CHAPTER 552: CHAPTER 552: I HAVE RESERVED THIS PERSON!
In the time that followed, Fan Sheng and Mei Ouchi seemed to have found an outlet for their frustration, belittling Xin Kalan relentlessly.
It wasn’t until their mouths were dry from talking that Chen Bin slowly spoke up.
"Do you guys have anything else to say?"
Mei Ouchi responded, "No, but the opinion of us three deputy directors is very unanimous—this recruitment is something we don’t agree with."
Just as he finished speaking, Xiang Chengkang quickly interjected.
"I didn’t oppose it—I just think this matter needs to be handled cautiously."
Mei Ouchi and Fan Sheng exchanged a glance and coldly stared at Xiang Chengkang.
Chen Bin, however, didn’t care about any of that and maintained his firm stance.
"No matter what you say, I’ve already decided to recruit Xin Kalan!"
With their brows furrowing tightly, Mei Ouchi and Fan Sheng both looked visibly displeased.
Xiang Chengkang secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
At this moment, Chen Bin began to slowly explain his reasoning.
"First, Xin Kalan is professionally trained and far better than us at making entertainment programs. Second, she has planned many successful entertainment shows that we can learn from. Lastly, rewarding capable individuals is entirely reasonable."
Mei Ouchi retorted, "Xin Kalan used to work as an entertainment planner in Taiwan. She knows nothing about the mainland’s situation. Are you sure she can produce programs that ordinary people here will enjoy?"
With a cold snort, Chen Bin’s stance remained resolute.
"How do you know she can’t produce programs suitable for the mainland? That’s enough—I don’t care to argue with you. I’ve decided to go forward with recruiting Xin Kalan. Now, all of you leave!"
Given how firmly he had expressed his position, Mei Ouchi had no choice but to hold back further objections.
She could only leave with Fan Sheng, swallowing their anger.
Back in his office, Chen Bin immediately called Xin Kalan and arranged a time and place to meet the next day.
The next morning, Chen Bin showed up in front of Xin Kalan once again, this time carrying a formal contract.
Blinking in surprise, the latter looked visibly stunned.
She was well aware of how high the terms she had proposed were, and didn’t expect Chen Bin to accept them all without even negotiating!
This man seemed to possess a great sense of boldness.
And what Xin Kalan admired most was boldness in a man.
After going through the contract, she smiled and said.
"The contract is fine, but I don’t want to sign it just yet."
Hearing this, Chen Bin felt a pang in his heart.
Could it be that she wanted to raise her price?
Only to hear Xin Kalan continue, "Mr. Chen, you indeed possess remarkable boldness, but for the sake of a better partnership in the future, I’d like you to demonstrate it once more in a very bold way."
Before she could finish speaking, Chen Bin kissed her on the lips.
Xin Kalan’s eyes widened in shock, her mind completely blank.
At this moment, Chen Bin asked, "Does this proof satisfy you?"
In a daze, a surge of emotions washed over Xin Kalan.
Chen Bin slowly overlapped with the figure deep in her heart.
Extending her pink tongue to lick her lips, Xin Kalan signed the contract directly.
Returning to Tianhai, Chen Bin fulfilled Xin Kalan’s request by renting a high-end apartment near the provincial TV station.
He also rented a Rolls-Royce worth over five million from a car rental agency for her as well.
As for the office, it was spacious and bright enough.
When news spread around the station, many people grew curious about Xin Kalan.
A woman earning a yearly salary of three million—what did she look like?
After the end of the National Day holiday, Xin Kalan finally arrived at Yanxi Province TV Station.
Seeing such a stunning beauty, the staff were abuzz with chatter.
They started speculating about her relationship with Chen Bin.
Some even believed that the high salary given to Xin Kalan was just a disguised form of embezzlement by Chen Bin.
Having grown accustomed to being the subject of gossip, Chen Bin naturally ignored such rumors.
After bringing Xin Kalan to her office, he encouraged her to adapt to the environment before starting her work.
Not long after Chen Bin left, Mei Ouchi knocked on the door and came in.
Looking at Xin Kalan’s alluring silhouette, he couldn’t help but feel a flutter in his heart.
"I’ve heard that the mainland’s situation is different from Taiwan’s. If you encounter any inconveniences, feel free to come to me—I’ll make sure to help."
As he spoke, Mei Ouchi’s eyes wandered across Xin Kalan’s figure.
His mind harbored all sorts of unrealistic fantasies.
She smiled faintly and got up to pour him a glass of water.
"Thank you for your concern, Director Mei. If I ever need your help, I hope you won’t mind."
Listening to her sweet, charming voice, Mei Ouchi felt his heart melting.
He nodded repeatedly, "Alright, it’s agreed then—come to me if you need anything."
Over the next few days, Mei Ouchi frequently found reasons to visit Xin Kalan’s office.
When Chen Bin discovered this, he called Xin Kalan into his office.
"How are things? Are you adapting well?"
"Aside from the food being a little too greasy, everything else has been pretty good. The colleagues at the station are very warm, especially Director Mei—always showing concern every day."
"Good, as long as the adjustments aren’t too difficult. You previously mentioned that our entertainment programs have a lot of room for improvement—can you provide a concrete proposal? I’ll arrange for the adjustments afterward."
"No problem!"
Within less than three days, Xin Kalan had placed two documents on Chen Bin’s desk.
One contained proposed revisions for all the station’s entertainment programs, and the other was her own program plan.
Chen Bin first reviewed the recommendations and found her suggestions to be thoroughly articulated.
Most of them dealt with details that were minor yet crucial.
With a nod, he decided these recommendations required no further discussion and could be implemented directly.
As for her new program proposal, it aligned perfectly with Chen Bin’s recent vision.
He then asked her directly, "Could you elaborate on why you want to organize a star-studded concert?"
"Celebrities bring their own audience, and gathering them together is sure to grab attention. Moreover, it’s an effective way to increase ad revenue. Most importantly, establishing good relationships with stars facilitates future collaborations as well."
Nodding repeatedly, Chen Bin was very pleased with her response.
"I approve of this plan. You’ll take full responsibility for it. If there’s anything you can’t handle, you can come to me at any time."
"Are you really not going to discuss such an important matter with the station’s other leadership?"
"No need. Once I make a decision, they have no choice but to agree."
Smiling faintly, Xin Kalan teased, "I didn’t expect you to be so assertive."
Chen Bin, unfazed, nodded decisively.
"If I wasn’t assertive, I probably wouldn’t have been able to sign the contract with you."
"So, are you saying many people in the station dislike me?"
"Not necessarily! Some who opposed you fiercely back then are now acting incredibly attentive. Still, I think you ought to show some real skills to avoid being labeled as just a decorative figure."
Nodding, a charming smile spread across Xin Kalan’s face.
"Don’t worry about that—I’ll surprise you plenty."
After she left, Lu Lin knocked on the door and entered.
"Mr. Chen, I saw Mei Ouchi spending time with Tianhai TV’s Ni Bo last night and came to report it to you."
Frowning slightly, Chen Bin asked seriously.
"Are you sure you didn’t missee it?"
Shaking his head, Lu Lin replied with confidence.
"To confirm this, I even investigated their relationship. It turns out Mei Ouchi and Ni Bo were colleagues and very close when Mei worked at Tianhai TV."
"Alright, keep watching them. If they meet again, report to me immediately..."
