CHAPTER 425: CHAPTER 436 I AM DALLAS TAYLOR (9)

"No need." Mia Ginger held his wrist, looked up and said, "How about I go prepare breakfast instead?"

"You can cook?" Koa Jackson was taken aback.

He had never thought about this question.

"Well, sort of." Mia Ginger laughed and said, "Actually, there’s not much to prepare. I bought plenty of bread and eggs at the supermarket yesterday, so..."

"How about we boil a couple of eggs and eat some bread?"

"..." Koa Jackson laughed, "Sure."

"Okay." She started to get up.

Unexpectedly—

Koa Jackson suddenly pulled her wrist, leaned over, and gave her a long, gentle kiss.

Mia Ginger got up again, her whole face flushed red.

She stammered, "Then I’ll get up."

Koa Jackson’s lips curved, "Mm."

Mia Ginger, in her pajamas, took her clothes to the guest room to change.

As soon as she changed, the doorbell rang.

Thinking it must be Camden River, she quickly went out, answered the intercom, and opened the door.

Camden River came up quickly, looked at her flushed face, and paused slightly.

Then he smiled and said, "I came to collect Windsor Myres’ things."

Mia Ginger followed him to the guest room, her face red as she tidied up her just-changed pajamas, feeling a bit embarrassed, she asked, "Will you come over later? Have you had breakfast?"

"Not coming over." Camden River smiled, "I’m just picking up something from school, then heading home."

"Like that?" Mia Ginger nodded.

She followed him to the door, reminding him, "Be careful on the way."

"Sure."

"Oh, by the way," seeing him turn to leave, Mia Ginger hurriedly said, "Happy New Year."

Camden River smiled lightly at her, "Happy New Year."

"See you when school starts."

"See you when school starts."

Camden River smiled, nodded, turned around, and went to wait for the elevator.

Mia Ginger closed the door and went back to tidy up the living room a bit, boiled some eggs, and had breakfast with Koa Jackson.

The winter in Cloud Capital is cold.

Neither of them are particularly fond of crowds.

After breakfast, they stayed home.

Mia Ginger tidied things up, while Koa Jackson helped her check the water, electricity, and gas, took out the trash several times, and soon it was afternoon.

The charity gala started at six in the afternoon.

A little after three o’clock, Koa Jackson took Mia Ginger out, collected dresses and styled them, and took her to the Goldrise Century Hotel, where the gala was held.

They arrived fifteen minutes early, registered at the sign-in desk, and were guided to their seats by the etiquette host.

The place was crowded.

Mia Ginger lifted her eyes, scanning around, only to come to this conclusion.

The event hadn’t started yet, but the entire banquet hall was already bustling with perfume and glamorous hairstyles, a lively scene that was overwhelming.

It was her first time encountering such a situation, and she felt a bit nervous.

Koa Jackson brought her drinks and desserts, placing them in front of her, and softly said, "Just treat it as having a meal. Once it’s over, we’ll leave. Don’t be nervous."

"Okay." Mia Ginger nodded.

A cheerful voice sounded beside her, "Cousin."

She turned her head to see the smiling Caiden Ward walking closer, pausing in surprise.

The female companion in Caiden Ward’s arm... Blair Chester?

Wasn’t it winter break? She hadn’t returned home?

Blair Chester had already hesitated when she saw Koa Jackson, and upon seeing Mia Ginger, she was even more surprised, her eyes widening slightly.

Caiden Ward naturally paused, hesitated for a while, and laughed, "You’re both from Cloud Capital University, might you know each other?"

"Yes." Mia Ginger smiled, "We’re classmates and roommates."

"Such a coincidence?" Caiden Ward spoke while sitting down, picking up the stemmed glass beside him and flipping it slightly.

Koa Jackson looked at him and furrowed his brows slightly, asking in a low voice, "Your new girlfriend? Does your family know?"

"..." Caiden Ward smirked at him, lowered his voice and said, "More of a companion than a girlfriend. It’s not like we’re getting married, why make it so official?"

His tone was casually indifferent, not very serious.

Koa Jackson slightly smiled, decided to ignore him.

He leaned down and said a couple of words to Mia Ginger.

His expression was gentle.

The charity gala organized by Asia Developments, Grandfather repeatedly reminded him to attend, knowing the underlying meaning.

It’s nothing more than hoping he’d have more opportunities to socialize and settle down quickly.

Even the guests at their table were chosen thoughtfully.

Koa Jackson’s hand caressed the wine glass, while contemplating, he heard a gentle and warm voice behind him, "Koa."

It was Lia Chester.

He turned around, stood up, and greeted her with a smile.

Before he could sit down, he met an assessing glance.

He raised his eyes to look over.

A man a couple steps away, around the same age, had a face with sharp and chiselled features, long dark brows, a high bridge of the nose, making his eyes seem even deeper; a tailored black suit outlined broad shoulders, a taut waist, and excessively long and sturdy legs.

Standing silently, his restrained sharpness still carrying a kind of intimidating aura.

Which family?

Koa Jackson lowered his eyes, pondering, feeling unfamiliar.

Then saw him suddenly smile and say towards his side, "Mia Ginger."

"Mr. Taylor..." Mia Ginger quickly stood, smiling and greeted him, her expression somewhat... respectful?

Koa Jackson confirmed he hadn’t seen wrongly, and after a brief moment of surprise, raised his eyes to survey him again.

Dallas Taylor walked up to him.

Slightly narrowed eyes, smiling, extended his hand, "I’m Dallas Taylor, this girl’s..."

He paused slightly, "Friend."

"Oh?" Koa Jackson slightly raised a brow, didn’t hesitate, politely reached out, "Pleasure to meet you, haven’t heard her mention you."

Dallas Taylor smiled silently, gripped his hand firmly.
