CHAPTER 82: THE BLOOD DRAGON

"You must absolutely come back from the Orcs. With or without their support. I don’t have to tell you, but I will, about how important you are," Drevix said. His voice was bitter, as if he had lost a fight that he didn’t even know he was fighting.

Vacuse stared at him and then at the open window, and he frowned. He felt as if something was wrong somehow, but he didn’t know what.

Vacuse knew Drenvar, both by reputation and personally in his past life. What he was doing wasn’t adding up, almost as if he was shrinking himself somehow.

’... trying to make himself weak before me... why? What is this bastard planning once again?...’

Drenvar continued. "The Orcs will want your head, but you must remember that you are Alejo, a guest. They won’t go against their own culture, but they’d find loopholes. Be very honest. The Dragon must not die."

’...you don’t have to tell me that... I’m the last person that’s going to try and die....’

"The Warbines themselves are very powerful. They are one of the most powerful Clans of the Orcs, and they claim that their leader’s family comes from that of the Orc that unified them before.

"They’ve already swallowed all the smaller Clans close to them, and they are eyeing the position of the High Chief. Don’t get dragged into their politics. Remember your mission and stick to it, and once you see it can’t be done, immediately retreat."

Vacuse nodded.

’...is this man rambling? Why...’

Vacuse tensed, ready for any sneak attack that might happen. His muscles were coiled like spring wires, his eyes drinking everything for any movement.

But nothing happened. Drenvar kept talking and then he stopped, issuing a command. "Lift your hand."

Vacuse did.

He raised his right hand up to the air, his ring glittering.

Drenvar nodded. "Now. Imagine as if you are looking into the ring, as if you are trying to stare inside a bag."

Vacuse frowned. He found the request strange, but he still did it anyway, with a confused look on his face as he concentrated on the ring.

Suddenly he gasped as his eyes widened. "Wait... this!"

Drenvar nodded with satisfaction. "Yes. The ring also has spatial properties. You can store something in the space. Artifacts like this are strictly controlled by the Emperor and very expensive."

Vacuse was still in shock.

He knew about spatial storages. They are one of the ultimate Artifacts ever created, so expensive that he didn’t even dare to imagine himself having one in his past life, and in this one he thought he would take a long time before he could own one.

What’s more, the spatial storage tool is in something as small as the ring, unlike most that were usually found in things like wooden chests and bags.

Vacuse was impressed.

Drenvar looked at him seriously. "Then let me tell you something. It’s a family secret that has never been told to anyone that’s not Elders or Dragon Lord, or its heir."

Vacuse straightened. "A secret?"

Drenvar nodded. "Yes. It’s about the Blood Dragon. If you notice, you’ll see that most of our high-level artifacts have the Blood Dragon in it somehow as its origin and such."

"To start with, you should know that the Vorrakyn founder isn’t the only one that Bound with an SS Dragon."

Vacuse blinked. "What?!"

Everyone knows that only the founder had an SS Dragon, until Vacuse came along. What was Drenvar talking about?

Drenvar smiled. "I reacted the same when I heard. But the truth was that there are actually several. Not many, but still not one or four."

Vacuse swallowed. How much of the Vorrakyn history did he not know?

"This takes us to the time of one of the bloodiest periods in our family history, and also the strongest we ever reached since the House’s creation.

"The then Dragon Lord was killed by an assassin sent by the Emperor, leaving the seat empty. The fight for the seat was between two people, both with SS-ranked Dragons."

Vacuse felt a chill down his spine. His eyes were shining.

"One of those Dragons is the Blood Dragon, and the other one is known as the Enchanter Dragon. Well, I won’t bore you. They both fought for the throne. One won, and the other died."

"The Blood Dragon," Vacuse whispered.

"Yes. The Blood Dragon died, and the Enchanted Dragon made its body into artifacts. Seven artifacts.

"Its flesh was made into the Blood Tree. Its eyes are the Eyes of the Blood Dragon. Its horns were ground up into dust to make the Blood Fog. The heart created the Ruler of the Pathway."

Vacuse’s eyes were wide as he heard all of it.

"Its bones and blood," Drenvar smiled. "I will tell you about the blood. The blood was condensed into three drops. Two of the bloods have been consumed, and we have only one remaining. It’s in that ring in your hand."

Vacuse stared at his hand in wonder. "The Blood Dragon’s blood? What does it do?"

"It’s just like the blood fruits. It will work on your soul space. But this one just has one hundred times more of its effects. If you use it well, then you can directly skip a stage and advance."

Vacuse sucked in a sharp breath. He had heard of such things before, but it’s like hearing of the sun appearing in the midnight. Maybe it could happen, but it’s just that extremely rare.

But to think the Vorrakyn have something like that, and it is now his. His eyes shone as he thought about what he could do with it. "What about the Blood Dragon’s bones?"

Drenvar smirked. "Well, that’s something you shouldn’t bother yourself about. But about the blood, you should be very careful when you use it. You should make sure your soul space is stable before you use anything."

Vacuse nodded. "Then what happened to the Enchanter Dragon?"

"I don’t know. Just like the founder, SS Dragon and its Soulbearer, they just... disappeared."

Vacuse’s eyes widened. "What?"

"He isn’t buried underground with the other family members?"
