Chapter 388: Sloth

They strolled around through the Void, which, by total coincidence, had begun manifesting worlds on its own.

It was effective, in fact, that Neraxis didn’t even need to do anything and he was growing stronger day by day.

Since time worked differently inside, it was even more overpowered.

So as it stood, he’d get a significant increase in power every week or so.

Still… Violet and Evangeline were looking around like children lost in a store.

“Woah… is that a supermarket?” Evangeline mumbled. “That looks like the same one from your city. Do you have your house somewhere as well?”

“I think so?” Neraxis tilted his head. “It’s running on autopilot now, so I’m sure it’s just feeding the world off my memories, you know?”

“It’s truly fascinating,” Violet remarked. “I’ve never seen a world such as this. The only one that came close was our own, but it’s already formed… it almost looks like you’re forming a whole universe inside here.”

“Oh? You think so?” Neraxis mused. “It definitely feels like that, but I don’t get it. Everyone’s golden, and they lack life. I can simulate it to a certain extent, but I can’t give them their own thoughts. I don’t really know how.”

“Well, no one said being a god is easy,” Evangeline said with a giggle. “But you should ask Amaterasu. She’s the only Celestial we know. She wasn’t the strongest, and she was only overseeing her dad’s operations, but her experience is still no joke.”

“Will do, boss,” Neraxis replied teasingly, then halted, turning to Violet. “So how do I reach Sloth? Do I just… call him out or something?”

Violet shook her head and extended her hand.

He stared at it for a few moments, then grabbed it.

Immediately, he felt foreign mana enter his body, and it heavily resembled the one he felt from Wrath.

Still, he focused on it for a few moments. Soon, he saw a gleaming dot in the faraway distance.

It was completely dark, but it resonated in the same frequency as Wrath’s and Violet’s mana.

Since he couldn’t feel any more of such familiar mana anywhere, he could only assume this was Sloth.

It was hard to recognize where he was; however, since Neraxis was inside the Void realm, teleportation was a bit more simple.

After a few hundred years of staying inside, he realized he could move the Void to any part of the universe undetected.

He didn’t need the sun as a conduit, so it was extremely overpowered.

In this case, Neraxis separated his hand from Violet’s and, in the next moment, closed his eyes.

He focused deeply on that particular dot he had felt, and with each passing second, it seemed like they were growing closer to it.

Obviously, that was because the Void reacted to his needs and did what it should be doing accordingly.

A few minutes passed in silence as Neraxis made sure not to break off the connection with the dot, and finally, they halted.

They were right in front of the dot now, so all that was needed was for them to exit the Void realm.

Neraxis flashed a look at the two women, then took a deep breath and slashed open the space.

Immediately, they were greeted with a peculiar sight.

There were stars scattered all around, lighting the entire world up.

But that was the strange part. There was no world, only a shallow ocean that extended as far as the eye could see.

Yet in the very middle of it all lay a single man on a comfortable bean bag chair, sleeping.

Neraxis and the others approached, stopping right in front of him.

His snores were loud, and it was clear he hadn’t realized that they were in front of him currently.

So at the moment, Neraxis was a bit puzzled about how to proceed.

Sure, he could kill this guy on the spot and be done with it, but why exactly was this happening?

First Greed. He came out with his child on purpose, and now Sloth, who despite all the danger, wasn’t reacting to it in the slightest.

It was almost like these Sovereigns were prepared to die, so much so that Neraxis had only a single choice left.

And that was to simply kill the being under him, showing not an ounce of remorse.

Yet as he raised his fist, crackling with the energy from the Void, Violet stepped in and crouched down beside Sloth.

She tapped him on the cheek, and a moment later, he woke up.

“Urgh… Violet? Hey, what’s up…” Sloth mumbled groggily. “Did you come to visit me after all this time? Hmm? You brought guests…?”

He tilted his head. “Why do you have Wrath’s energy inside you? Did you kill him?”

“I might’ve,” Neraxis replied flatly. “And you will be next, Sovereign of Sloth.”

“Pfft… now that’s a very cheesy line from an esteemed person such as yourself,” Sloth remarked with a chuckle, turning to Violet. “Hey, did you really ally yourself with the Eternal Sin’s spawn? Seriously?”

Violet slowly nodded. “I did what had to be done.”

“Right… you keep telling yourself that, little Violet,” Sloth said, narrowing his eyes. “However, I, like the rest of us, am not a huge fan of death. I’m sure you can understand, seeing as what we had gone through in the past together… but oh well… as long as you get the main body back, it doesn’t matter, does it?”

Neraxis listened to the entire conversation with interest, and deduced one aspect of Sloth.

He was a smart man, and he could easily connect the dots. Heck, if he wasn’t so lazy and didn’t sleep for years on end, he just might be able to become the leader of the Sovereigns.

Or what was left of them anyway.

Yet Neraxis was definitely not planning on making that plan come to fruition, so with a mere step, he arrived before Sloth and grabbed him by the neck.

“I apologize on her behalf, Sloth,” Neraxis muttered.

“But you have to die here.”
