CHAPTER 264: CHAPTER 247 I WANT TO SPEAK BUT HESITATE

Gu Qili received a call from the 4S store, it was time for her car’s maintenance. Ever since Mu Shuoqian bought a new car, he transferred the ownership of the Maybach to her.

Gu Qili was not in Aus City, so she had to call Yuan Yi.

After explaining the situation, Yuan Yi paused before replying: "Madam, is the spare key for your car at home?"

"You can just go up and take it." She trusted Yuan Yi completely.

"But I don’t have the keys to your house."

"Hasn’t Mu Shuoqian returned yet?" Gu Qili glanced at her wristwatch, it was already ten o’clock.

"Madam." Yuan Yi seemed to have something on his mind but hesitated to speak.

"Brother Yuan, what do you want to say?" Gu Qili sensitively noticed his hesitation, "Just speak directly."

Only then did Yuan Yi say, "Madam, I haven’t seen Young Master Qian for a long time. Yesterday, I went to deliver something to him, but he wasn’t home. I waited until very late but he still didn’t return."

"Didn’t you call him?"

"I did, but only after I couldn’t wait any longer. He asked me to deliver the items to his office the next day." Yuan Yi knew that as a driver, it wasn’t his place to meddle in their matters and he shouldn’t overstep his bounds, but he thought highly of Gu Qili. Not considering the employer-employee relationship, she would be a great candidate for a friend.

"Madam, you should contact Young Master Qian more frequently and keep track of his whereabouts. He seems a bit off recently." Yuan Yi felt that with Gu Qili’s intelligence, she should understand what he meant.

After hanging up, Gu Qili immediately dialed Mu Shuoqian’s number. The phone rang once before he picked up, his voice as gentle as ever: "Off work?"

"It’s already ten o’clock now, do you think I’m a workaholic? What about you, haven’t you left work yet?"

"Yeah, I had some matters to deal with today, but they are finished now. I’m on my way home." The space he was in was very quiet, occasionally a car horn could be heard.

"Are you getting accustomed there?"

"Quite good. Vice Manager Liu is very nice and easy to get along with. Today I worked on the wine list, I picked the cover, and I did the translations. I feel a great sense of achievement."

Sounds of parking, opening the car door, and the light switch came from Mu Shuoqian’s end as he said, "I need to hang up first."

Gu Qili stared somewhat disappointedly at the screen which was about to go dark, but soon, a video call request popped up and she quickly accepted.

On the screen, Mu Shuoqian was taking off his tie, casually throwing it aside and then unbuttoning his shirt.

"Hey, are you changing clothes in front of me?" Gu Qili cried out hastily.

Gu Qili loudly scolded him for being shameless, but still kept her eyes fixed on him without blinking.

Mu Shuoqian then took off his trousers, leaving only black shorts on. His long and muscular legs stood on the floor as he adjusted his hair in front of the camera. His usually neat hair became disheveled, making him look more casual and home-like.

"I’m going to take a bath, do you want to watch?" He looked at her with a devilishly charming smile.

Without waiting for her response, Mu Shuoqian brought the phone into the bathroom, found a good angle, and set up the phone.

"Mu Shuoqian, have you been very busy recently?" Gu Qili, recalling Yuan Yi’s words, asked him directly.

Mu Shuoqian squeezed some shower gel into his hand and rubbed it, looking at her and saying, "It has been a bit busy, missing me?"

"My car needs maintenance, if you have time, please give the car keys to Brother Yuan."

"Sure, I got it."

"Have you been eating breakfast on time these days?" Gu Qili felt uncomfortable staring at him showering, so she picked up a cup of water from the table and started drinking.

"I have, but none as delicious as the ones you make." He suddenly approached the camera, saw her blushing face, and laughed satisfactorily. Then he turned his back to her.

The two of them chatted until late before ending the video call. Gu Qili lay in bed, the excitement from their conversation still lingering. She took out a photo of them together in Provence from her album, looked at it for a long time contentedly, then locked her screen and went to sleep.

The next morning, as soon as Gu Qili stepped out of her room, she saw Xiong Da and Xiong Er. They were standing at the opposite doorway, seemingly having faced rejection and were scratching their heads figuring out what to do.

Seeing Gu Qili, the two finally found answers to their lingering questions, no wonder Master Tang kept staying in City A and refused to return. The reason was right here.

Seeing these two, Gu Qili felt uneasy. She might not be able to confront them, but she could avoid them. She quickly nodded at them and was about to leave.

Just as she was stepping out, Xiong Da called out to her in a very deep and polite voice, "Miss Gu, please hold on."

Gu Qili stopped and looked at him, puzzled.

Xiong Da said, "Miss Gu, could you please do us a favor?

"Me? How can I help you guys?"

"We have an urgent matter that we need to report to Mr. Tang, but he’s locked the door and refuses to see us. Miss Gu, it’s really important, and it could potentially jeopardize Mr. Tang’s personal safety, so please, we really need your help."

The moment she heard Tianyou’s safety could be at risk, Gu Qili also became anxious and quickly asked, "How can I help?"

Xiong Da pulled Xiong Er aside, clearing the space in front of the door, and made a knocking gesture: "If it’s Miss Gu, Mr. Tang will definitely open the door."

Doubtful, Gu Qili walked over. Xiong Da and Xiong Er were his loyal subordinates; if they knocked and he didn’t answer, how could her presence make any difference?

She was merely trying it out, but after knocking twice, she heard someone from inside ask, "Who is it?"

"Tianyou...," she had barely gotten out two words before the door was opened.

Upon seeing Xiong Da and Xiong Er, Tang Tianyou’s smile immediately turned icy: "Are you two seeking death?"

Xiong Er stood to the side, not daring to speak. Xiong Da also silenced himself, and finally, it was Gu Qili who spoke, "Is it true that your life is in danger?"

He could clearly see her getting nervous, an expression born from her concern for him.

Instantly, Tianyou felt inexplicably uplifted; the flowers seemed to bloom and the leaves turned greener as his gaze softened when looking at Xiong Da and Xiong Er.

"It’s nothing, don’t listen to their nonsense," he reassured.

"We are not talking nonsense; those people know Mr. Tang you’re in A City, and since A City isn’t our territory, it’s easier for them to strike..."

"Shut up!" Tianyou glared at him sharply, but then his eyes softened when he turned to face Gu Qili, gently lifting his wrist as a reminder, "It’s almost time for work, you’ll be late."

Gu Qili looked at him deeply, "Whether it’s true or not, it’s always good to be more cautious."

"I know, don’t worry," he reassured her.

Tianyou was overjoyed, for she was caring about him—she really was.

He personally went to the elevator and pressed the button for her: "Go, it’s all fine."

Only after Gu Qili left did Tang Tianyou’s face turn completely cold, as he said to those two trembling figures, "Get in here."

Xiong Da and Xiong Er entered the room.

Xiong Da said, "Mr. Tang, you usually stay in A City for just one day, but this time you’ve stayed for a week—people are bound to take advantage of that."

Tang Tianyou went to the window, lit a cigarette, and sat on the balcony, slowly smoking.

Actually, he had finished his business long ago. The reason he stayed was because of her. Even if he could only join her for one meal a day or see her at the elevator entrance, it was incredibly satisfying for him.

Xiong Da was silent for a while before risking a beating to advise, "Mr. Tang, you and Miss Gu is impossible."

Tang Tianyou took a drag from his cigarette and blew a smoke ring: "I keep it in measure."

"But I think you’ve lost your senses, Mr. Tang." After saying this, he successfully saw Tianyou’s gaze turn sharply cold; he squinted his dark eyes and tossed the cigarette into the ashtray before jumping off the balcony and walking over with a chilling aura.

Xiong Da knew he had truly angered him this time, but still fearlessly continued, "Mr. Tang, you’re always meticulous, but with Miss Gu, you become impulsive and unpredictable. It’s easy for your enemies to catch you off guard...".

Tianyou had already swung a punch to his face, and Xiong Da grunted as he sat down on the floor, his cheek swelling rapidly.

"Get out, I don’t take lessons from you." Tianyou pointed towards the door, "Go back to Aus City now."

Xiong Da wanted to say more, but Xiong Er quickly covered his mouth and shook his head at him; Tang Tianyou, currently blinded by love, wouldn’t listen to them no matter how much they spoke.

After Xiong Da and Xiong Er left, Tang Tianyou lit another cigarette.

How could he not understand Xiong Da and Xiong Er’s concerns? He knew staying in A City was fraught with danger, but he just wanted to be by her side, regardless if he was facing a mountain of swords or a sea of flames.

As Tang Tianyou was leaving the building, he coincidentally ran into Gu Qili. She was standing by the roadside in front of the hotel, hailing a taxi, looking quite anxious.
