that only young adults can leave. Without storage equipment like a Portable Cave, hardly any Hatchling could make it out," David said, his face a mask of Taunt, his earlier Wrath so thoroughly quenched that fresh anger could not rise.

But Attilicia, a rebellious Silver Dragon native to Dragon Island, showed no inclination to defend its reputation:

"You’re telling me! They make it seem like the whole world covets this damned island. The ancestor who proposed the ’closed-door policy’ for the island must have been persecuted by the Chromatic Dragons."

However, as the dragons approached Dragon Island and finally caught a glimpse of its true appearance, David’s mouth fell slightly open, and he suddenly fell silent. It was simply that he felt Attilicia had somewhat misled him.

The island before him seemed... well, it indeed appeared worthy of being coveted by the outside world.

Gold Dragons and Silver Dragons both adore beautiful and spectacular natural environments.

Gold Dragons prefer to live in warm areas, like caves in the mountains or hidden spots on islands.

Silver Dragons, on the other hand, prefer colder climates and usually reside in high mountains or icy regions up north.

This magnificent island, featuring a dormant volcano and situated in a high-latitude, cold-temperate zone near the pole, remarkably possessed both warm mountainous areas and frigid high peaks. It even boasted a towering, year-round unfrozen waterfall that thundered as it crashed down.

From a distance, one could see young Gold and Silver Dragons frolicking in the water. Some Hatchlings, seeking thrills, even dived from the top of the waterfall, surfacing moments later with large carp in their jaws to show off to their companions.

Not only that, but during these long epochs, countless Gold and Silver Dragons had also built and remodeled some of the island’s natural structures to serve as their lairs.

Moreover, because Gold and Silver Dragons possess a strong sense of order and adhere to strict legal codes, they had no fear of their treasures being stolen. Thus, they brazenly embellished the entrances to their lairs with their hoards, showcasing their wealth and aesthetic sense to attract mates—much like bowerbirds decorating their nests. From afar, these lairs collectively resembled a ’field of blooming flowers,’ as magnificent as something from a fairytale.
