CHAPTER 809: CHAPTER 809: BEING TRAPPED IN THE LIBRARY BEFORE
Bai Xifeng walked along the bookshelf, looking at the titles of the books. She did not have any specific book to read. She would grab and read whatever book caught her attention.
Finally, she found a book that was written about the advanced Inscriber’s technique. She picked up the book and read it right away. As she was engrossed in reading the book, she did not realise that she had already sat down at the spot. She had always been like that, even in the past. She sat down on the library chair next to the bookshelf. During her high school and university years, librarians often found her in that state.
They would come to Bai Xifeng and remind her that the library would be closing soon and she needed to leave. Bai Xifeng stood up and thanked the librarians. It had become their routine. One day, the person who was in charge of the night duty forgot to remind Bai Xifeng about the closing time. As a result, the light turned off.
Only then did Bai Xifeng realise the library had been closed. Bai Xifeng rushed to the door. At that time, she was on the second floor. She was rushing downstairs using the stairs. Due to the darkness, Bai Xifeng almost missed a step. She quickly grabbed the staircase railing and avoided falling down.
Because of that, she missed the time to get out because the security guard had already locked the entrance and left. Bai Xifeng tried to bang on the door, but no one heard. So, she had no choice but to spend the night in the library.
Fortunately for her, the library had a nice couch that she could use to sleep. It was spring season. The night temperature was not too cold or hot. She could endure it. She was not that delicate.
The next morning, when the librarians were getting ready to start their work, they found Bai Xifeng sleeping on the couch. They were surprised. They woke up Bai Xifeng. They asked Bai Xifeng if she was feeling okay. Even though it was spring, it was not good to sleep outside like that.
Bai Xifeng told them that she was fine. The librarians asked what happened. Bai Xifeng told them that she did not realise the library was closed until the light was turned off. She rushed after that and almost fell down while going downstairs. Because of that, she missed the security guard who locked the door.
The librarian asked whether there was someone had come to remind Bai Xifeng about the closing time. Bai Xifeng shook her head.
The next time, the librarians had a meeting with the upper management. They would like to install the speaker in the library. The librarian used Bai Xifeng as an example of why they needed to install that. After that, the librarian just used the speaker to remind the students who were in the library as the closing time had approached.
Bai Xifeng was engrossed in reading, stopped reading, and left the library on time.
Back to the present, Bai Xifeng was really engrossed in reading the book. She did not realise that she had been sitting there and reading the book for a long time. It was not until her stomach growled that she realised the time.
Bai Xifeng stopped reading the book. She placed the book that the same place she had found the book earlier. She walked out of the bookstore. She looked at the sky. It was dawn. She wanted to eat first before going back to the inn. So, she walked around and found a familiar face.
"Sir, are you the man who sold the noodles on the corner street two days ago?" Bai Xifeng asked.
"Oh... You are the girl who ate at the noodle stall." The owner remembered Bai Xifeng.
"Yes. Just want to know. Do you close your stall? Not selling the noodle anymore?" Bai Xifeng asked.
"No... No... No... I am still selling the noodles, but I am just changing the location." The owner stated.
"Changing the location?" Bai Xifeng tilted her head.
"The previous location is not ideal for selling the noodles. But I don’t have much money to rent a location. So, I sold the noodles there. However, after you came and ate our noodles, a lot of people came afterwards. It sold three months of noodles for one day. Because of that, we have money to rent a more suitable place. In other words, young lady, you are our saviour." The owner smiled.
Bai Xifeng unknowingly helped them in financial matters. Well, Bai Xifeng did not care much about that.
"Well, where do you open your noodle stall?" Bai Xifeng gulped her own saliva. She wanted to eat the noodles that were made by the owner again.
"Oh... We open our store on 9th Street. By the way, we are about to set the stall up." The owner said.
"How long do I need to wait?" Bai Xifeng asked.
"Hmm... 15 minutes, I guess." The owner said.
"I will wait." Bai Xifeng answered it quickly.
So, they walked together to the spot where the owner would set up this stall. Bai Xifeng asked for the owner’s name. He told his name was Lou Man. This place was indeed a lot better compared to the previous one. Other stall owners also came to the place to set up their stalls.
