The Son of Red Fang

“You weren’t told?”
“No sit.”
He sighs with half a growl as he backs out of the van. He walks closer to us, stopping at the bottom of the steps, his delta aura zing hot. It’s strong enough that Cole backs away from the steps with a small whimper, taking a seat on the glider beside the front door.
“What’s your name, by the way?”
“Delta Steven Ashman from White Ridge.” He states impatiently while holding his hand out for a shake.
“Nice to meet you Delta Ashman, I am Alpha Demetri ck. Thest I was informed the ck Moon pack was supposed to be transporting them part way home.” I respond back.
I’m trying to stay neutral but the wolf has already ruffled my fur.
“There was ast minute change. Wolves from the Red Fang pack arrived Monday and Alpha Redmen requested that we do the pick up. I guess when the council saw I had a small drop off at Wolfington Academy that it wouldn’t be that big of a deal to do the transfer. I guess the council doesn’t count anybody’s time as worth anything because this stop has taken an hour and a half out of my trip and I’m short on patience after dealing with six half feral boys either crying or acting out the entire eight hour trip.”
“Perhaps we should reconsider allowing them to go with you if you’re having such a bad day.”
“Why does the day I’m having matter? I’m already here, we need to get on the road if we’re going to make decent timeb./bb” /b
“My concern is the he–wolf behind me is already having extremely high anxiety issues rting to his return to Red Fang. Allowing a wolf with no patience towards children to take an adult that’s likely in worse mental health shape than them is highly problematic.” He sighs hard as he goes silent for a minute.
“Is he going to fight with the other young man that’sing?” He finally holds a slightly calmer tone.
“No. Cole and Jamie are very close and Jamie will likely be very calming for Cole.” I speak as I descend the stairs between us.

“I can keep my cool towards an adult with anxiety. I wasn’t too impressed by the lot that got off the bus Monday so hearing that he’s having issues returning to such a ce I can understand. While Alpha Whiteman isn’t a veryforting alpha he has changed his ways towards the better when the council threatened to remove him from power for abusing his pack. Most of the older ones in the pack still struggle withforting those who have been treated badly but we no longer manhandle anyone.”
“That’s why the boys were taken to Wolfington?”
“Partly. Alpha Whiteman keeps the council closer than most alphas now and he’s implemented a three strikes rule for the teens. The five council members that reside at the pack are the ones to investigate fights among pack members and they are the ones that sentence and implement the punishment.”
“So the council sent the boys to Wolfington?”
“Because of the distance, Wolfington is only for the most problematic teens. They are usually sent to a special school to work on their problems first and if they are still struggling after a year of intensive treatment and training at home, their next offense sends them to Wolfington.”
“That makes a little more sense.” I pause before continuing. “I understand that this has taken a chunk of time out of your day but this unexpected change is going to make it harder for Cole to leave and I’d like a moment to talk with him and get his feelings about leaving with you.”
“What about the other one? I only see one out here.”
“His decision will only be made after Cole makes his.”
I exin as I turn back to the steps making my way back to Cole. I slow my walk as I see him, his hands are in his hair squeezing hard the little bit of length that has returned in the two months since we had to give him a buzz cut.
