CHAPTER 801: CHAPTER 801: KNOWS HER MOTHER

"Then, can you come here every day?" Xiao Junjie asked.

"Every day? That is a bit too much." Bai Xifeng stated.

"Too much? Why?" Xiao Junjie was slightly hurt by Bai Xifeng’s rejection.

"I just arrived here. So, I want to explore the city." Bai Xifeng stated.

"That..." Xiao Junjie wanted to say something but Wei Shan cut him off.

"Junjie, you can not force people to do what they don’t want to do." Wei Shan said.

"I am sorry." Xiao Junjie said.

"If I have time, I will come and visit." Bai Xifeng said.

"By the way, Xifeng, can we speak in private?" Wei Shan asked.

"Master, what are you going to talk to Xifeng about?" Xiao Junjie jumped in.

"It is not about the alchemy." Wei Shan stated.

"Really?" Xiao Junjie raised his eyebrow, sceptical of his master.

"Of course. When did I lie to you?" Wei Shan spoke.

"Well, a lot." Xiao Junjie said.

"You brat! Get lost." Wei Shan tried to hit Xiao Junjie’s head.

Xiao Junjie swiftly avoided the hit. "I will go to my room. I need to write the method."

"What do you want to talk about?" Bai Xifeng asked.

"Well, let’s sit down here." Wei Shan led Bai Xifeng to a table.

Wei Shan asked Bai Xifeng to sit down first before he went to prepare some tea. He came back with the tea and some refreshment. He sat down facing Bai Xifeng.

"Xifeng, are you the daughter of Bai Xiang and Ji Suyin?" Wei Shan asked

"Yes. It seems you know my parent." Bai Xifeng looked at Wei Shan while holding the teacup.

"Well, to be precise, I am your mother’s acquaintance." Wei Shan said.

"No wonder you seemed to be shocked to see me earlier." Bai Xifeng stated.

"You noticed that?" Wei Shan was surprised. He thought he masked his expression perfectly.

"Yes." Bai Xifeng nodded. She placed the teacup on the table. "So, what actually do you want to talk about?"

Bai Xifeng leaned over to the chair and crossed her legs while not breaking eye contact with Wei Shan. Wei Shan was stunned for a moment. He felt like he was facing Ji Suyin herself. Ji Suyin’s daughter was really similar to her mother.

"Can I meet your mother?" Wei Shan asked.

Bai Xifeng raised her eyebrows. To the outsiders, Bai Xiang’s wife was known to have been gone for a long time. Only her family and the people who took her mother away knew that her mother was still alive.

She looked straight at Wei Shan and tried to read his expression. He seemed generally serious about asking to meet her mother. However, she felt it was better not to talk about her mother being alive.

"My mother has been gone for a long time, in case you don’t know about that." Bai Xifeng stated.

Well, she did not dare to say her mother was dead. So, she used the word ’gone’.

"What?" Wei Shan was shocked to hear that. "Are you telling the truth? Is she really gone?"

"It happened a long time ago." Bai Xifeng nodded. "Why don’t you hear anything back then?"

Wei Shan did not know how to answer that question. He actually refused to hear anything about Ji Suyin after he found out that she had married a general. However, some information was leaked to him stating that she had a son and a daughter. After that, he totally blocked the news about her. That was why he never heard about her death until today.

"I was immersed in my research and did not hear about you." Wei Shan made up an excuse.

"Oh... I see." Bai Xifeng said.

"Well, can I visit her grave?" Wei Shan asked.

Bai Xifeng was dumbfounded. Where should she say her mother’s grave was? They did not have one. There was no grave because her father knew that her mother was still alive. ’Let me make up some excuses.’

"My father did not allow a stranger to visit my mother’s grave." Bai Xifeng stated.

"Why?" Wei Shan asked.

"A few days ago, there was a group of people who came to the grave and tried to snatch the body. So, Father moved the grave away and did not tell anybody except the family members." Bai Xifeng really went with the flow.

Wei Shan was silent for a moment. Then, he nodded. "I understand." He did not have the power to force Bai Xifeng to tell him the location of the grave.

"I am sorry." Bai Xifeng stated. She did not know why, but she felt it was the correct word to say at the moment.

"No need to say sorry. I understand." Wei Shan nodded. He then changed the topic. "By the way, are you coming to this city because of the Tianlong School’s entrance test?"

"Yeah." Bai Xifeng nodded.

"I see. If you want, you don’t need to take the entrance test. I can recommend you to the school." Wei Shan offered to help.

"How nice but no thanks. I will try to take the entrance test. I want to see if I can pass using my own ability." Bai Xifeng refused Wei Shan’s offer.

Wei Shan laughed.

"What is so funny about this?" Bai Xifeng was surprised when Wei Shan started to laugh.

"I know that you will refuse my help. You are really similar to your mother." Wei Shan nodded several times.
