CHAPTER 406: CHAPTER 416
"Ha." Mason Sutton smiled sincerely, "It’s a pleasure. I’m quite flattered."
The woman chuckled as she unlocked the door with a key.
Mason Sutton let her in, then stepped aside for Mia Ginger, subtly observing.
It was indeed a new apartment.
The walls were pristine white, without a single mark.
A well-laid-out two-bedroom: upon entering, there was the bathroom, a storage cabinet, and the kitchen.
The living room opened onto a balcony, bright and airy.
Next to it were two rooms—one large, one small—both clean and tidy, with all-new furniture but no signs of occupancy.
The décor was modern and minimalist, with a black-and-white palette, elegant and timeless.
Girls tend to prefer cozier settings, and there’s ample room to decorate as desired.
Mason Sutton was fairly satisfied.
He didn’t give an opinion, but with a smile, he asked Mia Ginger, "What do you think?"
"It’s good."
Mia Ginger looked around, unable to find a single flaw.
"All the furniture is new," the woman said with a smile after glancing at them, "It’s great if you want to keep it, but if not, that’s fine too. Although the apartment is new, the utilities like water, electricity, floor heating, and gas are all set up. It’s unoccupied now, but once someone moves in, the wooden floors will definitely be warm enough to walk on barefoot."
"Yes, Kenneth has always had a good eye, known for his neatness and pickiness since college." Mason Sutton smiled, curling his lips.
The woman cheerfully chatted with him a bit more, filling in some additional details.
Mia Ginger listened all the while, offering no further comments.
——
Over half an hour passed.
The two said goodbye to the woman at the entrance of the complex.
Once in the car, Mason Sutton laughed and asked her, "So what do you think? Are you satisfied?"
"Yes." Mia Ginger nodded, "It’s quite nice."
"No objections?"
"None."
Mason Sutton tapped the steering wheel rhythmically with one hand, then asked, "And the furniture? Do you want it?"
"Let’s keep it," Mia Ginger smiled, "It’s all quite good-looking. I don’t really know much about interior design. What do you think, Brother Sutton?"
"Alright, then we’ll keep it." Mason Sutton’s lips curled again.
Mia Ginger fell quiet, not saying another word.
As they neared the school, Mason Sutton glanced sideways at her and added, "Let’s settle it then. I’ll come back with the keys once the paperwork is done, and you can move in anytime."
"No rush." Mia Ginger looked at him and smiled.
Mason Sutton was slightly taken aback, his lips pressing lightly as he casually asked, "Why? Do you have other plans now that you’re on break?"
"..." Mia Ginger looked at him, her cheeks slightly red, "Not really. I’m just staying with Brother Jackson for a few days first."
Mason Sutton: "..."
Mia Ginger saw his expression change slightly and hesitated, "Did my dad ask you to ask me about this?"
"No."
"Oh." Mia Ginger mused, "I thought he did? He doesn’t seem to like me being with Brother Jackson."
Mason Sutton chuckled lightly, seemingly acknowledging her words.
Mia Ginger furrowed her brows slightly, as some fleeting thought passed through her mind, elusive and hard to grasp.
A car honked on the street, and her ears hurt again, so she gently covered them with her hand.
Mason Sutton gave her a discreet look, stopped the car, and asked, "Want to grab some food before heading back?"
"Maybe not now." Mia Ginger unbuckled her seatbelt, "I’m feeling a bit unwell, I’d rather go back to my dorm to rest. I’ll eat later."
She wasn’t feeling too well.
Mason Sutton didn’t argue, just nodded and smiled slightly.
