CHAPTER 540: SUIT CHANGES; PROJECTED IMAGE

In spite of what Alexander said to the Enforcers, he took more than a few days to snap out of his contemplative thoughts.

The revelations he had gathered in the short time were more complex than he had initially thought.

From the knowledge about the Omnisoul to the missing pieces he heard from the Enforcers, they continuously eluded him.

He knew what he had heard, dissected it and analysed it in every way possible. Even then, he had trouble retaining it.

’It’s like everything is at the tip of my tongue, yet I can’t let it out.’

Those were his honest thoughts about the revelations.

Moreover, he had to make sure everything he gathered from the Enforcers was factual and not misleading information.

And while what they shared made a lot of sense in terms of what he already knew, the fact that they were eluding him made it difficult to accept.

Alexander spent more than five days thinking through everything.

During that time, his friends had taken two days to cultivate and meditate. The rest of the time was spent exploring what the universe had to offer.

This was their first time outside their home universe, especially for Julia and Ross.

They didn’t want to spend all that time cooped up in their own thoughts or roaming the true void.

Moreover, they had realised their shortcomings during Alexander’s conversation with the Chief Enforcers.

They were incapable of comprehending what was shared. Their levels were too low. As such, they did not bother Alex for a clearer explanation.

With a plan in mind and a desire to learn, they left Alex to his thoughts.

A high-level universe had a lot to offer, especially one that was the home to creatures of legend.

Dragons and their subspecies.

Naturally, Alexander made sure arrangements were made for his friends. Drakmor took it upon himself to assign a few of his subordinate Enforcers to the task.

Although said subordinates found the task beneath them, the mission was assigned to them by their chief.

They had to stick it in to avoid offending a being they could not afford to offend, especially one who was capable of seeing everything without actually being seen or sensed.

Exploring the universe was a novel experience for the trio. Being exposed to different lifeforms, ways of life, and beliefs had opened the eyes of the two Immortals.

They had learned the hard way that dragons were extremely prideful creatures who looked down on anyone who was not on their level or of their race.

Interacting with them had been troublesome had their guides not revealed who they were and whom they served.

As it turned out, the beings of the universe looked up to only one being.

Drakmor.

The guardian and master of their universe, a being of unimaginable power. Wealth was but a snap of his fingers, cosmic forces were but ants beneath his feet.

His name was legendary. Songs were written in his name, tales were written about his exploits, and statues were built in his name.

He was a god revered in every way imaginable, an image Julia wanted for her beloved Alexander.

’Alex is too soft on the people of our universe...’ the Knight princess thought as she learned more about Drakmor’s image. ’He’s too available, and people take that for granted.’

Julia made up her mind, a few ideas coming to mind. Whether her beloved wanted to or not, she was going to make him accept it.

’An absolute should project a sense of mysteriousness...’

Once they had satisfied their curiosity, the trio returned to their assigned space, where they found Alexander standing in his new favourite spot: the floor-to-ceiling window.

Julia could not count the number of times she had found her beloved staring out that window.

While he was sure to respond regardless of who called to him, none of them made an attempt to disturb him.

Cassandra returned to her room, feeling more dejected than usual, though she hid it well.

It was her decision to come along with Alexander. Who would have thought she would feel so useless?

Her desire to ascend continued to grow stronger by the day, making her feel worse than ever.

Ross, on the other hand, had come to accept that Veilwalkers were an entirely different class of existence, a class of beings he could not hope to match.

As such, he had resigned himself to taking his time to grow his power, grasp his unique law and ascend when the time came.

Returning to his room to meditate was now an automated process he could initiate with a thought, allowing him to speed time as much as possible.

He could feel himself nearing the next bottleneck that was the demigod level, a level no regular being had ever achieved in their home universe.

While the catwoman and redhead returned to their rooms, Julia stayed back and took a seat, allowing her to watch Alexander with a radiant smile on her face.

Alexander cut a dashing figure simply standing in place, lost in thought. Within her eyes was a burning desire to lunge at him.

However, the Knight princess managed to hold herself back. There was something about watching her man looking all serious and contemplative.

’Hehe, perfect.’ Julia inwardly giggled, manifesting a small interactive display and a touch pen.

With careful precision and skills that would put professional sketchers to shame, Julia got to work sketching a mysterious look that would strike fear and awe in the hearts of all who saw him.

Her designs were not much different from the armour Alexander usually wore. It still carried the original designs her uncle had commissioned for them when they were still teenagers.

The difference came from the addition of a cloak with gleaming lighting patterns and tassets joined to the waist of the armour.

Besides the sketch made for her beloved, she designed one for herself and Ross. Hers came in pure icy-white, while Ross’s design came in a fiery red with black details.

Naturally, the catwoman was not left out. However, she did not know much about her to assign a defining colour to her design.

Julia spent more than an hour going over her sketches, adding minute details here and there.

Once satisfied with her designs, she promptly lunged at Alex, smiling brightly.

And almost as if Alexander had been aware of her actions, he turned around and caught her, allowing Julia to wrap herself around him.

"Hehe, you never fail to catch me." Julia hugged her beloved tightly, closing her eyes to enjoy the embrace.

"And never will you fall..." Alex replied with a smile, stroking her back gently. He placed a kiss on her cheeks, patiently awaiting Julia to make her reveal.

"Alex...?" She called softly, her eyes still closed and her head resting on his shoulder.

"What is it, hon?"

"I’ve been thinking these last few days." Julia said, lifting herself to look Alex in the eyes.

Staring into his eyes, Julia saw the affection they carried, affections that were directed at her. She couldn’t help but smile.

"I’ve been thinking about your image in the hearts of every existence you come across." Julia began. "You always look carefree and childlike, and that makes you look less domineering.

"Back home, your demeanour is taken for granted, your personality easily seen through."

"You want me to project a mysterious and powerful image." Alexander summarised the core of her argument.

"Yep." She nodded. "You should take a page out of Lord Drakmor’s book."

Julia waved her left hand and brought up her sketches, allowing Alexander to see what she had designed.

The sketches brought a knowing smile to his face while her surface thoughts projected exactly what she envisioned: mysterious, powerful, domineering and beautifully divine.

"What do you think?" Julia turned to Alex, grinning.

"It’s perfect." Alexander replied, knowing there was no reality where ’no’ would fly.

The Knight princess had made her decision, and Alexander had no problem agreeing to her proposal; he had no reason not to.

"Mhm." Julia nodded proudly, making Alex chuckle.

It only took a second on his part to make the armour and cloaks, replacing what Julia and Ross had in their storage spaces.

"They’re done."

Julia snapped out of her sense of accomplishment, mild surprise flickering in her gaze.

"Hah... why am I even surprised?" She quickly caught herself and chuckled, warmth filling her heart.

Without delay, she got out of Alex’s embrace and called up her armour, excitedly watching as white essence gleamed over her body.

Starting from her feet, a sleek-looking, icy-white armour gradually manifested, climbing to cover her frame like nanites.

The suit hummed to life as ice-cold essence diffused from the armour. The tassets and cloak followed next, the cloak extending all the way to her ankle.

Finally, the headpiece of the armour covered her face, leaving her eyes radiating deadly beams of cold energy. The hood of the cloak completed the suit-up, casting a dark shadow over her face.

"Nice..." Julia checked out the suit, nodding in satisfaction.

She clenched her fists and executed a few sharp moves, testing the comfort and practicality of the get-up, appreciating how the cloak did not mess with her movements.

"It’s like I’m wearing nothing..." Julia turned to Alex, her presence exuding suffocating dominance capable of crushing a Venerable with ease. "And my voice..."

"You can’t sound like you do if you’re going to project an image of mysteriousness and power, right?" Alex replied, his gaze shifting to the door. "And it looks like we’ll be playing the part very soon."

The Knight princess followed Alexander’s gaze to the door, a knock coming through a second later. She peered through the doors and spotted their host, Drakmor.

"Yeah... Breaktime is over."
