The Strongest Mad Son-in-law
Chapter 906 - 907: Surviving Great Calamity
Xu Hao continuously released Qi Force, using the recoil to slow his descent.
Although the effect wasn't very good, Xu Hao knew he had to do it, or else falling from such a height would certainly be fatal.
"Oh!"
Miranda lay helplessly on Xu Hao's back, sighing, not saying a word, her reason for sighing unknown.
Just as they were about to hit the ground, about a hundred meters away, Miranda suddenly cried out in delight, "Water! There's a river below! Maybe we won't die from the fall now!"
Before she finished speaking, they fell directly down.
"Bang!"
A heavy thud sounded, as Xu Hao and Miranda plunged into the water, creating huge waves.
Due to the buoyancy of the water, they quickly floated to the surface.
Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, indicating a severe internal injury, his clothes in tatters, eyes closed, looking as if he had passed out.
But Miranda, still on his back, remained conscious, though the massive impact had mostly been blocked by Xu Hao.
Miranda coughed up several mouthfuls of water, then looked at the motionless Xu Hao and shouted, "Hey! Are you dead? You shouldn't be, right?"
When she saw Xu Hao remained motionless, she panicked and hurriedly shook him, but Xu Hao didn't respond at all.
Just then, out of the corner of her eye, she spotted the Fengyi Sword tied to Xu Hao's waist.
She thought for a moment, reached out and pulled out the Fengyi Sword, and then noticed an alligator swimming slowly toward them!
Panic-stricken, she screamed, "Ah! Alligator! Help!"
She shouted desperately and shook Xu Hao, but he still showed no signs of movement.
She had checked Xu Hao's breath earlier and found he was still alive, hoping he'd wake up immediately and kill the approaching alligator.
She knew the horror of alligators, the massive jaws could easily sever her in half!
Meanwhile, the alligator was speeding up.
The scent of blood from Xu Hao seemed to excite it even more, and it moved faster and faster, about to reach Miranda and Xu Hao.
She gripped the Fengyi Sword tightly, staring directly at the alligator.
As the alligator was about to pounce, she closed her eyes tightly and swung the Fengyi Sword at the beast.
"Poof!"
She instantly felt a warm liquid spray onto her face; she quickly opened her eyes to see a lifeless alligator lying beside her.
It was just one slash, and a person like her, with no martial arts skills, managed to kill the alligator.
This is incredible!
Disregarding the blood on her face, she looked at the Fengyi Sword in her hand, free from any bloodstains, and exclaimed, "Amazing! Fengyi Sword, you are truly incredible!"
They drifted down with the current.
Just when Miranda wondered if they would keep drifting forever, she started feeling hungry; at a bend in the stream, she, Xu Hao, and the alligator's corpse became stranded there.
Miranda was overjoyed, quickly climbed off Xu Hao, threw the Fengyi Sword ashore, and struggled to drag Xu Hao's body to the bank.
She surveyed her surroundings, finding herself at the bottom of a cliff, and nearby were many decayed sticks. She gathered them to make a simple barbecue rack and used them to start a fire for grilling.
By now, Xu Hao had awakened.
Though Miranda's grilling skills weren't great, given she had never done it before, parts were burnt and there were no seasonings, she still found the grilled meat delicious on an empty stomach.
After eating a large chunk, she asked, "Do you want some?" Themostup-to-dateversionison*.
Xu Hao chuckled, "If you feed me, I'll eat. If not, I can't reach it myself."
"Hmph! Since you saved my life, I'll reluctantly feed you some meat. Try my cooking, it's delicious!"
Confidently, Miranda placed the grilled meat by Xu Hao's mouth, and he took a bite.
After chewing for a while, Xu Hao's expression changed dramatically; he even felt like spitting the meat out.
It was terrible!
Crocodile meat was usually delicious, but that's when properly prepared. Given Miranda's skills, making good crocodile meat was akin to asking for the impossible!
However, Xu Hao endured it and slowly swallowed it down.
"How's the taste?" Miranda noticed Xu Hao's awkward expression and asked.
"It's... okay." Xu Hao replied insincerely.
"Really? If you like it, eat more."
Miranda said, picking up more crocodile meat and forcefully stuffing it into Xu Hao's mouth.
