The Second Chance of Reincarnator
Chapter 63: Embracing Danger
"…Embrace danger… Be crazy!"
Kael grinned—it was even crazier than Leroy's grins—and he then leaped towards the crazed Primal.
To some onlookers, it was as if he was jumping towards the jaws of death, as Kael's only chance at victory was from long range.
Outlaws wasn't a class for close-quarters combat, while Primal was. Thus, he was intentionally putting himself at a disadvantage.
"Want to die? Fine by me!"
Leroy roared, brought his fist forward, and thrust it towards Kael's face—it grazed past his head as he ducked.
And then, Leroy came face-to-face with the barrel of a black revolver, and the hooked finger pulled the trigger.
Bang!
The bullet landed in the middle of Leroy's eyes, right at the bridge of his nose, and it clearly rocked his brain to its core.
It made Leroy suffer from some balance issues.
"Fucker!"
Leroy whipped his arm around, but Kael ducked underneath it, circled to his side, and put the barrel of his revolver right against Leroy's ear.
With a pull of the trigger, the bullet drilled into the ear, and if his ear canal had been slightly bigger, it would've gone straight through.
However, the side of his skull managed to stop the bullet, but his ear got mangled, and he lost his hearing on the left.
"Argh!"
Leroy elbowed Kael in the chest and knocked him back several steps, but he stayed on his feet and lifted his revolvers.
With the pull of the triggers, the bullets rained down on Leroy, and despite him trying to shield himself behind his arms, the bullets kept landing.
However, as long as those bullets kept landing at his body, they weren't just enough to deliver the final blow.
At that moment, a smoking bullet flew out of the barrel of the black revolver. It kept spinning like a drill of death.
It went through the air, grazed past Leroy's arms, and went into his left eye. It kept going, through his skull and out the back of his head with a sickening squelch.
"Ah…"
Leroy blinked, as if it hadn't registered to him what just happened, and his legs were shaking as if they threatened to give out.
"What's going on over here?!"
Through the front door of the brothel, a tophat-wearing man entered. He had a cane, not because he needed it, but for fashion purposes.
He had styled silver hair with a perfectly groomed handlebar mustache.
In the chest, right at the folded part of his black suit jacket, there was a brooch of a silver sword and flower.
It was the symbol of Magisterial Yard!
"Sir~"
Genevieve walked over, fanning herself with the handheld fan, and when she walked past Kael, he smelled a satisfying fragrance of lavender and rosemary.
'She smells good… Just like Angelica, and wait…'
Kael's eyes widened as he saw an amethyst pendulum hanging around Genevieve's neck. It was the exact same one that Angelica had!
'Coincidence…?'
"What is going on over here, Genevieve?"
The top hat-wearing man asked rudely.
This place, the brothel, was frowned upon by the members of the Magisterial Yard, as they believed it was a disgusting den of sin.
"They agreed to fight under the Mutual Combat Law. I shall be the witness to that, as will everyone in here."
Genevieve said with a beautiful smile.
"Is that so…?"
He said, then looked at Leroy, who was struggling to get back to his feet with the bleeding wound in his head.
"Is it over?"
He asked.
"It isn't up to me. If the winner wants to, he can finish him off."
With a beautiful side-eye, Genevieve turned to Kael. Her eyes were like the eyes of a fox. It was dangerously charming.
'He has a hole in his head. I am pretty sure that he is already as good as dead!'
Kael thought to himself.
However, at that moment, Leroy stood up on his feet with the bleeding hole where his left eye should be.
"And if Leroy wants to keep fighting, he can under the Mutual Combat Law."
Genevieve said.
"I… I lost."
Leroy said painfully, looked at Kael with his only remaining eye, and took a bow of submissiveness.
It was the final act of accepting loss.
'What a monster. It doesn't matter that he has a hole in his head; he can still walk around as if it is a minor inconvenience.
'I've read about Primals from the books, but those words don't give them enough credit. They're monsters!'
Kael made another mental note in his head—be careful around Primals, and don't go picking a fight with them foolishly!
Then, Leroy left with the tophat-wearing man, as even though he could still walk with a hole in his head, he still had to seek medical attention immediately.
The bullet through his head was able to clear his mind. This wasn't something that he wanted to die for.
"Mm~"
Genevieve turned to Kael, fanned herself, and then took out her red drug pipe from the cleavage of her breasts.
With the arrival of the Magisterial Yard member, she had to hide the drug pipe, as it wasn't exactly legal, and she'd rather not get in trouble for that.
"What a mess you two caused~ I will talk to Leroy about compensating for the destruction, but don't think you can get away without paying either~"
She said with a wink.
"…How much."
Kael asked.
"2,900 Iris coin pieces should suffice."
Genevieve said with a smile.
Kael almost coughed blood.
It was clear by the paleness of his face that he couldn't afford that. Not even close. He was broke as hell!
"However, I am not a harsh bitch. I can see that you're new, and I doubt you could've even bought a single lap dance from one of my girls.
"Thus, I'll give you time to pay me back. Next time you come over to Gehram, make sure you have the money ready."
Genevieve said.
"…Sure thing."
Kael said, making his black revolvers disappear as his head felt like it would explode from the headache, and as he walked out, he thought about checking Genevieve's Mind Image.
'Wait, fuck no! I tried that with Angelica, and my head almost split open. I know that amethyst pendulum is good at protecting the mind.
'It looks like it is not Cursed Artifact. I've read that there aren't duplicated artifacts, so it must be something that someone can make.
'It's probably expensive, but I would really love to get my hands on that. I don't have to fucking worry about Leaders then.'
