The Rejected Heiress's Possesive Tycoon Husband
Chapter 119 I Want a Divorce
CHAPTER 119: CHAPTER 119 I WANT A DIVORCE
An Yan knew Qin Song wasn’t lying. She effortlessly calculated what had already happened.
"You don’t need to go sell vegetables anymore. I heard from my big brother that you can identify the authenticity of jewelry, antiques, and paintings."
Qin Song nodded. "Yes."
"In that case, I..."
Before An Yan could finish, Li Tianyao suddenly grabbed her hand. "Lu Feng, go to Li Corporation’s auction house and arrange a job for him!"
"Yes."
This is the person Big Brother favors, An Yan thought, glancing at Li Tianyao. But I’ll let it go; it’s just a small matter. Besides, her relationship with Li Tianyao was always on the verge of collapse. It was better to avoid trouble whenever possible.
Right after dinner, An Zhongbo came to take An Yan home. Li Tianyao was unhappy but didn’t stop them.
An Yan pushed An Zhongbo’s wheelchair, slowly making her way towards the An Family home.
She didn’t believe what Bai Xiaoyun had said. But whether she believed it or not was one thing; the matter had come up, so it needed verification.
Just then, a gust of wind blew by. An Yan reached up to gently smooth An Zhongbo’s hair. At his age, few men avoided hair loss. As she did so, several strands, complete with follicles, landed in her palm.
Just as the two of them entered the main gate, An Yaoluo also returned.
Upon seeing An Yan, he hurriedly stopped his car and strode over to her. After looking her up and down for a moment, he smiled and said, "It’s good that you’re not hurt!"
An Zhongbo sighed. "She’s married."
An Yaoluo was shocked. "Who got married?"
An Zhongbo pointed next door. "That damn kid! He didn’t consult with us and tricked Yanyan into getting a marriage certificate!"
An Yaoluo’s face darkened immediately, but after a moment, he visibly suppressed his temper. "As long as Yanyan likes him, then so be it."
An Yan raised an eyebrow. She had never expected her big brother’s drastic change.
"But we can’t let Yanyan be wronged at the wedding," An Yaoluo said.
An Yan was speechless. He’s truly his father’s son; their reactions are exactly the same!
The two talked about this for a few more sentences, and then An Yaoluo asked, "Yanyan, your Second Brother followed you. Why hasn’t he come back?"
"Second Brother is a veteran," An Yan replied. "It seems he’s still cooperating with the police and is handling the follow-up matters."
"Do you know if he’ll be there for several more days?"
"Does Big Brother need Second Brother for something?"
"Yes, I got him a spot on a variety show. It’s supposed to boost his fame so he’ll have more acting opportunities later. Filming starts tomorrow, and I was hoping he could make it. If he really can’t, we’ll just have to apologize to the production team!"
An Yan suddenly had an idea. "What variety show did Big Brother get him on?"
"Escape from Desperate Island!"
An Yan was speechless. If I could earn Yezi, I could take Second Brother’s place, she thought. After all, a TV variety show definitely has a much larger audience than a livestream. Unexpectedly, it was an escape game! How do you earn Yezi in an escape game? You’d probably just be running from start to finish, and there would surely be all sorts of tasks to complete! Forget it, forget it.
Having dismissed the idea, An Yan returned to her room and stored her father’s hair in a sealed bag. She planned to take it to the lab for testing when she got back to school.
After that, An Yan started her livestream.
I wonder if I can get all fourteen Yezi at once today! she mused.
She had thought she would need to chat with the fans to warm up the stream, but to her surprise, just as she finished reading the advertisement script, a fan requested to connect.
"Teacher, my wife wants to divorce me!"
"I don’t gamble or solicit prostitutes. I hand over my salary on time every month, and I always come home from work on time. Just because I like to play video games, she wants to divorce me!"
"Teacher, could you please talk some sense into her?"
Then, the man pointed the camera at his wife.
She was a woman in her mid-twenties, her hair casually held up with a claw clip. She wore a white, pink-flowered housecoat. Her face was gentle, but her eyes were dull. She cradled a chubby baby in her arms.
An Yan stared at the woman for a while and said, "Ma’am, why do you want a divorce?"
The woman muttered, "I’m too tired!"
"Before marriage, I thought marriage was a sanctuary and a husband was someone to depend on. I thought that if I suffered grievances outside, someone at home would understand and comfort me, help me sort out my feelings, and enable me to face life’s hardships more bravely. But after marriage, I discovered that all the suffering in life came from the marriage itself."
The woman’s tears poured out frantically, and her voice grew shrill. "This man wants a wife who can fulfill filial duties to his parents on his behalf, a tool to bear and raise his children, and a housekeeper to serve him hot meals daily and clean up after him! The one thing he doesn’t want is a soulmate, a lover he can connect with deeply and grow with!"
"In this marriage, I get nothing that I want. So I think this marriage is meaningless to me. That’s why I don’t want it anymore!"
The man glared at her, sighed, and said, "Listen to this streamer, this ’Teacher’! Is she even making sense?"
"What woman doesn’t need to be filial to her in-laws after marriage? What woman doesn’t need to bear and raise children? What woman doesn’t need to cook and clean?"
"I work outside to earn money, putting on endless fake smiles and groveling all day."
"She’s at home, doesn’t have to deal with clients or bosses, just does some housework and takes care of the child. How is that so unfair to her?"
Many viewers in the live comments expressed their opinions:
[Women these days, honestly! Born into privilege and they don’t even appreciate it!]
[They’ve all been poisoned by that self-help nonsense. Every one of them wants to be a pampered young lady, but how many domineering CEOs are there in this world? What’s wrong with marrying an ordinary guy and living an ordinary life?]
[While I sympathize with the wife, I also don’t think the husband is some irredeemable villain. He doesn’t gamble or solicit prostitutes, and he hands over his salary on time. That’s pretty decent.]
[...]
An Yan observed their facial expressions, quickly made some calculations, and then said, "Sir, since you chose to seek my advice, I assume you don’t want a divorce, correct?"
"Of course not! She’s my wife, and she even bore me a son. Of course, I don’t want a divorce! She’s the one insisting on making a scene!"
The live comments again chimed in with persuasion:
[This woman is being a bit unreasonable.]
[What’s there to make a fuss about? He’s a man; as long as he comes home on time, doesn’t gamble, and doesn’t solicit prostitutes, you shouldn’t ask for too much.]
[...]
An Yan nodded. "I have a suggestion."
"Since this lady feels you’re not good enough, then I suggest you stop handing over your salary every month."
The man was taken aback. A smug smile spread across his face, and he glanced sideways at his wife, looking as if he couldn’t even be bothered to look at people properly.
The woman clearly hadn’t expected An Yan to say that. Her eyes filled with shock, and her lips trembled uncontrollably.
She strongly suspected this relationship coach had been bribed by her husband in advance.
