The Second Chance of Reincarnator
Chapter 123: Therapy
Long Road, which spanned from city to city, was the only road in all of Whitesky that was paved with smooth asphalt.
In that moment, a wagon with large wheels came rumbling down the road, its wooden frame creaking with each bump in the pavement.
With a cigarette in his mouth, Aren enjoyed the fresh air that was coming from over the fields, creating a sense of peacefulness and freedom in his soul.
That peacefulness lasted only a moment, as in the back of the wagon, Mira kept kicking the wall of the wagon.
It was like she was intentionally trying to break the wagon so they would have to walk the rest of the way.
"Stop that."
Aren ordered.
With a flinch, Mira stopped moving and gritted her teeth as she couldn't kick anymore, and then she screamed.
"You bastard! I will kill you if you use the power of the master mark on me ever again!"
"You would try to kill me even if I wasn't using it. You wouldn't listen otherwise, as you're as stubborn as a mule."
Aren said.
"I hate you! I HATE YOU!"
Mira screamed at the top of her lungs. So loud that her voice carried out into the distance.
"I am so heartbroken that you say that!"
Aren looked hurt, but then he just chuckled and tossed the cigarette he was holding onto the ground.
The wheel of the wagon ran over the cigarette butt, extinguishing it with a quiet hiss.
"…One day, I will witness your death with my own eyes. The lady of the Wretched will walk this land one day, killing every single one of you vermin, and I will ask a favor from Her.
"I will ask to be the one that will end your pathetic life."
Mira said.
"Yeah, yeah. Shout when you're hungry, and I'll make some food over the campfire."
Aren said, then shut the wagon's rectangular window, and just heard Mira's muffled screams from inside the wagon.
…
Wednesday evening, Rask, Humanity Street.
Minding their own business, the people of Rask walked about in the streets, either leaving their work, getting some groceries, or simply enjoying the cool autumn air.
Every now and then, some Blessed One walked amidst the people. Their heavy armor clinking like a steel melody.
Whenever the people of Rask saw them, they felt secure. Protected. And filled with hope for a better future.
In that moment, walking past the Blessed One, Nefarious Humility made his way down the street.
This street was actually named Humanity Street, as there used to be a parade that went through this street.
It was a parade to celebrate all of humanity before they marched into war against Rav'akari for the first time.
Yet.
No one seemed to notice this lonely Rav'akari making his way down the street, and no one even glanced in his direction.
It wasn't like he wasn't eye-catching.
They just couldn't notice him as if he were a ghost, and not in their wildest nightmares would they think that one of the Ten Fingers had come to one of the main cities.
At that moment, Nefarious walked to the door of a house. Knocked on the door. And waited for it to open.
A short moment later, the door was opened by a glasses-wearing woman, dressed in a tight black dress that made her look very professional.
She was from Earth, and this was how the therapists in her world dressed.
"Amok, nice of you to come here in time. Please, enter."
Dr. Kim said with a smile, welcomed him inside, and then closed the door behind him.
With slow steps, Nefarious made his way to the living room. He put his coat on the backrest of the chair and took a seat.
Dr. Kim sat on her own chair. Smiling. She had no idea about the real identity of this man sitting across from her.
"…Well, Amok. Last time around, you talked about your life with your siblings. How about we pick up where we left off?
She said.
"…Sure, what do you want to know?"
Nefarious asked with a sigh.
"How have they treated you lately?"
Dr. Kim asked.
"…I haven't talked to them, not really. I got a new pet lately, so I've been mostly spending my time with him."
Nefarious said.
"A pet? That's nice. What kind of pet, and what is his name?"
Dr. Kim asked with a smile.
"…A goldfish, and his name is Arthur. He's a beautiful little fish."
Nefarious said, then he covered his right fist with his left hand and started popping his joints with a satisfied sigh.
"You're still popping your joints. It can be harmful to your joints in the long run. I have had few previous patients who have also had strange kinds of addictions, like one who couldn't stop picking his nose."
Dr. Kim said.
"…I can't stop it, unfortunately. It is one of my Obsessions. All my siblings also have Obsessions. I guess it runs in our blood."
Nefarious said, rubbing his knuckles with his thumbs.
"…Have you got any new friends?"
"Yes, actually. I met a guy called Kael. I think he is my friend now, even though I didn't officially ask him."
Nefarious said.
"Are the two of you spending some time together?"
Dr. Kim asked.
"…Not yet. He is out of town, but I will meet him shortly, and I will ask him to be officially my friend."
Nefarious said with a smile.
"Good, that's good. Friends are good to get rid of your loneliness. Now, you've talked about these strange emotions you're carrying. Can you talk more about those?"
Dr. Kim asked worriedly.
"I have been feeling… greedy lately. I want everything. The new toy my sibling got? I want it. The love of our mother? I want it. Everyone's attention? I want it."
Nefarious said with a dark smile, but then he calmed himself down and leaned back against the chair.
"Greed? You've talked about pride, envy, and wrath previous times. It's looking like you have some Seven Deadly Sins dilemma."
Dr. Kim said.
"…Seven Deadly Sins?"
Nefarious asked, as he hadn't heard of that before.
"Greed, Envy, Pride, Wrath, Lust, Gluttony, and Sloth. The Seven Deadly Sins, the worst part of humanity."
Dr. Kim said.
"…Those are considered flaws?"
Nefarious Humility asked.
"Yes, and every human carries one of those sins. It's already bad to have one of them, but you seem to be harboring more than one.
"Maybe the way your siblings have been treating you has affected you more than I initially thought."
Dr. Kim said, and then she wrote something in her papers and then bit at the tip of her pen.
'…I don't have flaws.'
Nefarious thought to himself coldly and stared at Dr. Kim like he wanted to hurt her, but he didn't act on those impulses.
"I have to be somewhere. See you next month."
Nefarious said, and headed to the door.
"W-Wait, we still have half an hour left!"
She shouted after him, but he had already left, and the door banged shut, leaving the stunned therapist alone.
'What a troubled young man…'
She pinched her temples.
