(Ashes In The Wind)

With Ares defeated, I floated for a second aimlessly for a second before I let out a breath, my fists clenching once more as I quickly focused on the other battles happening.

They were akin to blues in the sky, with powerful attacks that made my skin tingle and my chakra eyes nigh-unuseable from the sheer amount of energy lingering in the sky.

The once bright white plane that existed out of Heaven had morphed, tainted with the darkness that the Architect had brought. Ash clouds pervaded the air, dozens of flashes of light happening below as spells were cast.

Bodies littered the ground, as did the overwhelming smell of blood and death. The bodies were set aflame by the spells being used.

It was hell brought upon heaven.

Angels were dragged back as they fell by the dozen per second. Even then the large forces of Heaven were successfully pushing back the massive army that had outnumbered them twenty to one.

Despite the success, I didn't feel any sort of achievement. My eyes travelled to the corpse of a nearby Angel that the Heavenly Army hadn’t been able to retrieve.

The full extent of the damage was clear to anyone nearby, with half his face removed and multiple puncture marks within his body. Blood still slowly leaked from his body onto the ground below that was riddled with many monster corpses.

My memory overlapped with one I knew to not be of my own. Bodies laid in what looked to be the deepest parts of Hell and the underworld.

I felt my heart turn. My vision heated up as I tried to rip away my eyes from the gruesome sight.

Was this really what the reality they deserve? The kind Angels who valued family above everything else..?

Was this what God had felt?

Quickly, I controlled my emotions and focused.

My eyes landed on the God that Frieren was fighting.

‘Appraisal.’

{Name: Tezcatlipoca}

{Titles: Lord of the Smoking Mirror / God of Shadows, Sky, Curses and Sorcery}

{Race: God}

{Power Level: 32,210}

Again, an Aztec God.

The Architect truly had used the knowledge of God’s enemies well.

My eyes landed on the being in person.

{Name: Malchior Veyl-Agrainu}

{Titles: The Fleshwright / The Architect / Son of the Eternal Mainyu}

{Race: Half-Lich Demigod}

{Power Level: 17,950}

He met my gaze imperiously and I sent him an equally vacant look, not allowing the hatred and darkness that was beginning to fester at my heart show.

So he was a Demigod? One that was the son of Angra Mainyu…

That made sense…

I vaguely remember he played a huge part in the Khaos Brigade, no wonder his son was such a pain in my ass.

I pulled my gaze away from the Lich Demigod.

Frieren seemed to be faring well as she beat the God back with only some difficulty which came primarily on the usage of his Domain skills showing their use. I had not felt Frieren use her blessing so she hasn't played all her cards yet.

The God showed himself tricky even as she showed her mastery of the magic and hit multiple attacks on the Aztec God of Shadows.

I found myself focusing on the army once more and more importantly the many dead Angels which were being taken back into the safety of Heaven’s confines.

Their bodies, torn and burned, were evidence of how intense the battle had become.

I spread my hands. Massive roots exploded from my feet, tearing through what remained of the broken terrain. They shot forward in every direction, deflecting against the strong barrier protecting the armies below.

I poured my previously untouched chakra into them.

They pulsed, growing thicker as they tried to leech from the large barriers of energy. The barrier rejected the absorption, pulsing once with a heavy hum that blew the tips of my roots off.

I imagine I made quite the scene, floating with my aura shining like a beacon in the sky. Fëa and my angelic visage unrestrained in my semi-divine form would have quite the presence. Thick powerful roots of mokuton that pulsed with chakra spreading out around me and slamming into the barrier below.

If I could break enemies’ barriers they would be subjected to the God-class battles above. Which would have their numbers thinning from stray attacks that could take out hundreds of them.

I could even send direct attacks at them instead of relying on God's voice which would no doubt leave me drained. Hence why I just clenched my jaw and focused harder, forcing more power into them.

This time they drilled deeper into the thick barrier's surface, starting to carve through the edge. I saw part of it fracture. Then the barrier reacted to the attempt and explosively pushed me back.

The thick roots were burnt and flung back through the air.

It was powerful… which made sense, this was stopping multiple God-class beings from affecting the army below.

My focus quickly wandered to how the church was faring. A panel opened up, showing the state of the Vatican City.

Dulio was in the sky, fighting yet another unknown God. While Vasco was dealing with the bulk of the main forces below along with Metatron and Sandalphon who organised the forces.

Strangely, enough I also what looked to be Fallen Angels?

I noticed Dulio and the God pause as something caught their attention, but couldn’t focus on it further as my eyes flickered to the flesh tower and the large lumbering Machine.

Once more I met the Architect’s eyes.

Gabriel and my Angels' concerned voices rang inside my head. The Architect was still the main issue at hand. He had simply sat back watching as he sent forces to destroy Heaven.

My decision was made as I momentarily watched my Arch-Seraphs fighting with the Gods.

They all seemed to have it relatively under control so I would deal a strike to the being at the crux of this attack. With that I joined the battle.

My aura pulsed and I exploded in a burst of speed forward, a small shockwave left in my wake as I rapidly travelled out of the perimeter of Heaven and into the strange domain that the machine resided in.

“Father!” I vaguely heard Michael shout.

The flesh tower pulsed ahead of me, its grotesque surface writhing with corrupted energy. I raised my sword, gathering holy power for a strike that would end this abomination.

Hopefully that would remove this domain they had perversed Heaven with.

A flash caught my eye.

There, floating in front of the large machine was yet another God. One who looked intensely focused on a massive gathering attack. The attack pulsed and with difficulty the being aimed it towards Michael, who was locked in combat with Huitzilopochtli barely fifty meters away.

The blast erupted.

I raised my sword, cursed light crackling to life instantly as I let a huge amount of angelic mana pour into my newly-forged blade.

One I hadn’t had time to decide on a proper name for.

A beam of cursed light split the sky for a brief moment as a wave of pure destruction wrapped around the beam. There was a brief pause before the strange attack bent the cursed light out of the way and travelled through.

I wanted to gawk and I attempted to raise the barrier by sending compact balls of light that spread out to form barriers.

The beam smashed through them and the beam pierced through the sky towards Michael.

Michael caught it, watching how it smashed through my light barriers and diving backwards first both away from the beam along with the slash Huitzilopochtli directed towards him.

Calmly, he sent a small beam at Huitzilopochtli that impacted his stomach and forced the God to focus on not allowing it to pierce his stomach. Both hands shooting a beam of solar energy to collide with the opposing light.

The attack that had been released phased through reality and curved, diving down with Michael who narrowed his eyes.

I watched on as the beam rapidly approached him.

He calmly raised his hand even as he rapidly approached the barrier below, fingers spread. Golden runes spiral out from behind him, forming a complex mandala of rotating script in angelic language.

The Beam tried to pierce through the complex sphere of rotating script, only to find itself hijacked in a display of power that genuinely left me shocked. The beam attempted to lash out with energy as if it was conscious.

A glow of purple surrounding the halted crackling green beam. Michael paused in the air, swinging his arm in a powerful pull and the beam was sent back towards the Architect.

Michael stared coldly and another complex rotating angelic circle was made, forming into one of the God-class spells I knew as Layered Detonation.

Hundreds of angelic circles formed, each designed to confine and channel holy energy. The circles began to draw in ambient light from the surroundings, amplifying its intensity.

Michael sent the piercing tunnel of light back up to the recovering Aztec God.

Which allowed him to focus on the attack that had just broken free of his control.

I attempted to help again, only for my attempts to be rejected by the insanely powerful attack.

Michael could only take the attack full force. A dome of sickly green energy encased him instantly, chains of the same power wrapping around his limbs and torso.

The Archangel's body convulsed and his aura came out in full force, fighting off a black power that was trying to encase and destroy him. His sword remained in his hand and he resisted with all his might.

I stared in shock for a heartbeat.

Michael's face was twisted in pain, his wings straining against the thick powerful bonds.

I abandoned my assault on the tower, rushing toward him. My sword raised, I made a strong beam of dragon fire infused with all gathered negative energy spill out of the tip of my sword.

Huitzilopochtli came to block it immediately, a titanic swirling disk of solar energy coming to form in front of him, Aztec symbols that I could barely make out coming to write itself along the surface in long lines.

The blast of Dragonfire pushed against the solar disk, which worked to deflect the attack away.

I scowled, worriedly looking at Michael and the God that had performed such an attack. I prepared to attack.

Only for a sound to distraction me first. It subverted my senses and I barely threw up a layered light barrier to protect myself before the impact landed.

Apparently, the barrier didn’t matter and cracks formed instantly. Golden light flickered and bled away.

The pressure forced me down a few meters before I stabilized midair, sweat dripping off my brow.

I instantly looked up.

Two figures stepped through the red mist above the tower. The first was massive, hunched forward like a predator. Crocodilian jaws framed a lion’s mane, and the bulk of its body looked stitched from multiple beasts.

A faint glow burned in her eyes as she moved.

That alone was enough.

The second was more human.

Azure and green armor carved with raindrop symbols.

{Name: Ammit}

{Titles: Devourer of the Dead / Soul-Eater / Beast of Final Judgment}

{Race: Divine Beast}

{Power Level: 41,030}

{Name: Tlaloc}

{Titles: Lord of Storms / Bringer of Rain / God of Floods and Sacrifice}

{Race: God}

{Power Level: 37,065}

‘So it was her…’

The God known as Ammit had been the one to unleash that attack.

“So you launched the attack.” I stated, my voice devoid of any positive emotion.

The fact it had taken that long to gather must have meant it was some sort of special attack even for God-class beings.

Ammit didn’t reply and the two Gods didn’t wait any further, uncaring of my surprise as they sent two powerful attacks my way.

Ammit’s large maw opened, a swirling mass of darkness forming and bending the space around it with the sheer presence it possessed. The attack swirled, gaining a purple glow.

Tlaloc raised his hand, thunder rumbling overhead as the clouds of ashes were turned into thunder clouds. Crackles boomed through the sky as multiple thunderbolts came together to form a lance, multiple magical circles coming to form on its tip and Aztec words being written along its sides.

As the two attacks were launched, my life briefly flashed before my eyes.

That subsided as they travelled harmlessly through an illusion a mere few metres away from me.

Not giving them a chance to recover, I took advantage of their brief surprise.

I exploded towards the slightly confused Ammit.

Behind me, her attack imploded and a massive amount of power was released, a purple swirling mass of energy expanded and devoured everything in its sight.

The thunder lance that had been sent alongside it multiplied when it came close to hitting my illusion.

A massive boom travelled the air as thunder crackled and multiple wild bolts obliterated thousands of Archean Spiders and Werewolves below.

Tlaloc sensed something, as he came to block my attack just as my massive light construct flashed into view for a moment and it smashed into Tlaloc’s face, its burning surface packed with enough holy power to level a town.

He was sent flying through the air like a sack of potatoes and for extra measures, I sent a mass of light chains towards his figure, each chain making heat waves form in the sky from the burning holy energy.

I barely had time to focus on Ammit.

The Egyptian God’s eyes were already trained on me, heavily radiating deadly intent.

My sword spun and met Ammit’s large cleaver.

Our blades clashed with sparks flying and a loud clang ringing out in the sky.

Her cleaver was massive, and she quickly drew it back to send another slash my way. I came close and used a technique I hadn’t used for a while.

First Form.

My blade moved in a tight arc, fire briefly forming and turning into a purple fire that trailed behind the sword’s arc. Her cleaver barely caught it, and the clash made a shockwave rip through the air.

The purple fire was made physical and enhanced with dragon fire.

Ammit was forced to back away explosively as cursed light infused dragon fire flew towards her, she ducked nimbly and accelerated towards me again.

I blocked a wide strike, the brief lessons of sword training I had coming back into play.

She snarled, pushing forward, but I didn’t give her a chance. My cursed light surged, and I added holy energy tentatively as I didn’t know if my sword could handle it. Sure enough heat began pouring off my sword like a furnace.

Third Form.

I ducked low, dragging the blade in a rising slash. Fire exploded and my swing became a blur even to me. She blocked it, but stumbled in the air. She swung her arms and pushed off me as my sword left a cut through the air.

She decided on quick slashes instead of trying to contest me in a competition of strength.

I couldn’t deny I felt powerful.

In normal circumstances even with the sheer power difference, experience was a key factor in a battle… it still was as she anticipated and reacted before certain things happened.

But this special type of fire breathing showed its sheer power.

My eyes widened though, as I sent a cursed light slashed at a hastily incoming Tlaloc. Who dodged while Tlaloc sent a storm of crackling thunder infused with the power of what I could only assume was his domain.

I barely had time to kick back, my superior power making up for it as I avoided an outward explosion of cracking divine thunder.

I took a breath and heightened everything to the max. Coming to rely on my sun breathing completely as two Gods cornered me.

Ammit came from behind, I turned and used my superior power in my Semi-divine form to block and push her off.

Narrowly avoiding Tlaloc’s massive thunder lance, I sent a beam of cursed dragon fire at him, only to grit my teeth as I tensed to avoid a wave of dark purple energy from Ammit.

Tlaloc was behind me once more, a kick sent to my chest that connected and sent me flying through the air.

Ammit’s attack was already making its way to impact me. Instead of blocking, I used zapping light. Barely avoiding the attack and teleporting behind Ammit.

I had only been able to use zapping light for that moment due to the small amount of time I had from the attack impacted me. The force of the kick hasn’t allowed me to move due to the momentum.

Ammit turned, slashing at me with the massive cleaver and I met her in another clash. Rings formed in the air around us, pressure, heat, the force of each strike distorting everything. My grip tightened.

She went for a heavy downward swing.

Seventh Form.

My body blurred. I moved behind her, avoiding the crack of divine thunder that passed through the space I had been in not even a moment ago and slashing deep across her back.

She screamed.

“Don’t worry, I’ll seal whatever's left of you back into a doormat so you can at least serve some time being useful.” I harshly whispered.

She punched me back into a crack of divine thunder that impacted me.

My body spasmed and pain lit across my entire body.

I could only avoid a wave of darkness and block Tlaloc’s punch.

That didn’t help against Ammit’s enraged slash that streaked across my arm and made blood leak out of my side. I kicked Tlaloc and performed a truly giant blade of cursed holy dragon fire that tore through the world for a brief second.

I laughed. “Or maybe a sheath so every time I draw my blade you can taste your failure.”

Even as I laughed I didn’t remain idle, a burning spear of holy light forcing the encroaching Aztec God to back away. I pushed back, avoiding another wave of darkness and slashing away a bolt of divine thunder.

As I was sent back, I stared up.

For a brief moment, three Gods charged my way.

Tlaloc had recovered, a nasty burn on his face and a thoroughly pissed-off scowl prominent on his features.

Ammit looked angered beyond reason as she was already shooting towards me through the air and Huitzilopochtli had seemingly decided to join the fun as he flew towards me at incredible speeds from behind.

For a moment, I thought that was it.

My power was superior to all of them, but even two was a long stretch. I had barely been able to hold the both of them off temporarily, my higher power level and cursed sun breathing technique showing it’s worth against their experience.

The fact all of their attacks had this weird weight behind them as well, as if they were infusing the power of their domains behind them somehow didn’t help my case.

Three was impossible.

Still…

I was going to kill at least one of them if I was going to die.

Quickly, I released Galadriel and zapped her down into the battlefield. She sent me a look of surprise and hurt. We were meant to stick together but three Gods would definitely see her killed.

Ammit was the first one to close in on me.

A massive torrent of water boomed through the air in a powerful gust and slammed into Ammit from the side, the force sending the massive divine beast tumbling through the air.

Gabriel materialized beside me, her form blazing with power as water spiraled around her like living armor.

“Retreat.” She said quickly, not taking any more time to speak as she shot forward without hesitation.

Gabriel shot toward Tlaloc, her halberd crackling with holy energy as she engaged the storm god in brutal close combat. Their weapons clashed with thunderous impacts that shook the air.

She glanced at me briefly, concern flashing in her eyes, but Tlaloc's counterattack forced her full attention back to the fight.

Huitzilopochtli hesitated, clearly not expecting another Archangel to join the battle. That moment of uncertainty was all I needed. My eyes flicked to Michael.

The energy dome around him pulsed with power, the chains tightening as he fought to break free. His holy aura flickered under the strain.

I shot toward him, already knowing that Huitzilopochtli would recover in time and preparing accordingly.

Sure enough, Huitzilopochtli recovered and intercepted me. His obsidian blade met my sword in a shower of sparks, solar fire erupting from the contact point.

He pressed forward aggressively.

Third Form.

I deflected the blade and dragged my sword in a powerful rising strike. Fire exploded and pushed the Aztec God away.

He quickly rushed back in. Meeting me in quick slashes so I couldn’t perform any sun breathing techniques. His blade work was precise, each strike calculated to drive me back. I parried, the heat from his weapon singeing the surface of my skin.

As we clashed, I began layering illusions to confuse him. He quickly picked up on after getting wounded from the first slash. As he backed away I pushed on, my eyes narrowed with anger.

Waves of chakra erupted from me, a forest coming to bloom around him and immediately emerged to attack him from all angles. As if nature itself was rejecting him, all of the trees had massive roots attacking him from every direction.

The sun god roared in defiance, and heat blasted around him in a circle. A massive solar wave erupted out from and turned the large chakra-enhanced forest into a wasteland.

I shot towards his back.

The sun god spun, bringing his weapon around in a wide arc. I ducked and thrust upward, my sword grazing his ribs. He grunted but didn't slow down. Even as blood leaked from the wound I had left on him.

A miniature sun formed above his head. I rolled to the side through the air as the solar blast scorched the space where I'd been floating. The heat was intense enough to make heat waves pour out.

The sky was already a mess.

With so many God-class attacks flying around, the air was chaotic with rampant storms and tornadoes randomly forming in some places, while in others the sky was darkened with ash.

As I looked over to Ammit, I found myself surprised as the Egyptian God was being forced back by a massive torrent of divine fire. Hestia, along with Aphrodite had entered the battlefield at some point.

Another blast of dragon fire tore into the flesh tower in the distance and a quick look revealed that Tiamat hadn’t waited around either.

The red domain began cracking and the empowerment the monsters below had begun to flicker out. Their movements went between fast and slow.

In mere moments, with the addition of two powerful Olympian Goddesses and one Dragon King the entire tide had shifted. Suddenly the Architect’s allies found themselves on the back foot.

I looked over to Michael once more, and the strange attack that consumed him. My chakra eyes activated and I flinched back from the energy that surrounded him.

It wasn’t divinity. It was something far more powerful. An energy I recognised from when I had elected Dulio the Saint and selected my six Holy Knights.

Faith Energy?

I avoided another strike by dodging in the air, slashing at him with cursed light.

He backed away, sending dozens of small solar energy blasts.

As I flew up and avoided all of the solar blasts, I rushed towards Michael again. Not before allowing Mokuton to burst from me with massive vines that shot towards the Aztec God.

A burst of hot solar energy tore through the encroaching Vines and Huitzilopochtli once again intervened.

I pointed the tip of my sword towards him in true anger.

“Judgement.”

-{Uriel}-

Set snarled, purple energy crackling around his wounds as cursed sand swirled in violent spirals around him. The Egyptian god's divine form flickered, blood seeping through the dark cloth wrapped around his body.

His massive body waved a fist, sending waves of cursed sands to try to stop Uriel’s approach. Uriel didn't give him time to recover. Holy fire erupted from his spear in a concentrated lance that punched through the air.

Set barely managed to raise a wall of sand, the cursed grains turning to glass under the intense heat.

The God of chaos staggered back, more sand rising around him like a living storm. Purple lightning crackled through the particles of sand as Set thrust his hands forward, sending the entire mass hurtling toward Uriel.

Uriel spun his spear, creating a whirlwind of holy flame that consumed the cursed sand. Forming glass shards that rained down as he pressed his attack, diving through the dispersing cloud to strike at Set directly.

His spear caught the god across the shoulder, holy fire searing through divine flesh. Set roared in pain and fury, lashing out with claws wreathed in chaotic energy.

Uriel twisted away, the claws scraping across his armor. He retaliated with a sweeping strike that forced Set to fly backwards through the sky, more sand rising defensively around the wounded god.

Set's eyes burned with light as he gathered his power. The sand beneath them began to shift and writhe, forming into massive serpentine shapes that lunged at Uriel from multiple angles.

Holy fire met his cursed sand in an explosive collision. Uriel moved with rage evident in his rigid posture, his spear cutting through the constructs while maintaining the relentless pressure on Set.

Each strike pushed the god further back, his defenses weakening.

A concentrated beam of holy fire pierced through Set's latest sand barrier, striking him right in the chest. The god cried out, his divine form wavering as purple energy leaked from the wound.

Set raised both hands, summoning a massive sandstorm that blocked out the light. Purple lightning danced through the swirling chaos as he launched a final desperate attack.

Uriel didn't hesitate. He drove his spear into the sky, holy fire erupting outward in all directions. The flames consumed the sandstorm, burning away the cursed energy until only clear air remained.

A burning lance was sent towards him and Set whispered something, the fire lance destabilising in the air.

Set took shallow breaths. His floating form came to shrink as his divine energy dwindled. Sand continued to swirl around him, but in weaker strides, barely maintaining cohesion.

He roared one more time, and a massive swirling chaotic sand storm expanded to cover a mile in each direction. Instantly, tendrils of thick sand formed in the hundreds.

Pure power flowing through them like tentacles of chaotic energy.

Uriel’s breathing was short as he spun through dozens of massive tendrils, his spear gaining a layer of condensed holy fire that allowed him to slice through them.

Uriel glanced over to his brother who seemed to be trapped in a special type of attack. He created a ball of swirling flames as sand came to create a rapidly circling dome around him. The ball grew and formed into a miniature sun. Uriel further layered an angelic God-class spell into its fiery depth.

The ball was split in half by a crackling angelic circle and he let out a breath as his magic reverse shot down.

Chain Explosion.

A dome of holy light erupted around Uriel, vaporizing the sand barrier in a brilliant flash that could be seen by the entire battlefield below. The explosion rippled outward, consuming every grain of cursed sand in its path.

But it didn't stop there.

Another dome materialized at the edge of the first explosion, detonating with identical force. Then another. And another. The chain reaction spread like wildfire across the heavenly skies.

Each successive dome carried the same devastating power as the first, creating a cascading wave of destruction that hunted down every particle of Set's cursed sand.

Purple energy crackled and died as the holy explosions consumed it. Glass fragments from the superheated sand rained down like deadly snow, only to be vaporized by the next wave of explosions.

As the sand finally dispersed, Uriel stared in disgust at what was revealed.

Set barely floated in the sky, his breathing ragged and his form shrunk to a normal human size. Set's host was a grotesque patchwork of flesh and metal. Purple veins of corrupted energy pulsed beneath the skin, and strange artifacts had been sown directly into the tissue.

The sight was revolting.

“To see how far you have fallen is almost a pity.”

Set glared defiantly for a moment before he showed Uriel a grin. He slowly laughed.

Uriel raised his spear and prepared to kill the God permanently, just as he went to finish him his head snapped up as reality tore open within the rapidly declining domain.

Shivers went down his spine as power flooded the area. Draconic Power. Immediately his attention was focused elsewhere.

A massive portal ripped through the area, dark energy crackling along its edges and the flesh tower that was burning gave a last pulse. Through it stepped something that made even the god-class battles pause.

In that instant of distraction, Set's divine essence abandoned his host body. The corrupted flesh collapsed as the god's true form escaped through a smaller tear in space.

Uriel's spear punched through the empty host, tearing the grotesque body to shreds in frustration. The purple energy dissipated. The Artefacts and Uriel watched them drop below. Barely coming unscathed from such an attack.

He scowled but couldn't waste time pursuing Set.

His attention snapped to where his Father fought near the massive portal. Uriel shot through the air toward Kai, his wings beating furiously as he raced to provide support.

A single massive limb emerged from the portal and squashed a good amount of werewolves beneath its weight.

The ground below shook, and a monster was revealed.

-{Kai}-

The sun God flinched, his eyes blackening as his sins were replayed to him.

My blade slashed.

The pure light slash transformed into crackling purple light that was further infused with the boost from the negative emotions the sword was absorbing.

He snapped back to reality just in time, his eyes burnt with rage. The God was only able to raise a barrier that the cursed light cut through and sliced into his chest.

The sun God gritted his teeth in pain as blood sprayed out from the wound. The only thing that stopped him being completely bisected I suspected was his innate magical resistance and a ring on his hand that covered his chest in a purple glow.

His hands spread out and three balls of solar energy formed, instantly glowing brighter and releasing bright hot beams of solar lasers that shot towards me.

Motes of light were already gathered around both my hands and I sent them towards him, swirling to avoid the lasers that began following my moments until Huitzilopochtli saw the incoming attack.

I flew towards him, and avoided a blade of solar energy. As it passed me I attempted to leach all of the light energy it produced, only finding minimal success as the solar energy seemed to resist my attempts with fervour.

The blade exploded behind me into strands of solar energy that burnt the air.

An illusion overlapped with reality and Huitzilopochtli began attacking an illusion, only to realise what I was doing a few moments later. He raised a disk of solar energy that blocked the balls of light that expanded into burning spikes on impact.

Another ball was sent towards him and burst into chains that he didn’t hesitate to tear apart. His eyes widened as my Adamantine Chains wrapped around one of his limbs.

“Judgement.” I pointed, using the godly skill once again.

I only had a few moments, as he recovered faster than before.

In that time my chakra pulsed and I performed my first sealing technique in combat.

Power dampener.

I had learnt how to create seals to a certain extent which was to say I had been able to copy already existing seals, and make slight tweaks to them. I didn’t know many, since they were hard to master and even harder to use but I was making progress.

A seal spread across his arm, akin to a green tattoo it pulsed and as he sent dozens of lances of solar energy towards me. Half of them were noticeably weaker than the other half.

The God looked at me, but with a hint of fear and recognition. “So, you’ve returned. I knew your death was too good to be true.”

I didn’t reply, sending the fastest attack I had in my arsenal. A slash of cursed light.

He raised another disk but the seal did its job and the cursed light made the disk explode.

“Though, it seems like you’ve been weakened. So I won’t miss this opportunity!” He said, recovering in the air.

My sword glowed as his hatred became even deeper.

He swept his arms out rapidly and powerful attacks were formed.

A dozen miniature suns materialized around him, each one pulsing with enough energy to level a city block. They launched toward me in sequence, forcing me to weave between them as they exploded in brilliant flashes.

I retaliated with a concentrated beam of light that pierced through two of his solar constructs. To which he countered by creating a massive spear of condensed sunlight that he hurled with tremendous force.

The weapon grazed my shoulder, searing through my flesh and leaving a burning wound. I gritted my teeth and pressed forward, my sword crackling with accumulated hatred energy.

I could already feel my powerful regeneration factor fighting off the solar energy in my wound.

Huitzilopochtli raised both hands and the sky above us began to glow. Solar energy gathered in a massive formation that looked like a second sun forming overhead.

I felt divine energy fill the air as his divinity came to the full front. He swept his arms again and burning swords made from the very sun itself rained down.

Mokuton once more came to life and vines came to form a massive tree that I used like a puppet to shield me. As the solar energy burnt through the chakra infused wood. Between the both of us an insane amount of energy was used.

I grabbed my sword, pulling a massive amount of my magic.

The massive tree protecting me opened up, allowing me to send a massive wave of cursed light that blew the God away with a scream of pain. The sun above was abruptly cut in two as the cursed light festered against the solar energy.

I watched the god fly through the air. I was about to counter when everything changed.

The air itself seemed to thicken.

My body suddenly felt three times heavier as gravity pressed down with crushing force. A chill ran down my spine. This wasn't just powerful, this was something on a completely different level.

The sky tore open.

A massive portal ripped through reality above us, dark energy crackling along its edges. The pressure intensified, making even my god-class form strain against the oppressive force.

Then it stepped through.

The dragon was colossal. Scales black as void absorbing light itself, and each wing flap sending shockwaves through the air. Its eyes burned with malice as it surveyed the battlefield below.

There was a brief pause.

The armies below stared in shock, all battles momentarily pausing.

The Angels and Gods above reacted with varying expressions. All of my Angels became grim faced while the enemy Gods grinned.

The massive Dragon opened its maw and roared. The sound was deafening. A primal bellow that shook Heaven's barriers and sent weaker beings on both sides crashing to the ground.

The very air vibrated with raw power.

The dragon's gaze swept across the battlefield before settling on our group. Its lips pulled back in what might have been a smile, revealing teeth the size of buildings.

My grip on my sword tightened.

{Titles: The Three-Headed Dragon of Ruin / World-Eater / The Blight of Civilization}

{Race: Dragon (Corrupted)}

{Power Level: 91,200}

The superclass.

Since coming to this world I had gotten a rough idea how the system’s power levels translated into this world's power classes.

A brief calculation had me guessing that if calculated equally, this Dragon had at least 1500+ stats in each stat. That was if he was equally balanced and not specialised in anything.

As the system’s stat grew higher, I had learnt that they began holding more value. Meaning while it looked like the Dragon was only a few times stronger than me. It was multiple dozens of times my power.

This was without a doubt the most powerful being I had encountered.

That was made clear as the Dragon roared, shaking the entirety of Heaven. Its slitted eyes locked into me immediately. Two other heads appeared from behind its large frame and came to immediately lock on me as well.

Azi Dahaka.

An evil dragon.

I wracked my brain.

I had even rescued the current user of Sephiroth Graal, Valerie Tepes, to stop its misuse. The world was a mix of dxd and Riordanverse so I could not rely on canon; But things were happening too quickly. Azi Dahaka was meant to be sealed.

My eyes met the Architect’s.

The Architect no longer held a calm expression, instead, in its place he wore a giant scowl on his face as if I had done him a great disservice.

Had he done this? Why was Azi Dahaka so strong? His father had supposedly made the dragon so was this result of more experiments?

The three heads pinned me down, and all revealed their sharp teeth in twisted grins.

What followed happened in less than a single moment.

The massive Dragon’s tail whipped up and moved towards me like a spear, with a speed I couldn’t block or fly away from. Despite that, I attempted to fly back with all my might, raising multiple barriers that were penetrated as if they weren’t there.

A blur of golden light slammed into me from the side. Uriel's arms wrapped around my torso as he hurled me away with every ounce of his strength, sending me tumbling through the air.

His eyes blazed with fierce determination as he spun to face Azi Dahaka. Holy energy erupted from his spear in a concentrated torrent that could have leveled mountains.

The air itself caught fire as holy power condensed into a lance of pure destruction.

For a moment, Uriel looked invincible.

Then something rippled through the ground beneath him. An invisible wave that made me shiver. It came to hit Uriel in the back with no physical knowledge.

Uriel's eyes went blank for just an instant.

I looked towards the ground, and saw a being sent what must have been a mental attack.

Galadriel slithered rapidly decimating everything in her path and promptly devoured the figure but it was too late.

The dragon's massive tail pierce the sky.

Quickly, I gathered an attack. Every Gravity spell I knew was used in some sort of way to try to slow the tails speed down. Mokuton exploded out of me and formed a forest as I layered Uriel’s form with multiple illusions.

MindMaven activated and I pushed my ability to process to the max.

It wasn’t enough.

The dragon saw through my illusion and the forest gathering around Uriel in the sky was decimated with pure power. The Dragon ignored my attempt at slowing it with gravity with a contemptuous ease.

I watched in horror as golden blood sprayed across the sky.

Uriel's spear fell from nerveless fingers, his holy aura flickering like a dying flame. He hung limply, the dragon's tail piercing through his heart and entering the back of his body.

He didn’t look shocked, weakly turning to meet my eyes with a blissful smile.

“Uriel!” I heard Gabriel’s shout.

Even as that happened, the gathering technique he had been creating erupted. The explosion that followed was beyond powerful.

Reality itself seemed to scream as the quasar detonated, unleashing the compressed energy of a dying star directly into Azi Dahaka's face. The massive dragon was blown backward, all three heads roaring in pain and surprise.

Scales came off the the place the impact zone had been and blood leaked in copious amounts down the side of its titanic body.

Frieren appeared beside me, her hands weaving complex spells. Multiple magical circles erupted around the dragon, unleashing concentrated bursts of elemental magic that hammered against its scales to no visible effect.

Tiamat's roar came next, one that shook the heavens to a lesser degree as she transformed into her true draconic form. Her massive blue frame slammed into Azi Dahaka with the force of a meteor, sending the evil dragon spinning through the sky.

Though that was more the force than actual damage.

I numbly appraised her and saw her power rise into the super-class level. I barely registered any of it.

My eyes were locked on Uriel's motionless form as it fell toward the battlefield below. The golden light that had always surrounded him was fading, leaving only empty armor and lifeless wings.

Frieren was forced to block an attack from Huitzilopochtli and the enemy God’s that were present on the battlefield took this chance to regroup.

The God Frieren had fought, had seemingly fled the scene.

While Ammit, Tlaloc, and Huitzilopochtli rallied together.

Tiamat was keeping up with Azi Dahaka but I noticed a lack of damage being wrought against the evil dragon, or it was better to say permanent damage as the Dragon showed itself to have a powerful regeneration factor.

Azi Dahaka waved his tail and Frieren raised multiple barriers above me that shattered under the force. Leaving me to be slammed out of the sky.

The only reason my body didn’t outright break was due to it being purely physical damage. Meaning I came out relatively unharmed.

Gabriel shouted my name, her eyes showing worry and pain.

Frieren looked like she was going to help only to be forced to block another attack from Huitzilopochtli, her cloak burning under the heat of the sun-god’s strikes.

Huitzilopochtli blows were brutal, and though Frieren dodged and cast with precision, the pressure on her was clear. The pure power difference was off-set by the damage me and Michael inflicted on the Aztec God.

The enemy gods on the field regrouped fast. The one Frieren had fought,

Ammit, Tlaloc, and Huitzilopochtli rallied together, pulling back toward the center of the battlefield.

I could feel a shift in momentum.

Tiamat was locked in a savage clash with Azi Dahaka. Her claws tore into him and she let loose a blast of dragon fire but the evil dragon shrugged the fire off. All three heads locked onto her.

My Semi-divine form took that moment to flicker out, leaving me pant in exhaustion. Weakness overcame me. I sat back and laid on the ground pitifully.

The difference in my lowered power-level became clear. Everything above me sped up exponentially as my perception was downgraded.

Yet, I could still somehow see everything happening…It was blurry and hard to track but it wasn’t impossible.

My chest thrummed and I realised that the feeling of ascending into God-class hadn’t faded. Not completely.

My power had risen massively.

I was in the God-class.

Despite that, I could only feel bitter about having the barrier on my power level broken through.

The cost wasn't worth it. I felt the rest of my Angelic magic inside of me gathering into a ball and I underwent a transformation right there.

I watched weakly.

“Tiamat! Such a nice surprise to see you again.” A voice boomed out.

Azi Dahaka’s left head launched a storm of jagged black bolts. His center head chanted in tongues, releasing a compression spell that distorted the air. His right head unleashed a barrage of mirrored magic, stolen spells, warped copies of divine spells I had seen used.

Tiamat was forced on the defensive, wings curling around her as she weathered the storm. She sent a blast of fire back that forced one of the heads to shield with multiple spells.

Even then the large evil Dragon was pushed back and the area became unbearably hot.

To the side, Gabriel slammed into Tlaloc.

She dominated the Aztec God, her face completely cold. A geyser crushed the Aztec god into the ground, and he barely rolled away before a lance of light speared down.

Gabriel showed her anger through cold actions and Tlaloc could clearly feel the pressure as he struggled to survive.

By now, the armies had left a massive gap. Fighting around us to not get in the way. The barrier was broken.

Ammit lunged at Hestia, jaws wide. The Egyptian beast god was fast. But Hestia erupted with a gentle flame surrounding her. While the flame was gentle, the heat that accompanied it was less so.

It successfully forced Ammit back, her maw opened and Hestia was forced to shield as dark energy erupted from her.

Hestia summoned a lasso of fire, and I felt something else gathering around it. Both the weight of her domain and some sort of hopeless inducing effect radiated from it.

Aphrodite appeared beside me. Her gaze snapped from battle to me, concern clear on her face.

“Kai,” she said quickly. “Are you-“

“I’m fine,” I lied, getting up and stepping past her to drop to one knee beside Uriel’s body.

His eyes were shut peacefully, the attack he had performed seemingly left his body undamaged, except for the large hole in his chest.

I stored him in my inventory somberly.

Pain entered me as my mind kept conjuring up images of the past six months we had spent together.

Images of the last six months I had spent with him flashed in my mind. For a moment, I stared blankly at his body. The shard churned and for a moment I felt like we both grieved together

I couldn’t revive God-class beings. Not yet. Even attempting it with ultimate-class Angels had been hard.

A shaky breath escaped my mouth.

My fingers twitched and breathing became harsher. I felt my angelic instincts trying to calm me down, but all I could do was send the Architect a look that promised torture.

A roar of determination split the sky.

Michael had broken free with a truly powerful explosion erupting from him.

His wings flared wide, energy burning off him in golden arcs. Michael sent me a briefly concerned glance but opted for focusing on the Dragon in front of him.

Then he changed. His face was blank. Emotionless.

He didn’t hesitate. He tore through reality towards Tiamat’s and Azi Dhaka battle, slamming into the dragon’s side with a blinding beam of compressed judgment.

Azi Dahaka reeled, two heads roaring in pain.

A massive explosion tore through his side, directly into the wound that Uriel had inflicted. A wound that seemed to be struggling to heal compared to the wounds Tiamat inflicted.

Michael followed up with a slash from a burning sword, one made of solid condensed holy power. The purple glow of his power Domain flared and the weight of all his domains could be felt in the attack.

Another roar of pain erupted from the Dragon, one of the heads blasting a wave of plasma towards Michael.

Tiamat punched his other head, and made the beam run off its course. Directly into the Architect’s machine.

The barrier around it flared and it only managed to redirect most of the attack, as half the machine found itself being blown away.

The dragon bled. Black ichor dripped onto the battlefield, hissing as it touched ground. But even with that damage, Azi Dahaka didn't stop. His wounds regenerated, slowly knitting together.

The spells came back, twisted, stronger. A spell Michael had just used was now forming in one of the dragon’s mouths. He countered with equal strength.

The dragon was forced to block blue flames as strange threads came to appear in the air.

Tiamat controlled them and Azi Dahaka roared in defiance.

As the Dragon threw multiple attacks that obliterated everything in their path towards Tiamat.

I noticed she almost seemed to know when they were coming before it happened. As if she could now perceive the attacks that Azi Dahaka was making. As the evil Dragon seemed to be progressively using more powerful attacks.

The stalemate was brought to halt as another presence itself was known and a massive blast of crackling black-green energy slammed into the Dragon’s side.

The Dragon was lifted away and a hole was blown in its scales. The damage was on the level of the insane explosion Uriel had made. Despite that, with visible effort from the middle head that began layering itself with… healing spells?

Another wave of pressure rolled out. With all the power in the air, all of the armies found themselves struggling to breathe and I noticed the armies of Heaven rapidly retreating.

I turned instinctively, and my breath hitched.

A new being arrived.

Hovering in the air, a woman with seven sets of wings hovered. Her dark hair shimmered, and in one hand, she held Dulio by the scruff of his collar like a misbehaving dog.

Her gaze swept the battlefield.
