CHAPTER 59: WHAT WAS HE THINKING?

My legs quivered, and I could feel a throbbing sensation between my thighs, right where my clit was, even if it hadn’t been touched. But that’s the thing, I hadn’t been touched so I wanted to be touched.

Right there, where the throbbing was, I needed to soothe it. I needed him to flick or rub his fingers over it, just so I could feel better just so I could calm the hotness.

Every stroke of Damar’s fingers, every swirl of his tongue, and the refreshing coolness I got from him, all of it made my insides puddle in sweet goodness. It felt like I would melt, while wanting more of his affection... More of his caress.

Then, he released my lips, giving me just enough space to breathe but still brushed his lips softly over mine.

I didn’t know snakes could be so sensual. He had a way of deliberately turning me on with just his lips.

"D-Damar," I called but he took that as a sign that I had recovered from the kiss and went on.

He tilted my chin up and claimed my lips once again while his hand slipped from behind my head, down my back, and stopped just above my waist.

It sent tingles all over my body, and I shivered at the sensation.

We shouldn’t be doing this now, right? Any moment now, Fenric will return. I mean, I don’t need permission to get intimate with one of my husbands from another husband but the timing is a bit... I have course to believe Damar is doing this now to show off to Fenric.

Then, I felt Damar’s other hand slip up my thighs as he nuzzled the side of my neck, where his mark was. It gave me an awakening that cleared my eyes in an instant. I knew I had to stop this if I didn’t want to completely fall for the temptation of having morning sex in broad daylight.

"Damar," I called, my hand pressed on his shoulder in an attempt to lightly push him away.

"Mmh," his lips grazed my neck and my body shuddered. "Don’t move." He said in whispers. "I just want to have a taste. Let me—"

THUD!

The loud sound of bodies falling to the floor made us both flinch, and Damar turned his head to look.

Although I didn’t need to look first, I already knew what it was. Or rather, who it was.

Argh, I knew this would happen the moment I fell for these sweet lips.

Fenric stood at the entrance of this open space, numerous squirrels wrapped around him, and a lot in his arms as well.

He dropped a few and that was what created that loud ’thud’ earlier. Just how many squirrels did he catch? That was a lot, I could tell. Did he and Damar decide to catch all the squirrels in the forest?

Fenric stood there, staring at us and then he tilted his head.

It didn’t look like he was mad, having seen us doing something like that in his absence, but it did seem awkward.

Um, what do I say? How to lighten the mood right now?

"Oh sorry," Fenric spoke up and let go of the rest of the squirrels in his arms. "Did I interrupt?"

I went silent, staring, and he acted as if none of this bothered him.

"Ah, you can keep going. I’ll just take off all these squirrels in a bit." He smiled, and this made my eyebrows furrow together.

What was he thinking?

I do think he’s a rather easy-going beast, despite his occasional jealousy and competitive spirit, but wasn’t he taking this too... Lightly?

I mean, it’s a good thing. But I just can’t accept that he would accept the situation like that.

Or am I just being paranoid?

"Since the cub has returned, I guess I should start counting my squirrels." He said, and I nodded, but then he leaned in and whispered, "We’re not done, Ari."

My face immediately heated up but I covered it. Still, the heat managed to seep through my palms.

How can he whisper something like that in my ear?

I peeked through my spreader fingers and saw Fenric staring for a second before turning to count his squirrels. Really what is he thinking?

I kind of wish I made a plot where the females can hear the thoughts of their mates. That way, I wouldn’t have so much trouble trying to understand the words he wouldn’t speak.

But since that’s out of the picture, I have to do with what I’ve got.

"I’m done." Fenric announced, his tone filled with pride and excitement as he stood before the hurdle of squirrels he had caught.

I waited for them to finish counting and to be honest, it looked like Fenric would win.

He brought back much more squirrels than Damar but unlike Damar whose squirrels were all scrumptious looking... Probably all adults, Fenric’s compromised or baby squirrels and those that seemed starved for food.

When it was time to judge, Fenric had caught 52 squirrels and Damar had caught 47.

Of course, I wanted to declare Fenric the winner and was glad that they could finally become a little more friendly now that Damar has seen his capabilities but it wasn’t that simple.

Damar shot his head away, clicking his tongue in annoyance and then mumbled,

"Useless."

That single word broke my expectations and froze Fenric in the spot.

But Fenric did not stay frozen for long as he broke out of it to confront Damar.

"Hey, what do you mean Useless?"

"Fenric, calm down." I said and he grudgingly held his tongue. Then, I turned to Damar. "Damar, what’s the problem? Didn’t you say you would accept Fenric’s capabilities if he caught a number of squirrels close to yours or even higher?"

"Yes. I did that. But that only applies if he caught ’real’ squirrels. His bundle right now is filled with baby squirrels that don’t even have any meat in them." He explained and I went silent, speechless.

So, he worn acknowledge it because what Fenric caught were... Babies?

Is this him having a soft spot for children or does he think Fenric had it easy just because he went after children?

Hah! Have mercy.
