Within the ruined town, the six masked figures knelt around a faceless young man who stood silently in the center of the circle.

Because of him being faceless, it was hard to know what he was thinking about, but it was clear that he was quite shaken and surprised by the turn of events.

However, Kael thought that there was a massive misunderstanding going on. They believed him to be some Lord guy. And he knew for a fact that he wasn't the one they were looking for.

'I think I can play along with this, and maybe I can have them tell me more about this place, and when the time is right, I'll escape back to the Whitesky and never come back here!'

Kael thought to himself and then looked at the doll-masked young woman and asked her a question.

"What's your name?"

With a bright smile behind her mask, she put her hand on her chest and raised her head.

"To keep the privacy of the people here, we've usually gone with nicknames, but if you so desire, we may reveal ourselves!"

Kael rubbed his chin and thought to himself.

'I don't think that is really necessary. They don't know that I already know who they are, and I'd rather have them think that I have no idea.

'If I get caught in a lie, and they realize that I am not the Lord person, they might kill me for knowing their identities. I'd rather have more chances at survival if it comes down to that.'

At that moment, he shook his head with his arms crossed in front of his chest, and he said.

"That wouldn't be necessary. Your nicknames are good enough for now."

"Very well, my lord! My name is Doll!"

Melia said with a smile.

"I am Rabbit. Nice to meet you, my lord, and I apologize for using my illusions against you. It won't happen again!"

Alec said.

"My name is Crow, it's wonderful to meet you, sir!"

Eron said with the crow mask donning his face.

"I am Starface, and I am honored to be in your presence, my lord."

Morgana said.

"Pale Rider, is my calling name, and I apologize for forcing you to speak against your will. I didn't recognize your lofty self."

Rune said.

"And I am Scream."

Lyrian said shortly.

She was wearing a mask of a screaming person.

"And we call ourselves the Society of Knowers, as we possess knowledge that those who are not part of our society cannot even dream of."

Melia said with a prideful smile.

'Society of Knowers…'

Kael thought to himself and glanced briefly in the direction of Rune—he had to be very careful what to say in his presence—it was pretty frustrating.

"I'll have to speak truthfully now. I don't know if I am this Lord person you all are talking about, and I don't even know who that is.

"I don't even know where I am."

Kael said.

He had to say this because he had already mentioned to Rune that he didn't know where he was during his questioning, so if he tried to pretend to be that Lord person with all these memories intact, he would've already been caught.

Thus, he had to come clean and confess the truth.

"We expected that, my lord, and so did you. Therefore, the Lord of the Realm Between had made memory crystals of all his memories, in case he had to reincarnate himself.

"Those memory crystals contain all the important pieces of his memory. Luckily, he didn't store them inside his castle, which is now in the control of the Wretched One.

"Instead, he stored them all in different places of the world. Some are in here, Realm Between, and some are back in Whitesky!"

Melia said excitedly and then led them back to the round table with a mirror etched on it, and she opened a hidden compartment underneath.

When she opened it, there were three blue crystals lying inside, shimmering in the dim light, and she took them out.

"We're luckily in the possession of three of his memory crystals!"

She said and put the three crystals on top of the mirror—the members of the Society of Knowers looked excitedly at them, as they had been craving to know the contents within.

However, they hadn't dared to use those memory crystals, as those were the property of the Lord of the Realm Between, and it would be stealing otherwise!

'Memory crystals…?'

Kael looked at them questioningly and saw that they were all looking at him with expectant looks.

"You may use them. Just press the crystal against your forehead, and you will receive the immense knowledge of the Lord of the Realm Between."

Melia said with a smile.

'And now I am in trouble. If I use these crystals, and the real Lord of the Realm Between comes around, and it comes to his knowledge that I took his valuable memories, I will be hunted down, and killed.

'However, those memories must be extremely important. Knowledge is power, and this might be a golden opportunity for me.'

Kael was really conflicted.

He was leaning towards taking those memories for himself, as that's what Outlaw would do, but also, caring about your own survival was also something that Outlaw should prioritize.

"Lord, is something wrong?"

Melia asked with a tilt of her head.

With a shake of his head, Kael picked up one of the smaller crystals and sat down in the throne with a high back.

"I have a question before I do this. How do you know that the Lord of the Realm Between has reincarnated? Is that some common knowledge or what?"

Kael asked.

"It's because of her!"

Melia pointed at the star-masked woman, Morgana, who curtseys in response, and started speaking on behalf of Melia.

"With my ability, Scared Gazer, I can see things that I am afraid to see, and for a few seconds, I looked to the past and saw the truth…"
