The Tycoon Has A Secret Crush On Me
Chapter 1426 - 1349: Redemption
CHAPTER 1426: CHAPTER 1349: REDEMPTION
Not knowing was alright, but now that everything is known, how can one pretend nothing happened?
"It’s late, let me take you home," Jun Mochan said, pulling her up from the stool.
His palm was warm, matching the warmth from her memories, and suddenly Ye Ranran didn’t want to break free anymore.
She let him lead her.
He walked her to the Wen Family’s doorstep and watched her enter the house.
He rushed back eagerly, needing to know what exactly happened, why she had changed like this.
As soon as Ye Ranran stepped into the living room, she saw Fu Rong sitting there.
He sat there as if he owned the place, lazily and casually, exuding an indifference that was hard to ignore.
Ye Ranran walked forward as if she didn’t see him.
"Is this a case of forgetting old love because of new love?" he asked with thick sarcasm as soon as he spoke.
Ye Ranran stopped in her tracks: "Did you ever love me?"
Fu Rong remained silent.
"If you never loved, then how can there be talk of an old love?" Ye Ranran retorted in the same tone.
The coldness in Fu Rong’s eyes was like the snow on a high mountain, thick and unmelting, and Ye Ranran knew he was on the verge of rage.
She didn’t understand why he was angry. It should be her who was angry, and it should be her who had questions.
"Does Chief Fu have any business here? If not, I’m going upstairs," she said.
After just a couple of steps, she bumped into a cold body.
Fu Rong held her with one hand and lifted her chin with the other: "Since when did you become so sharp-tongued?"
Ye Ranran tilted her head slightly, avoiding his gaze.
"Do you know who that person was? It doesn’t matter if you don’t know, you just need to know not to get too close to him; he’s very dangerous."
Ye Ranran hated his commanding tone; he was always like this, offering her a bit of care when she felt disappointed, rekindling hope for her.
After so many years, he had always kept her hanging, enjoying the thrill of her chasing after him, probably considering her a fool in his heart.
"In what capacity are you saying these words? If it’s as a superior, then I assure you, I will absolutely not harm national interests. If not, then I think I don’t need to listen to you."
The frostiness in Fu Rong’s expression hit Ye Ranran head-on, making her feel as though she was in an ice cave, with a storm brewing in his eyes as dark clouds layered over the sky.
It felt oppressive, as if a storm could strike at any second.
"If you are upset about that person today, you really shouldn’t be; she was just a temporary companion."
This counted as an explanation from him.
But Ye Ranran was far from reassured: "You prefer a temporary companion over having me by your side, what could be more ironic than that?"
"Don’t try to justify your arguments," there was finally a hint of impatience on his face.
"Then explain it to me clearly, tell me what I am to you? Tell me!" she asked loudly.
He looked at her steadily, the clouds in his eyes slowly dispersing, returning to the cold and aloof Fu Rong.
Finally unable to bear it, she pushed him away and ran upstairs.
Burying herself under the blankets, she felt like crying, but no tears came; her heart was heavy, yet the tears did not flow.
Deep inside, there was faintly a sigh of relief, and she didn’t understand why.
In the end, she concluded that it was a redemption from the heavens.
