CHAPTER 90: KEEPING HER SAFE

Luca’s POV....

"What’s wrong with Olivia?" Ares asked.

"Stitches have to be intact and I know you may not care but I do and I don’t need her getting hurt again, she is better off in her room where she is safe and her wounds get healed faster," I explained, I wish I could tell him, if he was better, he could have even been the only one that would know because I would have made him protect her but now I didn’t even trust him to that extent.

"She would be fine." He finally spoke and I didn’t say a word. "I got the feedback on the guard; he contacted us this morning".

"I strictly said no contact because it’s not safe yet and it could be dangerous."

"He didn’t have a choice. He found out that Jamie is indeed worming with Patric against us and he is making us think that he is working with us and Jamie would call you soon to arrange for a meeting, it’s not a trap but it’s to tell you what you need to hear, probably offer something in exchange for you getting hurt so you will think you can trust him." Ares expressed when we heard the sound of my phone ringing.

I glanced at Ares and then at the phone before Ares reached out for it and he placed it on speaker.

"What?" I gritted my teeth.

"You don’t have to-you can’t tell me what to do, tell me what one reason for not having you dead or even think of hurting you," I asked cutting him off.

I guess my guard is right, Jamie called me.

"I have something important I have to say and how did I know that you would get ambushed, just come meet me, or set up a meeting anywhere, we need to talk," Jamie said and I didn’t speak.

I was thinking, I didn’t want to leave the house, I can’t bring him here because it’s not safe for her or my baby and I just don’t like the idea of all of them being under one roof, it causes goosebumps to fill my body.

"I will send an address, be there in thirty minutes and you have five minutes before you get there, I would not mind taking the lead and killing family this time," I stated before Ares hung up the call.

" I will send him the address to one of the warehouses, and have him seated in my office with guards watching over him before I get there," I said before I walked out of the room.

"You can’t leave what if," Olivia asked the moment I told her about it, I understand she is worried and so am I. I hate to leave but this is never going to work, if I ever have to bring an end to this nightmare, I can’t do it from my bedroom, I can’t do it from my house, I’ll have to leave the house

"I have to, I will keep an gun with you and I will keep the sores locked, I will keep an eye with me with and you will have one with you, I will leave a phone with you, one that you can use to contact me even if the signal is out, and no matter what you feel, you pick it up and you call me," I said and she nodded. "I promise you will be safe and so will our baby. But I have to do this for us, and for our baby, I need to make sure that we are getting out of this." I said and she nodded.

Even though she understood; I knew that she didn’t want me to leave but I had to.

I kept the gun beside her under her pillow and the phone, I gave it to her, and I made sure the remote was with her and all her snacks were close by too.

"If you need to use the bathroom, you place a timer, not longer than 15 minutes," I said and she nodded.

"I know, I think I would eat and sleep, I would feel better doing that, it would help take my mind off a lot of things." She said and I nodded.

I know she is saying it for me, but I know she would not fall asleep; she would be too worried to do that. And I hate that she would be worried

"I will be back in an hour no longer than that, and I will not leave your side for the rest of the night when I get back," I whispered and she nodded. When I placed a kiss against her cheek.

Her eyes were on mine when I placed another kiss on her lips and I pulled away. I am here with her, my presence is here and my wolf would always be here.

I made sure to give her the key before I headed out of the room and I locked the door behind me before I asked two guards to stay by her door.

"Let me come with you," Ares begged when I headed into the living room, my eyes were on his. "I am not what you think I am, yes I don’t support what you do but no one lives for this pack like I do, no one wants it protected from poisonous things like I do." He said Mad I nodded

Better he be with me than here because no matter what he feels for the pack, he didn’t feel it for Olivia and who knows, he may try to find a way to speak to her, either way it didn’t matter because he is coming with me.

"Jamie," I called the moment I walked into my office, I found him settled on the leather chair and the two guards headed out to give us space.

I didn’t let any person be in the room except Ares.

"Give me one good reason why I should not order my men to take you into the basement, you laid a trap for you, you knew that he would come for us."

"I didn’t, don’t you think I am smart enough to run away and if it was a trap, I would have never asked you for a meeting, I am a lot of things Luca but I am not dumb and I would never be, I didn’t know Patrick would know, your men probably made some mistake."

"Now you blame my planning techniques and you blame the way I take care of my pack, if that’s why you are here?" I asked, my voice calm, I didn’t want to yell, I didn’t even want to get angry before it would lead me to even being mad at him.

I didn’t want to say something out of anger.

"No, I am saying, you made a mistake, because I didn’t tell him, did you think that you would never be caught, even if you plan it properly Luca, Patrick would still know; he went clubbing, I only informed you about it, I didn’t think you would go there, if you had told me? I would have warned you not to, don’t you think he is smart enough to keep enough security and eyes everywhere if he is leaving his home knowing fully well you have spies all over the city." Jamie asked.

I hated his tone, what makes him think that he could speak to me in that way, I so badly wanted to have him dead yet I can’t, it’s too soon.

"He has ears and eyes everywhere and not only that, he knows that you would be keeping an eye on him just like he is doing the day with you, I didn’t think any of that would happen and the moment I found out, I came to apologize to you and I am here with a peace offering."

"What?" I asked as my eyes met his.

"First I have to ask, why did you want to take him down at the club, I have a feeling you didn’t just go there to kill him, you would not do that, you did something else and I can’t place my finger on it," Jamie said and I smiled

The thought of Patrick being anxious all the time while thinking about what I could have done filled my mind.

"What is the peace offering, I am the one who holds the thread to your life, Jamie, you don’t ask me any questions," I stated and I stared at him waiting for him to speak, I didn’t have time to listen to all the things he had to say.

"I found out what he is planning, and what he had in mind, to do you and your pack and it’s all going to go down tomorrow evening," Jamie said and I smiled.

"And why do you think I will trust any words that escaped your lips, you can’t be trusted Jamie, and I don’t think that you can be trusted because I see you as someone who lies, we almost got killed because you didn’t calculate things."

"This is me trying to do things in a Different way, i understand that I messed up and I should have done better do you realise that pasturing smart and if I keep pestering him with questions he is going to get fucking annoyed that I am asking and he would know that he can’t trust me, you and I both know that we can’t let that happen; he has being brought up by grand ma and she taught us all the same things: she may have been dead’s but her rules stil applies to all of us."

I stared at him with a smile on my face, he is smart, I would give that to him; he knows how to use his words in a great way, in a way that he thinks that he can get what he wants, he knows I respect my grandma and not only that; he knows that he is ware of the fact that, I know all the things she taught all of us.

"So what is it going to be, I am the only one that can help you, and I want to help you, I want to fix this, I am sick and tired of Patrick, you have no idea how annoying and controlling he can be and you have no idea what is going to happen if he gets a single whiff about all of it, he would have my head, and I don’t need him starting to get suspicious so I need this to be fucking over." He said and I nodded.

"This is your last chance, if it doesn’t go well, if I lose more than five fucking men and that would be it, you would die to replace their lives and so will your kid, I trust you Jamie, and don’t make me regret it." I gritted my teeth and he smiled

"You won’t, I know what I am doing and this time things are going to get better, things are going to beg great and finally it’s going to be over, Patrick is cocky and he is a horrible person, and you have no idea how mean power will get into his mind if he gets l he is looking for" he said and I stared at him.

I just had a smile on my face, I didn’t know what to say to him, I enjoyed seeing the fact that he thinks that he is smart, he thinks that he can get whatever he wants and he thinks that I believe very little lie that escaped his lips, it even made it more better that he thinks he can manipulate someone like me.

I am excited to see how it’s going to be.
