The Rejected Heiress's Possesive Tycoon Husband
Chapter 84 I Don’t Like to Hit People
CHAPTER 84: CHAPTER 84 I DON’T LIKE TO HIT PEOPLE
An Yan sighed. "It’s not that I wanted to come back, but Grandpa asked me to. He said my mom’s dying wish was for me to attend Luocheng University and that I should have what other young people have, like going to college and dating!"
"Who would have thought that the moment I entered the city, I got ditched by a jerk—talk about infuriating!"
Li Tianyao glanced at her. "Didn’t you immediately find someone better?"
An Yan stiffly glanced back at him, forcing a smile. "That’s true. If the Lin Family hadn’t broken off the engagement, I wouldn’t have found you! When you think about it, he’s kind of our matchmaker! Suddenly, I kind of want to thank him," she said through gritted teeth.
Li Tianyao’s mouth twitched as he heard this. "Little girl, are you still not over that Lin Shang?"
"Not at all. For me, the broken engagement, the public humiliation, and then meeting you—it was all a series of events. And since the final outcome was happy, I should recall it often. Focusing on pleasant things makes a person happier."
"Li Tianyao, don’t you think meeting me was a very pleasant event?"
The man curled his lips into a smile and reached out to tousle her hair. "I do!"
"Then can you replace all the unpleasant memories in your mind with memories of being with me?"
"I’ll try."
"It can’t just be an attempt. You have to embed me into your brain, thinking of me all the time."
"Then, are you always thinking of me too?"
"Of course!"
"How can you prove it?"
An Yan: "???"
How did she become the one under interrogation?
An Yan’s current persona was that of an unreasonable, dramatic little minx. Did Li Tianyao really think he could stump her like this?
"What do you mean? How dare you not believe me?"
Li Tianyao reached out and tousled her hair again. "I believe you."
"Then tell me, if your mom and I fell into the water, who would you save first?"
"I don’t have a mom."
An Yan: "..."
As she was being unreasonable, Lu Feng approached from the opposite direction and respectfully reported, "Master, Lei Na arrived at the courtyard we booked earlier ten minutes ago. She’s currently kneeling at the door, begging for your forgiveness! She also said she won’t get up unless you agree!"
"What did you do to her?" An Yan asked, curious.
Li Tianyao looked toward Lu Feng, who said, "We haven’t done anything. She probably recognized Ninth Master."
An Yan was shocked. Images of Lei Na proudly showing off her father earlier in the day flashed through her mind. Someone so full of herself was scared into kneeling at the doorstep begging for forgiveness just by recognizing Li Tianyao? What kind of image must Li Tianyao have in her eyes!
"Master, should we drive her away?" Lu Feng asked.
Li Tianyao turned his gaze to An Yan. "Do you still want to hit her?"
An Yan: "???"
"You seemed quite happy doing it earlier today!"
"That’s because she deserved it! But actually, I don’t like hitting people!" I only hit those who deserve it!
"Is that so? You just like to watch others do the hitting, don’t you? Lu Feng, follow Miss An Yan’s standards from earlier today, slap her ten times, and then tell her to get lost!"
Lu Feng acknowledged and turned to leave.
An Yan quickly spoke up, "Wait! I don’t love watching people get hit! What are you thinking? I had my second brother hit her earlier today because she was bullying him! Actually, I’m very gentle, you know!"
Li Tianyao looked at the little girl gripping his sleeve. "Then let’s just ignore her?"
"Yeah, don’t bother!" She was useless now anyway; An Yan couldn’t be bothered to waste any more time on Lei Na.
"Let’s find another place to stay."
"Okay."
The new place they found was beside a small river. Standing by the window on the second floor, one could perfectly see the entrance of their previous courtyard.
The owners of the house knew someone was outside, so they left the front door light on.
Wearing a maid’s outfit, Lei Na knelt there, straight as a rod. Her arms were covered in goosebumps from the cold, yet she still maintained a perfectly composed posture!
"She probably thinks you’re watching her from somewhere. She’s dressed so scantily!" An Yan said as she heard Li Tianyao come out of the bathroom.
Having just finished showering and still giving off a hint of steam, Li Tianyao reached out and shut the window. "There’s no need to pay attention to irrelevant people!"
"It’s just that I don’t quite understand her thought process," An Yan said, taking the towel he handed her and starting to dry his hair.
"Logically, she’s kneeling there asking for forgiveness because she knows she did something to upset you earlier today."
"But how is she so sure that by wearing less, she could impress you?"
"Could it be that you actually have a history of this sort?"
Li Tianyao gave her a sideways glance, his voice firm, "No!"
"But if you really don’t, then what is she basing her judgment on?"
Li Tianyao reached out and hooked her chin, turning her face towards his. "Little girl, don’t play mind games with me. Just say what you want to say!"
An Yan pouted theatrically. "I’m not playing mind games. It’s just that you’re too charming. All those women are eyeing you, and I’m not comfortable with it!"
The man looked at her silently for a few minutes. "What do you want me to do?"
An Yan was secretly delighted, but her face appeared troubled. "I want to be the only one in your eyes, in your heart. There can only be me!"
"Alright!" The man good-naturedly pinched her ear.
"I don’t believe it. How will you prove that I’m the only one in your eyes and your heart?"
The man watched her silently with an impassive face. "You tell me."
"You’re actually asking me? How would I know how to prove it? Li Tianyao, you don’t really love me!"
The man smiled good-naturedly, his amber eyes fixed on her face. "So what do you want to do? Leave me?"
An Yan: "..." Would he agree if she said she wanted to leave? Obviously not!
"How could I bear to leave you? Even if you don’t love me, I still... I just... I love you too much, what am I supposed to do? I can’t eat or sleep without you!"
"Li Tianyao, I don’t care, you must feel the same as I do! Only then will our love be equal!" An Yan recited the dramatic lines she had painstakingly come up with.
In the corner of her eye, the man’s lips twitched again and again. "Alright, I promise you!"
An Yan really couldn’t keep up the act any longer. Her eyes shifted, and her gaze settled on his bandaged hand.
There was something wrong with Li Tianyao’s blood. If her guess was right, his hand should have healed by now, shouldn’t it?
Taking advantage of her current dramatic persona, An Yan stared fixedly at his hand. "It’s time to change the dressing."
As she spoke, she reached out to unwrap the bandage on Li Tianyao’s hand.
Li Tianyao drew back his hand. "It’s already been changed."
"When did you change it?"
"During dinner. Lu Feng helped me with it."
An Yan paused, then said, "Let me take a look at how well the wound is healing!"
"If it’s healed well, then you won’t have to dry my hair anymore, right?" Li Tianyao’s tone clearly held a note of displeasure.
An Yan felt she could act up again. "I want to see your wound because I’m worried about you! Why won’t you let me see it? Tell me, are you hiding something from me?"
