CHAPTER 633: CHAPTER 633

He got a professional TV and bought a lot of supplies to put in the trunk before leaving.

They were all Clara’s favorite fruits and snacks.

Clara was slightly moved when she saw him do all this for her. She leaned against the car and handed him a tissue paper as she said teasingly, "We’ve broken up, so you don’t have to be so considerate. If not, I’ll think that you still can’t forget about me."

She regretted her comment immediately and added, "Don’t get me wrong, I’m just joking.

I’m not the kind of person who likes getting back together with exes."

"Me neither." After he made that light comment, he placed the box of her favorite biscuits in the trunk.

Clara scowled, hating the way he affected her.

They set off in the car and soon came to the highway around the ocean.

Clara called Joanna. "Joan, are you okay? How is Quinton doing?"

"We got a more awesome expert, so there’s a very high chance that he’ll wake up."

"Well, that’s good." Clara felt relieved. "I may be away for a few days. Take good care of yourself, and don’t worry too much. We must trust that we’ll get a happy ending."

"Where are you going?"

"Er... I’m going to visit a set." Clara was worried that Joanna might be worried, so she said lightly. "Make sure you get a good rest."

"You too. We have to take care of ourselves."

They chatted with each other for at least half an hour.

Driving, Ethan sighed. "Why do you women have so much to talk about?"

"It’s because women are excellent creatures, unlike men who fail to develop. Yes, you look like a human but you think like a beast."

"Why are you suddenly condemning me?"

"Isn’t it the truth?" Clara asked bluntly. "Both you and Ace are bad guys. You’re greedy and want all the women. Only beasts can’t control their feelings and are disloyal... Oh, but penguins and whales are different. They only have one soul mate throughout their lives, which makes them so much better than you jerks!"

Ethan couldn’t deny it. It was true that both he and Ace failed to handle their relationship well.

The journey took nearly a day before they drove into a mountain from the sea. They then stopped at the town, but the road ahead was muddy, and they could not drive into the place

It had been raining recently, so the road was bumpy with mud. One could not drive on it, and it was very hard to walk on the road too.

"Maybe we should go back..." Ethan frowned deeply when he saw the road. He felt that a rich young lady like Clara wouldn’t be able to handle this.

"Go?" To his surprise, Clara rolled the legs of her trousers up and actually looked excited.

"What a wonderful experience! I’ve only seen this in movies. How can I leave?"

After that, she took off her shoes and happily walked onto the road.

"Are you a woman? You’re so tough. Don’t you find the mud dirty?" Ethan stood at a clean spot and watched Clara stomp through the mud in disbelief. Although he wasn’t a germaphobe, he couldn’t bear stepping in the mud with bare feet.

"Why are you still standing there? Hurry up, it’s just mud. We can wash our feet clean later." Clara had walked a hundred meters when she realized that Ethan was still standing there hesitantly.

She didn’t realize that he was such a sissy.

She didn’t mind it, but his current image was vastly different from her former impression of him. She even began to doubt if she was blind to fall in love with such a man in the past.

"Hey, I’m going to count to three. I won’t wait for you..." Clara put both hands on her waist and urged him impatiently.

"Just you wait, Clara! I’ll deal with you when we get there. I’m suffering now, so I’ll let it go,"

Ethan said through gritted teeth. It was indeed some kind of torture to walk barefoot through that muddy road for him, but her words angered him.

"Bragging is useless! Come over if you dare!" Clara grinned triumphantly. She loved the feeling of infuriating him when he couldn’t do anything about it.

She really did drive him mad.

She thought he was afraid of stepping into the mud barefoot, so she could easily provoke and humiliate him. Clara was having a great time now.

"I’ll show you what’s what!" Ethan closed his eyes and rolled the legs of his trousers up. He then gnashed his teeth and stepped into the mud.

"Ah, just kill me!" When he stepped into the mud, he groaned as if he had just stepped into fire instead.

Clara held her forehead. "It’s just mud. Stop screaming, or dogs might come!"

"Dogs?" Ethan became much more terrified when he heard that. He suppressed his inward disgust and ran towards Clara.

"I’m most afraid of dogs! Where are they?" Ethan hid behind Clara. He was nearly 190cm tall, but he looked like a kid hiding behind his mother’s skirts. Clara pursed her lips and tried her best to suppress her laughter, and patted his head as if he was a child. "Don’t be scared, I’ll protect you. Dogs won’t hurt you. Just stay behind me and stop screaming."

They supported each other like an old couple and walked through that muddy road until they finally arrived at the set of Happy Days.

"Finally, it’s over!" Ethan heaved a deep sigh, feeling like he had gone through hell.

"Stop exaggerating!" Clara looked at him in confusion. "This is a remote village, so there’ll be mud and dogs everywhere. Why did you torture yourself and come with me if you were so scared?"

"What do you think?" Ethan headed to a small stream and washed his feet, smiling faintly.

"Do I look like someone who purposely looks for trouble?"

"Yes, you do!" Clara replied bluntly.
