CHAPTER 1514: CHAPTER 1436: NOT WELL OFF
If it were him, he would first calm her down and ensure everything was okay, then slowly capture her heart until her eyes saw only him.
After all, he had suffered a loss once when he was younger.
The next day, Ye Ranran woke up early.
She followed Fu Rong to visit the locals, listening to their feelings. Reporters stationed nearby naturally went ahead and reported extensively about it again.
Then came the distribution of disaster relief supplies.
Ye Ranran originally wanted to step forward and help, but her right hand couldn’t lift heavy items, so she stood to the side giving directions.
She would step forward to help with lighter items.
By the time everything was distributed, the sky had turned dark, and her arm could no longer lift.
Covered in dirt, she casually grabbed a responsible staff member: "Excuse me, where’s the place to take a shower?"
She desperately needed to wash the dust and mud off her body, oh, and her hair too.
The person gave her a troubled look.
"Is there no place to shower?" Ye Ranran widened her eyes. How uncomfortable would it be to go without a bath in this heat?
"Not exactly. It’s just that the place is a bit basic." The person hesitated before speaking: "How about I take you back to the city?"
"No worries. As long as there’s a place, it’ll do. If there’s hot water, that’d be great; if not, cold water is fine too." Mainly, her body was a bit fragile, so cold water wouldn’t be ideal, but with the conditions being harsh here, she could only endure.
"There is hot water, definitely. I’ll take you there."
The empty space had been set up temporarily to house disaster victims, and the bathing area was simply a large waterproof sheet enclosing a space.
Although crude, it at least offered privacy, and Ye Ranran didn’t mind.
After asking someone to help bring the hot water, she started taking off her clothes.
Since she needed to wash her hair, she specifically asked for two buckets of water.
She decided to wash her body first, leaving the hair for after the bath.
She brought two towels, placing the wet one in the bucket before grabbing the dry one from her bag and casually wiping her hair.
Finally, she stacked the two buckets together and walked out carrying them.
Unexpectedly, she ran into a drunkard as soon as she stepped outside.
The man didn’t care about anything and lunged at Ye Ranran, clinging to her tightly and refusing to let go, his mouth biting at her neck.
The stench of alcohol made Ye Ranran feel nauseous.
"Help! Somebody!" she shouted loudly, her feet kicking out aimlessly.
But the man held her so tightly that she couldn’t break free.
Just as desperation consumed her heart, Fu Rong appeared out of nowhere. He grabbed the man by the collar and easily dragged him away.
Five loud slaps landed on the man’s face, snapping him fully awake.
Ye Ranran stood to the side, terrified, her face pale and her body frozen in place.
Seeing her in this state, Fu Rong’s anger flared, and he punched the man hard twice.
The resounding punches finally pulled Ye Ranran back to reality.
Fear grew wild in her chest, intertwining like vines, goosebumps spreading across her skin. She couldn’t help but rub her arms.
"Stop! If you keep hitting him, someone’s going to die." Her voice remained calm.
Fu Rong turned his head.
"Hand him over to the police. I want to see who dares to violate me like this," Ye Ranran said coldly, with unmistakable resolve in her tone.
If Fu Rong had arrived just moments later, the consequences... she didn’t dare to think anymore.
"If anything happens, I’ll make you drink my blood," Ye Ranran said, lifting her hand high before letting it drop.
But even this failed to ease the suffocating pain in her heart.
"It’s okay now, it’s okay," Fu Rong whispered softly to comfort her but dared not get too close.
