Chapter 109: Waking Up

    The lightening of the dungeon is what woke Elmo up. Even though he''d rather sleep longer, it was clear that it wasn''t going to happen. As such, he opened his eyes and stretched his arms above his head while ensuring his back felt it as well.

    As he looked around, he saw the rest of his group in various stages of waking up themselves. Jonas checked his weapons to make sure they were where they were supposed to be. Before getting up to make sure that nothing had changed in the area they slept in. Mostly from sheer exhaustion rather than by choice.

    Maybe it was because he was still rather exhausted, but he had trouble focusing his eyes as he looked around.

    Jonas sighed as she walked over to Kim, who was getting the kinks out of her neck, back, arms, and hands.

    "Any idea what we should do about getting those young women clothed?" he asked, not sure what they had that would work. Even if each of them had a spare set of clothing, that would only take care of four of them, leaving one without any clothing to wear.

    Kim sighed. "If it''s not one thing it''s another," she grumbled, rubbing her eyes. "How many are there?"

    "Five. If each of us had a spare set of clothing they could borrow, then we''d still have one without clothing. I''m pretty sure we need something more than that," Jonas explained.

    Kim nodded, clearly thinking. Elin snuggled closer to Kim, clearly wanting to just stay like that for a while longer.

    ''You know, I have my leather armor, but aside from that, I have the clothing I''m wearing under that, but there''s also the armor that the latest hobgoblin is wearing," Kim said, then paused. "I think we got the clothing that we''d supplied to Heather and Sonya, so at the very least, we should have the cloak Elin wore when she first came into that big room when we were being introduced at the start of this stupid competition."

    Jonas nodded. It would seem that they had more than he''d anticipated. "Well, if you get those quickly, maybe change into the armor that the hobgoblin has, then we could see about getting them dressed before Elin treats their status condition," Jonas commented, wishing they were already done with all of this.

    "Give me a few minutes and I''ll get started," Kim replied, "If you get the goblin out of the armor, I''ll be ready by then."

    Jonas nodded and started to walk over to where the hobgoblin lay. It was rather a distance given how quickly he was able to walk due to his body still recovering from the ordeal the night before.

    As he got to the hobgoblin, he was a little surprised at how quickly he was able to remove the plate armor from the creature. When he finished, he looked and saw that Kim and Elin hadn''t really done much, so he stayed where he was by the hobgoblin, pretending like he was still removing the armor.

    "Status," Jonas said quietly, figuring it was probably time for him to learn what else might be available with his status, rather than just the attribute points.

    While Jonas had expected a number of new skills, he had to admit to himself that there were a lot more than he''d anticipated. Especially since he couldn''t say that he understood what most of these skills actually were. Some seemed rather self-explanatory, but he couldn''t be sure that it meant what he thought it did.

    "Tutorial," Jonas said quietly, wishing that he could just get this over with. He couldn''t do anything about the pains in his body, but he was sure that if they were already on their way back o the town that he''d feel a lot better from that fact alone. Especially since he planned on sleeping in the comfortable beds they had at the inn when he got there.

    The chipper voice asked, grating on Jonas'' nerves.

    "Aside from the two skills I didn''t select before when I had them as options, tell me what the other skills are about," Jonas instructed the voice.

    Jonas thought this information over. While he''d rather just pick one and be done with it, he couldn''t justify doing that. After all, this wasn''t a video game that he''d played a long time ago, Each skill could help in in different ways.

    "How many skills may I learn at this time?" Jonas asked, suddenly realizing the void that he feels around himself that he felt, so often it that suddenly felt like it was somehow less than it had been.

    Jonas sighed. Four skills then. That just meant four more and he''d be able to get on with the morning. He didn''t really need to even think about it. He knew what he was going to select already. Though, he had wondered if there might be something happening that he wasn''t aware of.

    So, he quickly selected Shadow Regenerate, Shadow Manipulate, Whirlwind Blade, and Elemental Attribute Application. He wasn''t sure about the last skill, but he felt like he needed to choose another and it seemed the most promising skill listed.

    As he finished that, he closed his status window and started picking up the armor that he''d just removed from the hobgoblin with the intent of carrying it over to Kim.
