CHAPTER 931: CHAPTER 931 HERA’S CONCLUSION ABOUT LEO

Hera fell into deep thought. If Leo was truly her fiancé, then... did that mean he was originally meant to be the greatest villain of the novel? The one destined to go head-to-head with the male leads, Luke, Rafael, Xavier, Zhane, and Dave? But now, all those supposed rivals were her lovers. And even the main villain had somehow ended up by her side. The realization made her head spin.

This was the first time she had ever heard of having a fiancé, but now that she was beginning to piece everything together, the puzzle was finally starting to make sense. It explained why the so-called villain had supported Old Master Avery, targeted the male leads, and even tried to kill Minerva and Alice. It wasn’t because he wanted a share of the Avery estate after its downfall, nor because the Averys were long-time allies of the Hendrix family. It wasn’t even about his grandfather’s deep-rooted ties to the Avery lineage.

None of that truly mattered.

All this time, she had been trying to understand why the villain of the novel would side so fiercely with the Averys. But now it was clear, it was because of their engagement. And if that was the case... then had Leo liked her all along? Had he seen her as his future wife from the very beginning?

Thinking about all this, Hera’s face flushed an even deeper shade of red. Was that why, when they first met, Leo had shown her his vulnerable side, despite being introduced as the cold and ruthless villain? It was supposed to be completely out of character, yet now it all started to make sense.

The pieces were finally coming together in her mind.

But still... if both the male leads and the villain had all ended up with her, how had the story even progressed this far? Or maybe that was exactly the point. Perhaps there had never truly been a villain from the beginning, at least, not in this version of the story. By changing her own path, Hera might’ve triggered the butterfly effect.

And that change, her choice, had caused the entire narrative to shift. Maybe that’s why Alice, the original female lead, began to unravel. Why her female lead halo weakened enough for Hera to eventually take her place.

And it was all thanks to Leo.

Without him by her side, Hera might never have achieved this outcome. Then again, she couldn’t ignore Athena’s role either. If not for Athena, Hera wouldn’t have escaped her own death at Alexi’s and Minerva’s hands. Leo had only become the villain because of her death in the original story, which led to her grandfather’s rampage and the eventual destruction of the Avery conglomerate.

Hera turned to look at Leo, her eyes crinkling with understanding.

Leo nearly flinched under her gaze, feeling as though she was seeing straight into his soul. For a moment, he felt completely exposed in front of her. But now that he knew Hera was his real fiancée, and that he didn’t mind the idea, he found himself feeling oddly at peace.

Then, another piece of information hits Hera’s mind, If Leo was her fiance and that he was from teh Hendrix, according to the novel, the villain was supposed to be a powerful heir of some family, and earlier Leo didn’t specifically said his title, then, was he deliberately hiding his real identity too all this time and instead of being from a branch family, he is actually the sole heir of the Hendrix family? After all such background was what befitted the villain, they shoudl eb stronger than the male leads, after all, how could the story be more exciting if the male elads are stronger than teh villain from teh get go?

"So, you are Leo Hendrix, the Hendrix’s heir who was behind the contious rise of the Hendrix these past few years in the international market?!" HEra gasped after the idea settled into her mind, and even Luke, Rafael, DAve, Zhane and Xavier all turned to looked at Leo with eyes wide with disbelief, they have always believed that he was just from the branch family of the Hendrix, after all, how could such a big heir of such conglomerate family lower himself and share his woman with them if he could dominate all of them and just take her away from them, show them their place? It doesn’t make sense, but well, love doens’t make sense, people could make dumb decisions or even lower themselves for love and humbling oneself for love was only one thing, some could even die for love.

"Have I never mentioned that before?" The amnesiac Leo tilted his head to the side and looked at everyone with innocent eyes and everyone felt like cursing but they can’t take it on a patient who clearly dont’ remember anything, but indeed, they are fooled by this guy,.

"I think you’re wasting your talent being a CEO. Why don’t you become an actor instead? Not only are you good at acting coquettish, but you’re also a master at pretending," Dave snorted, arms crossed. The others subtly nodded in agreement, after all, they had all been fooled.

But now, with hindsight, the signs were starting to add up.

Like when Leo rushed to Maple Village the moment Hera joined the variety show ’The Quest,’ and suddenly, the previously inaccessible road connecting the village to the outside world was rebuilt overnight. That would’ve taken significant manpower, especially considering the rough, muddy terrain and its distance from the main roads. Yet for the Hendrix family, it was no problem.

Then there was the Horse Race, where Leo presented the trophy under the Hendrix name. Only the true heir of the Hendrix family could authorize that, let alone sponsor such a high-profile event so effortlessly.

And let’s not forget the private airport lounge owned by the Hendrix family, the respectful treatment from staff, and Leo’s use of a private jet. No ordinary manager, especially one from a so-called branch family, could pull off any of that.

It became clear: just like Hera, Leo had been leaving clues all along. Subtle breadcrumbs, preparing everyone for the day the truth would finally come to light.

The truth was, everyone had been so focused on Hera that they hadn’t paid much attention to Leo’s odd behavior. Now that they finally connected the dots, they couldn’t help but feel a little foolish, after all, the heir to the Hendrix family had been right under their noses this whole time. He must’ve been silently laughing at their cluelessness.

To be fair, they had suspected something from time to time, but never seriously. Especially since each of them carried secrets of their own, Luke, for instance, was secretly a mafia lord, and Xavier was the heir to the Montague family. But those secrets were things Hera already knew, thanks to the novel Athena had read.

Alice, however, had never learned about any of these truths.

In the original novel, Luke went to great lengths to shield Alice from his brutal world, hiding his darker side and only ever showing her his gentler one, aside from his wild side in bed, perhaps. He dealt with enemies from the shadows, making sure she never saw the blood behind the power.

Xavier, meanwhile, never returned to the Montague family in the novel. His influence in the entertainment industry alone was enough to support Alice’s rise to stardom. Rafael handled the business ventures and capital injections, while Dave took care of the political angle.

With everything covered, none of the male leads had to step out of their comfort zones. They never showed their full selves to Alice, leaving her in the dark about who they truly were.

But with Hera, it was different, they never felt the need to hide who they truly were. If they truly wanted to protect her, they had to give their all. That’s why even Xavier once openly spoke about his origins and didn’t hesitate to use his family’s influence to arrange a private seat for Hera on their airline. It was his way of saying he was willing to use everything at his disposal, including the power of the Montague family, for her sake.

Likewise, Luke wasn’t shy about tapping into his underworld connections, and the others followed suit. They were all open with one another. If something was needed, they’d use every card they had, because, in their hearts, Hera was worth it.

With the chaos constantly swirling around her, holding back wasn’t an option. Half-measures couldn’t shield her from the dangers she faced. In fact, it was often Hera who ended up saving them. And that’s when they realized: if she was willing to risk her life for them, then they needed to give their everything for her too.

Maybe that was the difference between Alice and Hera.

Alice expected to be protected. She wanted the male leads to do everything for her, and aside from offering her body, everything else felt one-sided. So in the end, they never truly gave her their all in the novel.
