CHAPTER 910: CHAPTER 910 HERA’S COUNTER ATTACK

The moment the assassins left, Hera felt her strength drain from her body, nearly collapsing into her wheelchair. She’d be lying if she said she wasn’t shaken. Everything she’d done earlier had been a response to the moment, improvising under pressure, making split-second decisions that fit the situation.

She had simply followed her instincts, even if the plan seemed reckless and difficult to execute. But really, what choice did she have? If she hadn’t acted, she’d be dead by now, and worse, she might’ve dragged Xavier and Alexandre down with her.

"Are you alright?" Xavier rushed to Hera’s side, his voice laced with concern. She looked so pale that it made his heart clench with worry.

Hera nodded and gave him a faint smile, but then suddenly burst into laughter, soft and disbelieving. She couldn’t believe she’d actually pulled it off. Just moments ago, she thought she was done for, certain she wouldn’t survive. The overwhelming relief hit her all at once, and before she knew it, she was both laughing and crying.

Xavier gently pulled her into his arms, holding her close until her trembling eased. Once she’d calmed down, he wiped her tears and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead.

"You’re safe now," he said quietly, his voice warm with pride. "You were incredible, so brave. I’m proud of you."

His sincerity shone in his eyes, and Hera, still sniffling, broke into a sweet, grateful smile.

Just then, Hera’s bodyguards arrived. A few of them had bruises on their faces or split lips, their disheveled appearance revealing the intensity of the fight they had gone through. Thankfully, none of them were seriously injured.

Relieved, Hera instructed them to get their wounds treated. Since she, Xavier, and Alexandre were unharmed, there was no need for immediate concern. Still, the guards escorted her back to her room first to ensure her safety. A few of the less-injured ones remained stationed outside her door, while the others went to the nurses to get treated. Once they were treated, they rotated shifts so everyone could receive medical care.

While they tended to their wounds, Hera didn’t sit idle. She checked her phone to see if Sasha was awake, and sure enough, despite that it was still dawn in their country, he was still up.

She called him. The phone barely rang once before he picked up.

"Hello? Sis, what’s up?"

"Sasha," Hera said, her tone a little cryptic, "are you up for a task?"

"As always," he replied without hesitation. "Just shoot."

"Hm, I need you to track some people for me," Hera said, her voice steady and serious. "I want their transaction history, the assassination contract they accepted on me, and, most importantly, who issued the hit and everything connected to it. The deeper the information, the better."

Xavier and Alexandre, who had been quietly listening beside her, exchanged surprised glances. From the way Hera spoke, it was clear she was no longer just defending herself. She was preparing to hunt down whoever was targeting her.

"You what?!" Sasha exploded. "Someone tried to kill you?! Fuck! That bastard’s dead meat, just wait, I’ll find whoever it is and send them gift-wrapped to you!"

He didn’t even let Hera finish whatever she was about to say next, and he immediately got to work.

Knowing Hera as well as he did, Sasha was sure she wouldn’t ask him to track something unless she had already set a trap. That meant she must have made a move, likely a transaction. Sure enough, once he accessed her recent records, he found a large sum transferred to a Swiss bank account.

Sasha’s lips curled in a grin.

He’d already cracked into a Swiss bank once; this time, he was more familiar with their loopholes and firewalls. His fingers flew across the keyboard, working faster than before, his assistant AI helping monitor Hera’s surroundings using nearby CCTV feeds and satellite imaging.

He frowned as he caught footage of the attack, which happened right outside the hospital, in the garden area. Hera, Xavier, and Alexandre had cleverly led the assassins straight into one of the blind spots where the cameras had a clear and unobstructed view. It was smart. Sasha guessed they had already noticed which areas had good angles.

The footage captured the attackers’ faces in high resolution. He did a quick cleanup, enhanced the video quality, and began running facial recognition identification while continuing to breach the Swiss account.

Whoever had come after Hera had seriously underestimated them, and now, Sasha was going to make them regret it.

His AI assistant was proving to be an invaluable help, efficiently handling the smaller tasks while he focused on the more complex ones. All he needed to do was give a voice command, and the AI would take over, displaying the results on a secondary screen. Things were running much smoother now, especially since Hera had already laid the groundwork on her end, which made Sasha’s job that much easier.

Of course, Hera didn’t negotiate with the assassins just to save her life; she had a bigger plan in motion. By transferring money to their account, she gave Sasha a clear trail to follow. Her goal was to trace the transaction, uncover the real account where the funds were being sent, identify any recent high-profile clients, and ultimately expose the mastermind behind the hit.

It was a complex and risky strategy, but Hera acted swiftly, giving Sasha the upper hand. The assassins, distracted by the sudden turn of events and the visible security cameras around, didn’t have time to wipe or tamper with the footage.

Before they could even attempt to delete the recordings, Sasha had already backed up the data and embedded digital "land mines" into the CCTV system. If anyone tried to hack into it, their IP and physical location would be immediately pinged and tracked.

Even if the assassins managed to escape satellite surveillance by using tunnels or underground routes, Sasha had anticipated that too. As long as they attempted to breach the CCTV system, his planted virus would infect their devices, spreading through Bluetooth or any network connections, and allow him to trace them further.

Once inside, he could dig into their activity on the dark web, retrieve a copy of the original assassination notice, and extract the user ID of the person who ordered the hit.

"You think you’re clever, huh?" Sasha smirked as his fingers flew across the keyboard. The assassins thought they were fast enough to cover their tracks, but they had no idea he was already silently tailing them.

"Boom! Got you, bitches!" he snorted when their hacker connected to the public security system in a desperate attempt to erase the footage. Not only did they fail to delete the incriminating evidence, but their computer was also instantly hacked, just enough to spook them.

They thought the damage was limited to that single device. What they didn’t know was that the real virus had already spread, quietly infecting their phones and other connected devices. Hacking the computer was just a distraction, a scare tactic to make them bolt.

And bolt they did.

Now, completely unaware that they were being tracked, they were practically guiding Sasha straight to their hideout as they made their hasty escape.
