CHAPTER 64: SHE IS WORKING WITH HIM

"Where have you been all night?" Natalia asked the moment I walked into the room, I glanced at her for a second, unable to speak, I can still recall the memories of the party, I don’t think she could, she drank a whole lot for some reason.

She knows more than she is letting on.

"Why do you look like that? Do you have any idea how worried I was, I was still close to calling Sebastine and having him send someone, you didn’t answer your phone or any of the texts." She yelled again.

I did the same to her when she left home once, only because I was worried and I could not handle any bad news again, but looking at her at the moment, I don’t even know if she was worried or glad that I was not home all night.

"I was busy, I am sorry, I should have called or even texted you." I breathed out.

"You should have, so where were you?"

"Busy," I added again and she glanced at me, with the way my hair looked and everything, anyone knew that I had just had a rough night.

"You slept with him didn’t you?" Natalia asked, "Is it because Sebastine made you mad, he is an idiot but he means well and if he was rude to Luca it’s only because you painted Luca as the bad guy when he came into your life, remember how lost you were always.it’s because of him and Seb helped you."

"I know, yet he crossed a line; Luca could have killed him." I breathed out.

"Why didn’t you tell us who he was, we would have never tried to have any conversation with him and now Seb could be in danger because of you."

"You don’t have to worry about it, Luca would not hurt him, he would even look anywhere on his side and he would not even think of coming close to him, Sebastine is fine," I explained, even if we didn’t settle our affairs, Luca would still not hurt him for me.

I started to walk away when she placed her hand on mine and I turned to look at her.

"Are you really going to walk away without any explanation, I deserve some explaining, why did you sleep with him, don’t you see what he is doing, he came to a part that he was not invited to, forged a fake invitation and he thinks he owns everyone because of his family, because of his bloodline, and not only that, have you heard the rumors, have you heard about people that met him before." She asked.

"What?"

"Exactly, because anyone that meets him ends up dying, he came to that party knowing it would trigger Sebastine, knowing that he would talk and say some hurtful things and he knew that you would stand up for him because you are too scared to let Seb talk, he controls everything Liv."

"If I left, it has nothing to do with Luca and everything to do with Sebastine, I wanted to leave even before Luca came, I asked you so many times but you were too drunk to even hear me out, Seb was trying to show me off as if I belonged to him, without my permission so believe I have every intention to be angry and yell at him over and over again."

"Luca does the same, came here to take you away under the false promise that he has changed or whatever he told you, but I don’t need to know more to even realize that, he had not changed, he is still the same old person, he is still the monster that hurt you and you can’t see that."

"You let me worry about that," I added before I pulled my hand and walked away.

Whatever is left of this friendship is dangling on a thread because of the fact that. I don’t trust her anymore, she is lying to me, she is hiding a few things and it can never be good, and I need to know what she knows.

When I heard the door bang, I knew she had gone out for a smoke so I sneaked into her room and the first thing I saw was her phone lying on the bed.

I read through her normal messages and there was nothing until I checked the deleted, I guess she didn’t delete it from the deleted.

"Seems like he has convinced her to be with him, I told you, you should have acted faster."

"There was little time and I didn’t think she would do this and neither did you."

"Just meet me at the usual, we have to talk about; he can not leave the city with her, nor even alone, he is better to us if he is here, if he takes her away, it’s over for all of us."

That was the last message, I didn’t have to think before I realized this is about me and Luca, who she is, and what she wanted to do with him. I quickly left her room before anyone could realize.

"I have to work Luca and you said you would be supportive about it." I smiled, I don’t want to lie to him but how can I tell him the truth if I don’t even know what it is and Luca, he will act in a way that I would not approve.

"I will buy the building, you can be the boss and you can do whatever you want." He said and I rolled my eyes at him, I didn’t need that

"No, I am going to work, maybe when I get back, we can talk about how you found me and how much you missed me as I was gone and you can use the time to talk to Ares or any of your men, check up on them Luca," I stated and he rolled his eyes at me

I stayed around the building until I saw Natalie heading out of the building, and not only that made sure that I am aware of what I am doing, I can’t get killed or die because of my mistakes, I needed to figure out what she is up to and what she has been doing.

I had my cab follow her, till we got to a café and I paid him, my face was covered with a scarf, as I stayed outside of the café, it’s a good thing it had a glass wall and I could see her.

She sat on her own, waiting for someone, I had half expected I would see Sebastian, he had always been weird, I always knew there was something about him, something I couldn’t seem to place my finger on, and I didn’t trust him, he knows more than he is letting on and I only met him because of her

"Ma" am what would you like to have?" Someone asked, I didn’t bother to look up because I didn’t want my eyes to be averted from her, I am too worried she would slip away and I would not know.

"Coffee, with two cubes of sugar," I added when I heard the bell ring and I realized someone had walked in, it’s someone I know, I watched as he headed toward her, she gave me a tight hug before she settled on the chair and he sat beside her.

The same man I saw when I walked into this time at the fair, I had thought he was stalking me because of the way he stared at me yet he never approached and that’s the last time I ever saw him, I never forgot his eyes because it felt like he was looking deep inside of my soul and it scared me.

Natalie smiled at him, she gave him the perfect hug and she sat with him. I watched as they were talking, she didn’t look happy and when his eyes started to look around I looked away, I didn’t want anyone to recognize me, I wasted no time in heading out of the place

Who is he?

What did he know?

What is Natalie doing with him?

Did he work against Luca, he has to because if not he would not care about who I am.

I wasted no time in hailing the nearest cab and no matter how much the woman yelled about me taking her cab I didn’t care.

As we drove, I started to feel a little better, the man turned to me asking me where I wanted to go.

"Look out," I yelled when I realized we were about to hit a car, I have no idea how it happened but it happened so fast, all I saw was smoke before I pushed myself out of the car, The man in front was bleeding when I touched my body

I am fine.

I felt a sting in my chest when my eyes flickered around and I saw Luca’s car

No he can’t be here, he would not be happy to find me here.
