Mo Shu sighed softly after a moment of silence, "I understand."

Yu Siqiao spoke in a low, comforting tone, "It’s okay, don’t worry, I guess he just wants to make everyone anxious for a bit; he’ll be back in a few days."

Mo Shu couldn’t quite

describe her own feelings.

Even though she usually detested Mo Jiantao when he was at home, she didn’t really want anything bad to happen to him.

As much as she disliked him, she certainly didn’t wish death upon him.

At this point, all she could hope for was that Mo Jiantao would return soon.

After hanging up the phone, Mo Shu asked Sao Zha, "Will Mo Jiantao be okay?"

Sao Zha: "What do you mean by ’be okay’? He certainly won’t die."

Mo Shu felt somewhat relieved.

When she arrived at the Mo Family house the next day, Grandpa was in the midst of his routine morning exercise.

Mo Shu probed a bit and realized that Grandpa seemed unaware that Mo Jiantao had gone missing.

It made sense.

Mo Jiantao usually liked to stay out all night, either in some model’s bed or taking a small celebrity out partying. Plus, Yu Siqiao had done a good job keeping it a secret, so Grandpa Mo assumed Mo Jiantao was just out having fun somewhere.

That was until Qin Yuan came out for breakfast with swollen, teary eyes.

Grandpa Mo noticed Qin Yuan’s odd demeanor and immediately asked, "What’s the matter? Did you argue with that guy?"

Tears rolled down Qin Yuan’s cheeks again.

Just as she was about to say something, she caught Mo Shu’s warning glance and hesitated, ultimately remaining silent.

Seeing her reaction, Grandpa Mo felt something was wrong and asked sternly, "Didn’t tell me that boy hit you, did he?"

Spousal arguments were common, but Qin Yuan had never cried like this before. If Mo Jiantao had really taken advantage of being a man to physically harm a woman, that would be utterly unacceptable in the Mo Family.

Grandpa Mo asked, "Where is he?"

Qin Yuan finally broke down, crying out, "Dad, he’s been kidnapped!"

So, she couldn’t stop him.

Grandpa Mo’s face darkened, looking at Qin Yuan as if the sky had fallen, he snapped, "Why cry? It’s a kidnapping; they either want money or life. Since they called you yesterday, it must have definitely been for money!"

As it was a question of money, that made things easier.
