CHAPTER 49: THE DARK PART OF THE CURSE

"What are you both doing here?" Conrad asked and I smiled, I have waited for this and so has Luca.

I stared at him and I smiled.

"Where is Victor Luca?" I asked, Luca stared at me with a smile on his face, his eyes were on mine and he held my hand.

"Nowhere to be found, he didn’t come for his puppet," Luca added.

I told him Victor would never come for him and I am sure of that, he left him to be here and I am sure he would not come to save him.

I stared at Conrad, all the pains he inflicted on me, it was now on him, I did feel hurt, yet I didn’t care, my pain was nothing compared to what Luca was about to do to him.

"What’s wrong?" I asked again. "Cat got your tongue, you spoke so much, you talked and talked and you told me how Luca will never come for me."

"I knew Luca would," Conrad whispered so low, if not that I am close to him, I would not have been able to hear what he had to say, my eyes met his and I smiled. "He definitely will come for you, you mean so much to him." Conrad mocked and a laugh escaped his lips.

"You still think you have won, you still think you have all that you need, you still think that there is a flicker of hope and Victor will come for you, tell me why he will leave and come to save you, when at the end he will not make it either," I asked.

I felt a wave of anger was over me, this man is the man I shared so many great memories with, when I left my family, he told me he would never let me fill their void, he didn’t for a year then he stopped caring about it.

"Luca hurt him." I breathed out, I meant every word, I wanted to hear him scream the way I screamed, I wanted him to beg for help the way I did, and most of all, I wanted him to crave and beg for life, the way I did.

I know it would hurt me watching this yet I didn’t care, whatever it is, I will make sure that he bleeds.

I watched as Luca started to inflict pain on him, my attention drew back to the door which opened and Ares walked in, he stood beside me and I looked away.

"I am sorry." Ares spoke when Conrad screamed again and I didn’t say a word, I didn’t know what to say, now that I am better, I did feel all the anger again, why didn’t he try and back me up, we stayed for like more than a week and he saw the way I am, I didn’t even ask for any of this and yet he did all of this, he wanted Luca to believe that I will betray him.

"It’s fine." I finally spoke when I heard Conrad scream again "That’s enough Luca." I breathed out.

My eyes met his again and I gave him a smile, this may be the best gift that I have gotten, he deserved all the things that are happening to him.

"It amazed me the way you stand beside him, do you really think that he is in love with you, do you think that he purchased you from me because he wanted to care for you, he wanted to make you feel loved, or because you looked like his ex-lover?" Conrad asked.

He knew about her.

"Don’t-" Luca threatened and my eyes met Conrad.

"I don’t care, I would never believe a word that escaped his lips, he is not a good person and all he has done is lie to me, he has lied for five years and I am sure that he can continue to lie before he dies." I breathed out.

He is too predictable.

"That’s my problem with you, just because Luca shows he cares for you, you believe him, how long have you known him, you didn’t even know his fucking middle name and you slept with him, don’t you think that’s a little pathetic, don’t you think that you should be better off without having men play you like a toy, first it’s me and then Luca." Conrad smiled.

"What are you talking about?."

"Tell her how you ruined my work, tell her how you ruined everything that I have, and tell her how much you wanted to be with her, tell her the fucking truth," Conrad yelled, I didn’t look at Luca because if I did, it means I believe what he has to say and I didn’t, he wants to ruin me before he leaves.

Conrad can never see me happy. He always thrives in my unhappiness and my tears and for the last time I would not allow that.

"Tell her," Conrad yelled and I was pulled out of my thoughts, my eyes met his again. "I worked hard for everything and you know I was never going to work with Victor, no matters how much he wanted, I didn’t want to betray you because I cared for the dumb Alpha, but because I didn’t want to, it didn’t make sense to lose everything for a man that I barley knew but then I lost everything I worked for only to find out Luca was the one behind it, he made me lose ever single thing that I had, he made me lose my work, he did everything behind my back and he didn’t even care," Conrad yelled.

"Are you done.?" I asked

"I am just getting started, he planned it so well, and when I realized it. Good thing I did in time and I spoke to Victor, and guess what, he gave me this great idea, and even before Luca could come to me, I knew he would and when he did, I was more than glad to hand you over because all I wanted was revenge, he ruined me because of you." Conrad yelled

"Are you done bluffing.?" I asked with a smile on my face, if he thinks I would believe his lies then he is wrong about it.

"Are you worried that he has another reason for being with you and you don’t know about it, you know when I found out that Luca is obsessed with finding someone like you, I thought it would be a good idea and I stopped you from ever turning because I never wanted anyone to ever find out about you, I never wanted anyone else to see you, you would not believe the lengths that I went to make sure you are safe."

"Luca why are we even listening to this, all he wants to do is manipulate me, you know me for so long and you always think it’s easier to find perfect words to make my head hurt, to make me think, you tried to make me think that Luca would never come for me, you are horrible and you pass down your insecurity on me, you always think that I am weak and it’s easy to control my mind but it’s not." I breathed out.

"I know you Olivia and I know your Luca even more and I know for a fact that he didn’t tell you, tell her how you ruined my business just so that I won’t have a choice but to hand her over to you, I mean I didn’t care for you, I stopped loving you a long time but I never wanted to give you away, I was always going to keep you by my side because you are my little show trophy, the people love you for your beauty and I always thought you will give a son, a boy that will stand by me and fight by me." He said and I rolled my eyes at him.

"Are you done?" I asked again, I wondered why he wanted us to listen to him, why didn’t Luca hit him?

"Tell her why you really wanted her, he wanted you because" He was about to say that when Luca punched him and he didn’t stop, he punched him a few times and when he looked away, his mouth was filled with blood.

"He is scared you will know about the curse." Conrad smiled

"I know about it. " I breathed out and something flashed in his eyes, like I am wrong, like I am stupid even thinking that. "Luca don’t, I want to listen to what he has to say."

"It-it doesn’t matter if it’s not the truth," I said cutting Luca off.

"He is scared you will know; he told you about the wolf part, did he tell you about the white fur part, finding a wolf, a rejected wolf with white fur, a wolf that can save him from his eternal darkness, a wolf that can save him from himself, do you realize how hard it is to find a wolf that is rejected with a white fur."

"What do you mean?" I breathed out.

"He didn’t." Conrad smiled. "That’s the only reason he purchased you from me and made you think he loves you, he doesn’t love you and he will never love you." Conrad smiled. "He waited for you, when he saw you for the first time, he waited till you found me and he waited until he could break me just so that he could be your second mate."

"You are lying Luca cares for me," I yelled when I turned to look at Luca.

"Yes he does, according to his curse his mate can only save him if she wants us, and she can’t be forced, and that’s why he has been good to you because he can’t force you to do something, he marked you but you accepted wholeheartedly." Coward smiled and tears slipped out of my eyes
