CHAPTER 262: CHAPTER 245 ENCOUNTER_2

Liu Zhining originally came here to supervise people moving wine boxes, but unexpectedly, such heavy work was all done by her alone. He couldn’t help but take another look at her, thinking that the headquarters had only symbolically sent someone to help, but it turned out to be such a diligent girl.

Liu Zhining felt it was no longer appropriate to let her continue working, as even a strong man would be exhausted after finishing these tasks.

"Qili, you can go back and rest."

"It’s okay, I can still do some paperwork."

"Paperwork, well, there happens to be a reference document sent over from there, and we are looking for a professional French translator to work on the translation. That’s not something you can do, and there’s not much else left."

"If you trust me, I’ll do the translation."

"You?" Liu Zhining looked at her in surprise, "You can translate French?"

"Yeah, I’ll give it a try. If the translation isn’t good, it’s not too late to find a professional translator."

Liu Zhining, who was genuinely short on time to find a translator, decided to trust Gu Qili on this occasion.

After handing the document to Gu Qili, he went to take care of other duties. During a break, he checked his email on his phone and found Gu Qili’s resume sent from the head office. He hadn’t expected that she was a top student from Australian University with distinguished certificates in four languages. What’s more important, she had won the bidding project for the general manager as their representative.

It only took her one month to go from a server to a supervisor, making her the fastest riser in history.

Seeing these dazzling achievements on the resume, Liu Zhining’s previous complaints disappeared. He originally wanted an experienced and capable senior staff member from head office, so when he found out that only a newcomer was sent, he was very unhappy, feeling that they were just placating him and not taking him seriously. Now it seemed that the head office must have held this new restaurant in high regard, therefore sending their most profitable assistant.

Before finishing work, Gu Qili translated the documents and handed them to Liu Zhining. Although he didn’t understand them, he found the content very familiar.

"Qili, you really are capable," Liu Zhining smiled at her, and thanks to her arrival, his work efficiency had greatly increased.

"Vice Manager Liu, is there anything else I can help with?"

"That’s all for today. You came to work right off the plane, you must be tired. Go back to the hotel and rest. I’ll contact you if anything comes up. Oh, and this is my number, let’s exchange contact details."

After taking down Liu Zhining’s number, Gu Qili returned to the hotel.

Just as she entered the lobby, she spotted a familiar figure. He seemed to be checking in at the reception desk.

"Tang Tianyou?!" Gu Qili called out in a not-so-loud voice.

The person turned his head immediately when he heard the voice. Dressed casually, Tang Tianyou looked surprised and delighted to see her here.

"Qili?!"

He quickly came over to her, with joy twinkling in his eyes, yet he was trying hard to mask it: "What are you doing in A City?"

"I’m here on a business trip, what about you?"

"Me?" He slightly raised his eyebrows, "My family is from A City."

"You’re from A City?"

"Yeah, my dad is a native of A City, and I grew up here with him. I went to study abroad in junior high and then moved to Aus City."

"Then why don’t you stay at your uncle’s place, since you’re rarely back?"

Tang Tianyou paused before replying with a face of helplessness: "Matchmaking pressure."

Gu Qili immediately understood and couldn’t help laughing unapologetically: "You’re not even that old, yet your family is so eager. It seems your uncle really wants to hold a grandchild."

"Sigh, the older they get, the more they act like children. I couldn’t deal with him, so I had to stay at a hotel to avoid his endless nagging. The most annoying thing is he keeps setting up blind dates for me every other day, it’s so irritating." Gu Qili struggled to restrain her laughter upon learning that the high-and-mighty Tang Tianyou also had to endure the troubles of blind dates.

"Sir, are you still checking in?" The receptionist was registering his information when he suddenly disappeared, so she had to interrupt their conversation. Tang Tianyou had thought about canceling because the presidential suite wasn’t available. Hearing the receptionist’s question, he apologized to Gu Qili and asked in a low voice, "Do you have any other rooms? Even a standard room is fine."

"Would a business suite be alright?"

"Yes."

Soon, Tang Tianyou completed the check-in process. He seemed elated, almost as if he wanted to dance with joy, but he was making a great effort to suppress his emotions, trying to appear serious and natural.

"I owe you for what happened last time; I never got the chance to properly thank you. If you’re free, I would like to take you out to dinner, is that okay?" Gu Qili asked, looking at him.

"Sure... cough!" Overcome with excitement, Tang Tianyou choked before he could finish speaking, coughing several times before completing the word, "yes."

"Then I’ll go up first, we’ll contact each other by phone later."

"Alright, see you later."

"See you later."

The two entered the elevator at the same time, with Tang Tianyou holding the door open for her to go in first. As the door closed, he asked, "What floor are you on?"

"The eleventh."

After swiping his card, Tang Tianyou pressed the button for the eleventh floor, "I’m on the eleventh floor, too."

The space in the elevator was relatively small, and as they stood face-to-face, neither spoke. Tang Tianyou was too excited to think of a topic to discuss, while Gu Qili was thinking about work.

Only when the elevator chimed did she snap back to reality, and they both stepped out together.

Gu Qili went ahead, with Tang Tianyou following her. He kept up with her for a long distance, which puzzled her, and just as she arrived at her room, Tang Tianyou also approached from behind.

"Tang...," she thought he had something to say, so she stopped and looked at him.

With an embarrassed move of his hand holding the room card, Tang Tianyou said, "What a coincidence, I’m staying right across from you."
