Chapter 524: Chapter 534: The Feeling of being a Top Young Master

More than an hour later, everyone had drunk quite a bit, but except for Thomas Smith, the rest were still in high spirits, so there was no intention of leaving at all.

James Brown’s phone rang at this moment. Seeing it was Sandra’s call, James went out to answer it. He still didn’t want to reveal his marriage yet.

“Brother-in-law, why aren’t you back yet?” As soon as the call connected, Sandra started questioning James. Although her tone was fierce, it carried a charming coquetry that didn’t make one feel uncomfortable at all.

“I’m still drinking, might be a bit later.” James laughed, “I promise my leader I’ll be home before twelve o’clock.”

“Hmm, twelve o’clock won’t work, you must be back before ten, or else I’ll be asleep. I’m so tired today, my feet are really sore.”

“Okay, okay, I’ll try to get back earlier.”

“Hehe, I knew you were the best, brother-in-law. And bring us some late-night snacks, alright?”

James replied happily, “No problem, what do you want to eat?”

After chatting for a few more moments, Sandra finally hung up the phone. James shook his head. When it came to monitoring his outings, his sister-in-law Sandra was stricter than his wife Gina. Anyone unaware might think Sandra was his wife.

Just as he was about to go back in, he saw Amy Smith walking over. She must have been returning from the restroom, so James waited to go back to the private room with her.

However, as Amy approached a private room door, a few people walked out from inside. Amy initially sidestepped, but then she exclaimed excitedly, “Alice Brown, Jennifer Hog!”

The ones coming out were indeed Alice Brown and Jennifer Hog, along with a few of their good friends. Hearing someone call their names, both smiled instinctively and were about to leave, but their steps halted immediately, and they both looked at Amy.

Amy was even more excited, saying, “I’m Amy Smith; last time, we had dinner together at the same table.”

Alice suddenly remembered who Amy was and quickly said, “You’re Li… James’s classmate.”

Amy was even more thrilled, “Yes, yes, I’m his classmate, Amy Smith.”

Alice squinted her eyes and said, “So you’re having dinner with James.”

“Yes, yes! A class reunion, we’re having dinner together.”

Jennifer immediately said with a smile, “Would you mind if we come over for a toast?”

“A toast?” Amy was a bit confused. Alice and Jennifer wanted to go there to toast, but to whom?

James, hearing all this from behind, was somewhat speechless and walked over, saying, “Alice, Laura, let’s skip the toasting.”

“Li… James!” Upon hearing James’s voice, the two turned around simultaneously and rushed over to James, grabbing him by the arms on both sides.

Amy was stunned, and the girls who came with Alice and Jennifer were also a bit dumbfounded. Who was this guy that could make Alice and Jennifer act so out of character and be so affectionate?

James smiled wryly and said, “Could we maybe not be so excited?”

Alice and Jennifer realized they were a bit out of line, but since they’d already grabbed him, letting go immediately would be awkward. Alice, with a hint of blame, said to James, “We haven’t seen you in so long; we’re just excited.”

Jennifer looked at James with a face full of grievance and said, “It’s been so long, and you didn’t even call us. That’s just not right.”

James couldn’t blame them at this point and said with a smile, “Alright, alright, it’s my fault. I promise I’ll remember to call you in the future.”

Alice teased, “That’s right, we won’t be mad at you then.”

Jennifer then looked at James’s outfit and said, “James, why are you wearing this outfit?”

Alice also noticed and chuckled lightly, “Are you attending a costume party?”

James puffed out his chest and said, “I am now an excellent security guard.”

Alice and Jennifer immediately laughed out loud. With someone like James wearing a security uniform, it just seemed so amusing, especially with James’s demeanor, which added to the humor. They didn’t know that James was indeed a real security guard now, only that he was a security department manager.

After exchanging a few jokes, they released James’s arms and noticed the awestruck companions and Amy.

“Alice, Laura, who’s this?” Finally, one person snapped back to reality and asked while staring at James.

Alice Brown knew that James Brown always liked to keep a low profile, so she didn’t dare reveal his identity at this moment. She just laughed and said, “James is a friend of ours. We get along quite well and consider him our close guy friend.”

“Close guy friend?” a girl giggled, came over and pinched James Brown’s arm, and said, “Not bad, very strong. Could he be the pretty boy you all are keeping?”

The group of girls all giggled, and another one even gave James Brown’s chest a squeeze, saying, “Really not bad, strong chest muscles, your skills must be good too, huh?”

Alice Brown and Jennifer Hog were suddenly shocked. Usually, these girlfriends would joke around, but this kind of nonsense could make James Brown uncomfortable, which would be bad.

James Brown, however, just laughed and said, “Ladies, I’m a decent person, so stop teasing me.”

Everyone laughed again, and Alice Brown and Jennifer Hog were relieved. Since James Brown took it this way, it meant he wasn’t upset.

“Alright, alright, you all go ahead, we’ll catch up with James over there,” Jennifer Hog said at this time.

Everyone, though reluctant, saw the familiarity between Alice Brown, Jennifer Hog, and James Brown, and didn’t linger any longer, but didn’t forget to make a few jokes before leaving.

“J… James… you have such a good relationship with them?” Amy Smith finally snapped out of it and stutteringly asked James Brown.

James Brown laughed and said, “Didn’t you see it? Our relationship is indeed quite good.”

Amy Smith looked at James Brown, especially at his security guard uniform, then at the well-dressed Alice Brown and Jennifer Hog, feeling it just didn’t seem like they should be so close. However, what she had seen was two well-dressed TV station beauty hosts being affectionate with James Brown.

Since Alice Brown and Jennifer Hog stayed, James Brown couldn’t just send them away, so he took them back to their private room.

As soon as Alice Brown and Jennifer Hog entered, the room fell silent.

Amy Smith, at this point, was no longer so excited, and smugly said, “Why are you guys stunned? Could it be you don’t recognize them?”

Michael Terry swallowed and said, “Alice Brown, Jennifer Hog, why are you here?”

Alice Brown chuckled and said, “Last time, we hosted your wedding, how come we’re not welcome so soon after?”

Michael Terry was immediately embarrassed and said, “No, it’s just such a surprise, we were just talking about you, didn’t expect you to arrive so soon.”

“Talking about us? What were you saying about us?” Jennifer Hog immediately asked excitedly, with James Brown present and talking about them, she and Alice Brown were both curious and excited.

Amy Smith immediately chimed in, “Last time, didn’t you host Michael Terry’s wedding? Our soon-to-be groom, Thomas Smith, also wants to invite you to host his wedding, but we heard you’re not available that day.”

“Not available? Who said we’re not available?” Alice Brown immediately asked in confusion.

“August 8th, aren’t you attending the provincial TV station’s event?” Michael Davis, also a YODC City resident, although he hadn’t actually met Alice Brown and Jennifer Hog before, could recognize them from seeing them on TV during holidays at home, quickly added a bit.

Jennifer Hog immediately smiled and said, “August 8th, there does seem to be such an event, but since it’s James’s classmate getting married, we absolutely have to help.”

Alice Brown also smiled and said, “Yes, we’ll definitely be there that day.”

Thomas Smith was dumbfounded, stammering and unable to speak. James Brown originally didn’t want to ask them, but since they offered themselves, he couldn’t say not to come, otherwise Thomas Smith would be resentful, but this way, it made everyone feel that he had an extraordinary relationship with them.

James Brown could only laugh and say, “You’ve taken on Thomas Smith’s case, so I’m afraid from now on, everyone here getting married won’t be able to avoid you.”

Alice Brown giggled and said, “Why would we avoid it? To host weddings for everyone is our honor.”

Jennifer Hog also winked at James Brown, saying, “I’d be afraid that you wouldn’t ask us to host it then.”

James Brown understood that the two were using this opportunity to interact with him more, hoping that the more unwed classmates he had, the better.

“Sit down, since you’re here, make yourselves comfortable,” James Brown said, pulling out a chair and sitting down.

Alice Brown and Jennifer Hog immediately sat on either side of James Brown, relaxed and at ease, as if they had rehearsed it many times.

However, in the eyes of others, it had a different meaning. These two should have been sitting together, but they were instead separated on either side of James Brown, clearly making him the center.

James Brown is just a security guard now, so how could Alice Brown and Jennifer Hog treat him like this? That really was baffling, how did it feel like James Brown was some kind of high-class young master, having beauties on both sides?
