The Second Chance of Reincarnator
Chapter 54: Amethyst Pendulum
Dark Jewel's Corner, Train Station.
The train stood silently on the tracks. The conductor shouted for all passengers to board quickly. It was a messy hour, and the platform was crowded with people rushing to find their seats.
The train was long, with multiple cars stretching far down the tracks, and had a loud horn that echoed through the station.
While most passengers carried their baggage with them, a couple of men struggled to make their way down one of the cars.
With just a bottle of beer in hand, Dorian found himself seated at the far back corner, and Kael sat across from him, nothing separating them except the empty space between their seats.
However, so that their legs wouldn't get in each other's way, Dorian propped his feet up on the seat opposite him, and Kael sat with his feet tucked under the chair.
"Yawn~ I might just go get a look at the sleeping car and take a nap. Don't wake me up, because I won't wake up."
Dorian said, and while stretching his legs a bit, left the car without another word, closing the door gently behind him.
Kael looked back and forth across the car—he then found curtains, which were possible to draw closed—and he did that.
'Since it's a long way to Gehram, might as well practice for a bit.'
He brought out his Black Revolver and held it in his right hand, which was his dominant hand, and then pointed at the seat across from him.
He pulled the trigger, but nothing came out—not even the sound—but then Kael started making the sound all by himself.
"Bang… Bang… Bang…"
Kael twirled the revolver in his hand and thought that it felt slightly better than yesterday in his hand, as he'd grown more used to it.
'The length of the handle had grown shorter by, like, one centimeter.'
At that moment, his stomach started growling, as he forgot to get breakfast this morning.
Thus, after making the Black Revolver disappear, he moved the curtains out of his way and made his way to the dining car.
However, while making his way from one car to another, the train's horn went off, and the train's screeching wheels started moving.
'Off we go…'
He thought, entered another car, and it was just another passenger car—he ignored them all—and just walked to the end of the car.
However, while walking by one of the seats, his nose got tickled with a sweet smile, and his cheeks grew a blush.
He turned around to see the source of the smell and just saw a veiled woman sitting close to the window and looking out.
"Hey, where are you looking at?!"
A shriek of a woman sounded as she slapped the back of her husband's head, who was also busy staring at her, and he then quickly turned around.
"I-I am sorry… I just thought I smelled something good!"
"Y-you bastard!"
His wife started beating him up, causing quite a ruckus, and the other passengers in the car started to stare.
Kael pinched his nose to stop the sweet smell and just frowned.
'What a pleasant smell, but it's not the normal kind. It's almost like there is an aphrodisiac in that smell, and it only seems to affect men.'
When he looked around the passenger car, none of the men could fight the urges and just stared in her direction.
While she smelled good, she also looked incredibly beautiful. It didn't matter that no one could see her face directly. They just knew that she was a once-in-a-lifetime beauty.
She wore a dress of pale silver-blue, like moonlight or water. It flowed smoothly over her voluptuous body, with a fitted bodice that laced up the back in neat silver cords.
The neckline was cut low in the back but high in the front, leaving her shoulders and collarbones exposed. It was impossible to not notice her breasts, which threatened to spill out.
While the black veil cascaded over her face, it was still possible to catch a glimpse of her fair skin beneath.
In the midst of all that, she also had a pendulum. It was dangling between her breasts, right in the cleavage.
It looked to be a purple pendulum of amethyst.
'That pendulum… I recognize it!'
Kael kept walking, not wanting to be caught staring, and moved to another car, which was the dining car, and just ordered a heavy breakfast.
While waiting for the breakfast to arrive, he looked through the window of the door of the car, which he left just moments ago, and gulped.
'It must be the same, right? If it is Cursed Artifact, there is no way there are many of them, and she… looked just like her, didn't she?
'No, she smelled better, had fairer skin, and had turned even more beautiful. She was already gorgeous before, but now, she is on a whole other level.
'Miss Angelica…'
Kael gulped, received his breakfast, and started taking bites off the bacon while thinking about why she would be leaving.
'I know that she is supposed to be having a class tomorrow evening, but since she is leaving for Gehram, it must mean that she is leaving for good.
'I know that she did something to Jeff; I know it! It was as if she took some of his life force to make her even more beautiful.
'I should check out her pathway!'
Kael finished the breakfast, returned to the passenger car, and as he walked past the beautiful woman, he glanced at her and tapped his forehead.
In that moment, a head-splitting pain surfaced in his mind, and Kael immediately looked away while his eyes turned red.
He wanted to scream. He wanted to fall down to the floor in pain. He even wanted to cry tears of pain.
Yet, he gritted his teeth to swallow the cries of pain, returned back to his seat in another passenger car, and shut the curtains.
"Argh…"
Kael put his thumb between his teeth, bit tightly, and screamed in a muffled voice.
'It's not that her pathway level is too high for me to look at her Mind Image. It's not that! She has a way to stop people from looking inside her mind!
'Is it that Cursed Artifact? It must be! I thought it was Cursed Artifact to deflect evil spirits, but she must've lied.
'It's a Cursed Artifact to stop anyone from looking into her mind! She must be using it primarily against Leaders, and Mystics, but it happened to work against me as well!'
