The Rejected Heiress's Possesive Tycoon Husband
Chapter 219: How Could They Bear to Do It?
CHAPTER 219: CHAPTER 219: HOW COULD THEY BEAR TO DO IT?
Liang Chen nodded. "Yes. I remember now; the shadowy area at that location has always stayed more or less the same size, but its shape keeps changing."
An Yan nodded. "Analyze it, please. I think there’s something wrong with that shadow."
"Alright."
Liang Chen took out his computer and began comparing it with the old man’s medical records.
While several people were discussing, An Yan’s phone rang. It was Mo Shiyan. "Miss An Yan, have you discovered something? Whatever you have found, I hope you can be frank with me. Please."
An Yan had calculated Mo Shiyan’s fortune while she was on a variety show. She knew this person would bring danger to her, though she couldn’t figure out what kind of danger it would be. Now, after recalculating, he would still pose a danger to her, but within that danger lay a tremendous opportunity. This made An Yan change her original plan and decide to have a talk with him. "Wang Yong, is there a non-surveillance section nearby, somewhere with a more open view?"
"Yes, Miss, there is one a thousand meters ahead."
An Yan sent Mo Shiyan the location information and went there first to wait.
A dozen or so minutes later, Mo Shiyan arrived.
Wang Yong got out of the car with several bodyguards and stood guard at a distance.
"Miss An Yan, regarding my grandfather’s condition, if you have any findings, you can tell me directly."
An Yan nodded. "You previously judged that there were bullet fragments and a hematoma in the old man’s brain, but that’s not quite correct. In addition to the bullet fragments and hematoma, there’s something else wrong with his brain!"
"What’s the problem?"
An Yan took the computer Liang Chen handed her. "Look at this shadow here. After analysis by the computer, we can basically confirm that this isn’t a hematoma, but a worm!"
"What?" Mo Shiyan exclaimed in shock.
Liang Chen quickly turned his head to look at the image on the computer. He had only determined that there was something wrong with the image and hadn’t thought it could be a worm. Now, the more he looked, the more it really did seem like one!
An Yan continued, "And this worm is still alive!!"
Mo Shiyan opened his mouth in amazement. "Are you, are you sure?"
"Certain!" She had seen it with her own eyes. How could it be false? "In such a situation, if surgery is undertaken, the worm will start moving erratically. That’s the brain we’re talking about. If it burrows into just any place, the person is gone."
"How could this happen?"
Mo Shiyan clenched his fist in anger, slamming it into a nearby tree. "I had considered countless possibilities. I thought they might bribe the hospital or doctors, given my grandfather’s serious illness. But I never imagined they would stoop to such despicable tactics! Despite taking all imaginable precautions, I never anticipated this, and they even succeeded! How could they be so cruel to someone of my grandfather’s age?"
With fury rising in his heart, Mo Shiyan threw several more punches until his hands bled profusely. "Miss An Yan, do you have a way to remove the worm?"
An Yan nodded. "It can be removed, but doing so will likely cost the old man his life. After all, the brain is so fragile."
"Then what should we do?"
Mo Shiyan’s shoulders sagged, and he looked like a child who was completely at a loss. Suddenly he realized that An Yan in front of him was just a girl in her early twenties, and he immediately felt embarrassed, silently lowering his eyes. His long eyelashes cast a dark shadow beneath his eyes.
Anyone else witnessing his state might feel pity and would want to use all their capabilities to help him.
Unfortunately, An Yan was not just anyone.
Mo Shiyan was good-looking, but compared to Li Tianyao, he still fell a bit short.
Without the expected consolation, Mo Shiyan had no choice but to regroup and pull himself together. "Miss An Yan, if the worm isn’t removed, what will happen to my grandfather? Will he just keep sleeping, or..."
An Yan said, "It’s hard to say. It depends on the mood of the worm! If it doesn’t move around, he might just keep on sleeping."
But who can guarantee that the worm won’t move about? The worm is a living organism, after all. It needs to eat.
Mo Shiyan’s face turned pale once again. "So, the worm must be removed, right? But if even you can’t do it, then who else could... Miss An Yan, please, could you think of a way?"
"My advice is to find the person responsible. Since they were able to put the worm in, they should also have a way to take it out. After all, no one would raise a creature they couldn’t control!" Yuncheng was very close to the Miao District. An Yan concluded this was likely one of their techniques and thus earnestly offered her advice.
"I understand!" Mo Shiyan tried to control his emotions and turned his gaze back to An Yan. "Miss An Yan, rest assured, I won’t involve you in what follows. But I would like to ask you to stay in Yuncheng for a couple more days. Within those two days, I will do everything possible to find that person. Then, I will need you, Miss An Yan, to perform the surgery on my grandfather."
"What if you can’t find them?" An Yan asked.
"If I can’t find them, you will receive the full payment, and I will personally make sure you return safely to Luocheng."
An Yan nodded. "Alright. Then I’ll stay a few more days in Yuncheng!"
Aside from operating on Mr. Mo, there was also the matter of the Golden Thread Worm. Initially, she had planned to perform the surgery on Mr. Mo first and then look for the Golden Thread Worm. Now, it seemed she could start searching for the worm right away.
Not long after parting with Mo Shiyan, Wang Yong noticed they had picked up a tail following their car. "Miss, should we shake them off?"
An Yan shook her head. "No need. Let them follow." They were likely following Mo Shiyan, so there was a high chance they were from the second branch of the Mo Family. Shaking them off would only make them think she was allied with Mo Shiyan. Better not to; she would just let them follow.

The villa Li Tianyao bought in Yuncheng was situated halfway up a hill. The villa’s grounds extended all the way from the foot of the mountain upwards. Built to take advantage of the terrain, it was lush with plants and boasted a babbling brook that ran through it, creating a serene atmosphere.
The main building had two floors: a living room on the first and living quarters on the second.
To the left of the main building was a row of bungalows for daily guest reception.
To the right, in the middle, was a tea room.
A giant root-carved tea table was surrounded by several wooden stools.
Wang Yong stepped forward and pushed open the left door. "Miss An Yan, this is a laboratory specially prepared for you according to Old Nine’s instructions. If something is missing or insufficient, just say the word. I’ll go and buy it immediately."
An Yan stepped inside.
The laboratory was logically divided into zones: a changing area, a sterilization area, and then the experimental area. It was smaller than the one beneath the Luocheng Villa, but still fully equipped with all necessary tools, instruments, and reagents for experiments.
Liang Chen and Mu Enyu simultaneously gasped in awe, looking utterly impressed!
Mu Enyu, holding An Yan’s hand, said with her face flushed with excitement, "Brother-in-law is really so thoughtful towards you, Sister Yan!"
Warmth spread through An Yan’s heart. She guessed Li Tianyao must have known she wouldn’t give up her experiments while in Yuncheng. That guy, aside from being somewhat unreasonable in matters of emotion, was truly faultless in other respects. An unconscious smile touched her eyes as she turned to Wang Yong and said, "Can you contact the people who came looking for the Golden Thread Worm?"
