The True Fourth Primogenitor in the Multiverse
Chapter 55 55: From Guild Hall to Apocalypse
Evening, Guild Hall.
"..." — Kojou was browsing through the F Rank quests, hoping to complete a few to rank up to E Rank and see what rewards awaited him.
As he scrolled through the list with a bored expression, one quest suddenly caught his attention. He examined it with growing interest.
[ Quest: Kill the Shito ]
[ Quest Rank: F ]
[ World: High School of the Dead ]
[ Participants: 3 Members ]
[ Quest Reward: 10GP, 100EXP ]
What drew Kojou's attention was the term Shito — failed Blood Servants who had slipped from their masters' control. Bloodthirsty and violent, they still retained intelligence, yet chose to indulge in the ecstasy of killing and bloodsucking.
The real danger of the Shito, however, lay in their ability to create Zombies by draining people's blood. Some of them, depending on their innate talent, could even control the Zombies they created — a skill that wasn't common or easy to master.
Despite his growing curiosity about the quest, Kojou didn't accept it right away. He calmly absorbed the information provided by the Guild.
While the Guild did offer quest info, it was often minimal and not particularly helpful — except for noting that the Shito were located somewhere in Japan, and including the names of the other two participants who had accepted the quest.
Even details about the other adventurers were scarce — only their names and that they were also F Rank adventurers. The rest of their personal information was treated as confidential by the Guild and wouldn't be shared even among teammates on the same quest.
Aside from that, there was only one more note — they would return at the same time they departed, which suggested that the quest might take a while to complete.
Having processed all the available information, Kojou decided to accept the quest. There wasn't any real danger for him anyway — becoming a Zombie was impossible. As a Vampire, he was a superior being, far above Zombies, who were themselves a lower form of Shito — and Shito were already lesser versions of true Vampires.
With that logic, Kojou didn't hesitate to follow the guiding arrow that pointed toward the location of the other two participants joining him on this world mission. Their names were: Akami and Akatsuki.
Interestingly, one of them shared his last name — which piqued Kojou's curiosity a little.
With that thought, he followed the red arrow until he arrived at the gate area, where the other members were apparently waiting. The gate was labeled: HOTD — Fujimi Academy, and standing before it were two beautiful girls, who turned their eyes toward him the moment he arrived. Clearly, these were his teammates for the quest.
The first girl was petite, about 150cm tall. She wore a sleeveless purple top, a red scarf, and arm guards. Her light purple hair was tied in a high ponytail, and from her overall appearance, it was obvious — she was a ninja.
The second girl was a mature beauty, with long black hair reaching her knees and a pair of deep blood-red eyes. She wore a sleeveless black top and red arm guards, with a red sword strapped to her waist. Unlike the first girl, her body was well-developed in all the right places — and she had a pair of legs that were, frankly, even better than Asagi's.
"Nice to meet you, Akame-san, Akatsuki-san," Kojou greeted them with a light smile, introducing himself. "I'm the third member of this quest. My name is Akatsuki Kojou — you can just call me Kojou."
"A pleasure to meet you. You may call me just Akame," replied Akami quietly, her expression remaining unchanged.
"Happy to meet you, Kojou-dono," said Akatsuki, bowing slightly. "Please, feel free to just call me Akatsuki."
"Alright," Kojou nodded, relieved that they weren't the type to care too much about formalities — something he wasn't good at anyway.
"How about we share our abilities first?" Kojou suggested. "That way we can coordinate better during battle." Seeing both of them nod, he continued, "I'll start then. I have two main abilities — lightning manipulation and summoning a golden sword. I'm also skilled in mixed martial arts, and I'm currently Level 7."
"I'm a shinobi," Akatsuki said seriously, "My specialty is speed. I eliminate enemies quickly and silently, and I have good tracking skills as well. Oh, and I can use poison. I'm Level 9."
"I'm an assassin," Akame followed up, her expression still unreadable. "I use my sword to kill in a single strike — even a scratch from it is lethal, as it's coated with powerful poison. I can also use firearms and have some survival skills for operating in the wild."
Normally, adventurers wouldn't share their skills so openly. It was dangerous. But within the Guild, it was impossible to harm one another — a strong protection system was in place. Any attacker would be expelled from the Guild. Although their powers wouldn't be stripped, a bounty quest would be issued to hunt them down for violating Guild laws. Of course, that's if they weren't killed outright by the one they tried to betray. If the victim couldn't fight back, they would be forcibly teleported to the Guild Hall for protection.
